Appreciate it.
Also, what’s the preferred scope mount/rings for a Remington 700 these days? Leupold? Talley?

As the title says, I’m looking to get a new scope for my .270.
Cabelas? Academy? Online?
Also open for some recommendations in the <$400 range.

Best bang for your buck router

Tired of paying Comcast $10 a month for their modem/router.
Found a surfboard (sb6141) modem on Amazon for $38.
What is my best option right now for a router? I pay for 75mb down and consistently see 80+ on speed tests.

This is not relevant to the discussion, but I assume this is true.
From a legal perspective, no, because a state court has already made a ruling on it. But I think that's where all the conflict from the fishermen comes from. In order to have a private waterway, it shouldn't be able to be accessed from public waterways. The idea from a fisherman's point of view is that all fish which swim in public waters are essentially public property and shouldn't be restricted.

Just like a pasture.
Not exactly, the water in these gated canals flowed in from a public body of water, and therefore should remain public. The land on either side of the canal, sure that's private but not the water itself.

Just trying to get a simple recap of all this.
1. Navigable canals are dug on private property and not on the map from the 1800's
2. These canals connect to navigable, natural waterways that are on this map.
3. The state rules that the canals can be gated off without being dammed.
So essentially, hunters who lease the land/marsh along these canals love it because it can keep the fishermen out of their hunting locations. Is that it? It would make for an interesting debate had the state not already ruled on it.
I knew years ago when they allowed for Lake Theriot to be gated off, that it would only get worse.

Hypothetical: Let's say I own and operate a small scale trucking company. I spend about 95k a year on fuel on my debit card/checking account. I would like to take my family of 5 on a nice surprise vacation next year, say a week long (could be longer).
What cards do I need to get?

Ha, jerkbait*.
re: New Rod to Pair with New Reel

Duckett micromagic seven foot medium. I use mine for 1/8 to 1/4 oz shaky heads and the occasional jerkbait.
It has a soft tip that loads up well when casting light baits, but not a buggy whip that will cause you to lose fish on a hook set.
I've got a Lews rod I'm not sure of the name of it but it's red in color. It's decent
On another note. Return that Lews, go on eBay and get a curado 201e7 for cheap. Or a 51e7 if you're into lightweight finesse type stuff. I've tried them all and the e series curado is the best. (Can't speak for the new daiwa tatula though, I've heard great things and I love my older team daiwa zillion)

re: Maurepas Swamp Diversion Project

The project ( LINK) was actually approved along with the Blind River diversion that OP is referencing.
Basically cut and dredge out cuts along the bank of the Diversion Canal in Livingston Parish. If both projects receive the needed funding and we get freshwater and sediment flowing more naturally through the area, it will help a ton.
Salvania is a different animal though. I'm only 24 and have personally seen the shite take over.

Older MacBook Pro upgrade limitations
Posted by shimanocurado on 5/6/15 at 6:56 pm
Current Stats:
Mid-2010 13" MBP (Model 7,1)
2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo
Stock 4gb ram
Stock 256gb 5400 rpm hard drive
Obviously going to upgrade the RAM so the question becomes; Is 16gb at $165 worth it compared to 8gb at $55? Prices from Other World Computing and Amazon, respectively.
Also, plan to upgrade main hard drive to an SSD and use LINK to convert my optical drive to either an SSD or maybe just throw the stock hard drive in there.
The reason for two is I would like to be able to use bootcamp to run Windows 7 for running all the programs (Autodesk, bluebeam, excel macros, solid works, etc.) used for work.
Solid plan? Or quit being a cheap arse and buy a new machine?

Recently got a Chase Freedom but if I could figure out a way to spend $4000 in three months I definitely would go with the Sapphire Preferred card.
