It’s capitalism. People spend money on what they choose to care about. Most care a lot more about football than they do about the academics. Can’t make people choose to care about the right stuff just because it should matter more.

The government stopped pretending they care about LSU being an institution with any sort of academic rigor a long time ago, anyway. Admissions standards are a fvcking joke now, and the people in this state won’t take steps to change that because higher education is for liberals anyway.

This is where you lose me. Why do you say this? Because he couldn’t at Ole Miss? I mean it’s hard to recruit when you’re sharing your state with another SEC school and Bama and LSU also reach in and take what they want.

He may not be the world’s best recruiter, and we may not get every recruit we want but I doubt we’ll see significant problems in consistently getting blue chip players from Louisiana and East Texas.

Lane won’t have to build entire classes in the portal anymore. If he can just get a few names every year to supplement the train will run fine. I’m not saying it’s Natties every year, but I expect to see LSU performing like it should consistently for the first time since the 00’s.
LSU would want to play the game in Tiger Stadium every year, especially now that we lose a home game every other year.
Even if we lived in a world where LSU actually wanted this game and were willing to settle for home and home (which we never would) we would want to play them in the Dome when we go to Nola and split the revenue. Tulane would want to play it in their Mickey Mouse stadium.

It won’t ever happen. Which is a shame, but there’s plenty of other runts in the state.

I still don’t understand this narrative. He left Tennessee for USC, sure. But there is not a single other time where he hasn’t done what was an objective move up in his career that everyone else would take. OC to NFL head coach, Fired as NFL head coach, and becomes a college head coach. Tenn to USC*, then after getting fired at USC he becomes Bama’s OC.

Then OC to head coach, FAU to Ole Miss, Ole Miss to LSU.

Other than one move (which arguably was the right choice anyway) where do you think he just got bored and left?

He may leave us for the NFL one day, but he isn’t leaving us for anything else.

I don’t think you know what all in means.

I am of a like mind with you. I run a hot fire for poultry, 375ish. Gets a crispier skin and doesn’t oversmoke the meat.

We always fry our turkey for Thanksgiving but I usually smoke one or two this time of year as well while they’re cheap. White meat makes good sandwiches and dark meat in gumbos.

Happy Thanksgiving, gentlemen.
We only had three OoC home games this year. The home opener and Senior night were two of them, so you wear the gold-white-gold for those like the SEC games.

That leaves SELU as the only other game to wear alternates and instead of the gold-purple-gold or gold-purple-white we wore gold-white-white as our alternate look. Which was kinda lame in my opinion.

The final season game being OU LSU is great most years it will end up as a prime time last game of the season

Well it’s over now. We’re getting Arkansas back, y’all will play Mizzou. Maybe they’ll even make a trophy for y’all. The SEC loves making up weird trophies when they force a new rivalry.

As much as LSU fans don’t like admitting it, Arkansas is the closest we have to an actual “hate week” rivalry the way all of the other schools have one. A game where no matter how much better you are you still worry about them beating you. Everything is on the table in that game.

You act like we don’t have a sense of humor. All the LSU fans who don’t have one did not survive that game on Saturday.
What about this board seems calm to you?

Confirmed, we're hiring Tuba Kent.
Assuming the playoff stays at 12 then playoff appearances every three-ish years with an actual run every five or 6 years. Championship once a decade. Never below 8-4 and you shouldn’t exactly do that often.
People on this board and in the media defended him irrationally from the day he was announced all the way to the Vandy loss.

If you criticized him as early a month ago you were downvoted to hell.
He knows good and well that TAF pays for it and that the taxpayers never would be on the hook.

He’s just trying to score political points with everyday idiots who are too damn stupid to understand how it works.

He would be perfect a Penn State. The biggest problem at LSU was the cultural fit.

No the biggest problem is he isn’t actually a good enough coach to be successful week in and week out in a real conference. He doesn’t win unless he plays a schedule like Notre Dame’s where you are head and shoulders better than all but one, maybe two teams on your schedule. And then still lose three games on average.
It is technically A, but you haven’t interpreted it correctly because this situation wouldn’t be allowed in the first place.

He isn’t allowed to intentionally take less than what he is reasonably worth on the market, and other schools can’t treat him like that because of it. He has to make within reason what he would make at his new job even if he wasn’t collecting a buyout check from us. This is all assuming we don’t eventually negotiate a settlement, which I think he will.

I think he’ll want to be done and just take a lump sum with no duty to mitigate and no more lawyers or agents. It’s what I would do unless Penn State or some other school that kinda matters is dumb enough to hire him.
