re: Would you do 2 years in prison for $2 million upon release?

I find it hilarious how some posters are just writing off $2mil. I understand it's not enough for some of you to sit in jail, but $2mil is a lot of money anywhere in the world.
After federal and state taxes, which were apart of this scenario you're paying upwards of ~45-50% in taxes depending on state residence which is leaving you with ~1.0-1.3 million dollars.
That is not worth 2 years in prison to me.

Seriously, how can some overcome stage 4 cancer, while others cannot?
Don't go "miracles happen" on me, I just want scientific answers.
And congrats to Old Bird.
Combination of things.
When someone is deemed stage 4 it general means a primary tumor (breast in the ladies case) + distant metastasis. Could be a lymph node. Could be another organ, such as lung, bone, liver etc. However, just saying someone is Stage 4 doesn't tell the entire story of their cancer.
While they are concerned about "stages" as they are correlated to prognosis they are also concerned with what is called tumor burden and local invasion. Basically how big a tumor is and how nasty that fricker is.
Someone could have a relatively nonaggressive metastatic disease vs someone could have a really aggressive local disease. It all really depends on the type of primary tumor and site of metastasis.
Another possibility is she could of been staged incorrectly.
re: When should I go to the doctor for pain in my side?

That would be pain on the right side. Gall bladder is under your liver. Pain radiates around the right side and the back. And if you have gallstones, you'd be in the hospital already for emergency surgery.
You know when its time then. I saw my wife go through that shite. Not good at all.
Gallstones by themselves don't do anything. They just sit in the gall bladder. What you are refering to if cholecystitis - inflammation of the gallbladder. It is generally caused when one the stones migrates and becomes lodged in connecting tube attached to the gut. If that happens to be at the confluence of what is called the pancreatic duct and the common bile duct then one can get pancreatitis without cholecystitis causing similar symptoms to what the lady is describing.
But like the ED DOC above said. She probably has gastritis.
or AIDS.

My parents allowed me to drink at home with them as a teen, and I will likely do the same for my kids. I will not, however, give alcohol to anyone else's kids.
quote:
From what I recall in rehab the definition of an alcoholic is not in the amount, it's what happens when a person drinks. Can he not stop once he starts? Can he not drink if he doesn't want to? Does he neglect family, friends, or become violent towards them? Are there other problems? Dui, health, etc? If all these answers are no, then he is a hard drinker, and not an alcoholic. Those are my memories from AA and Palmetto Addiction Center in Rayville,LA circa 2007 fwiw. I wish your friend the best.
Maybe its time to stop the cycle. Holy shite. As an alcoholic you are going to buy your kids alcohol?

Won't getting rid of the genetic protection that sickle cell provides end up killing more Africans and Middle Easterners as more will end up being more susceptible to Malaria?
