I don't think Lane thought he couldn't win a championship at Ole Miss. I think it was more about building long term success and the ability to do so at LSU compared to Ole Miss. LSU has better resources and he can have sustained success at LSU much like Saban had a Bama. It also helps to have Saban who was his mentor telling him that LSU is a better job. Saban knows the LSU program well from his time as coach and knows they are a sleeping giant.

He's really hurting his draft stock. When he gets drafted in the 6th or 7th round, he can't ask why. His character is gonna be a huge turn off for teams.

Loyalty? Are you talking about to a university and it's fan base or the kids on his team because everyone knows these kids hit the transfer portal so fast if something doesn't go their way or if they want more NIL money. There is no such thing as loyalty in college sports anymore.
