3rd world migration

Posted by theliontamer on 4/13/26 at 9:23 am
Wouldn't it make more sense to spend money and effort to help develop the 3rd world countries instead of just bring a few of their people to western nations? I would actually be down to support investment in south America and strengthen our economic ties to the region. I don't see many liberals volunteering to open medical practices or provide construction services to developing nations. I don't see Disney opening a theme park in Nairobi. I dont see all the pride flag flying corporations sourcing their ingredients from central america to help local farmers.
Well, procreating is different from raising a family imo. This one of our country's big problems. And i use the medium to large sized cities because that's where the vast majority of the population lives.

I agree it is "doable" to raise a family on 75k HHI if you move to a rural area and live frugally. But people with the desire AND ability to do so successfully are outliers in this country.
Primarily for medium and larger cities, and especially southern cities.

Higher taxes for services you cant utilize:
Take Baton Rouge for example, medium sized racially divided southern city. We pay taxes for a city bus service and public schooling. The bus system is primarily used to transport homeless drug addicts around town and the few people that are forced to ride with them because they have no other option. If you want evidence of this, please go ride the bus next time you are in town or do some independent research.

Taxes funding public schools that are so bad, that a portion of the city sued the city to form its own city. Shootings and stabbings are common in the public schools here, and it is frankly not a place you would want to send you children. So guess what, everyone who can afford it sends their kids to private school, which is not cheap. Imagine spending $20k a year to not send your kid to the free public schooling you already pay for.

Police funding. Millions of extra tax dollars we have to spend on the police force to deal with daily murders, robberies and other violent crime.

These issues are allowed by social politics and create larger problems for the country in the long run. Judges now sentence people based on their political ideology instead of facts. We have normalized bad behavior and it costs the country money and time that could easily be spent on more useful things.

It is obvious that these things affect housing prices and neighborhoods, directly making it harder to settle down and raise a family. Safe housing is far more expensive than the median income. You may call it obsession with materialism, but people just want to live around other respectable people in their community.

Now i am a big proponent on people moving to a different state if they cannot afford the life they want. But that is easy for me to say as an outgoing, college educated professional. Lower income people may not have the means or ability to get out of town and make a big life change. And if you rely on a nearby parent for childcare, that added expense likely exceeds your income potential.
It's harder to settle down and have a family because:
-higher taxes for services you cant utilize
-limited (and costly) amount of homes located in nice areas that aren't filled with violent criminals and drug addicts
-low income housing given to people who don't want to work (which shockingly becomes filled with violent criminals and drug addicts)
I guess it's the same as green initiatives and environmental policy. Western nations are the only ones that follow the laws and the other nations burn coal at will and dump trash into the oceans.
We don't have the balls to operate low budget mental asylums anymore. The only real option is send these people to a penal colony. If you are homeless and constantly getting arrested or causing violence, there is no place for you in our society. GTFO of our cities and get sent to a penal colony island. "life" in prison can cost the tax payer over a million dollars per person over their sentence. We spend about 80 billion dollars a year on prisons. That's less money we can spend on roads, education, and welfare systems. In some states we spend more on prisons than schools. People in our once great cities pay thousands of dollars each month in taxes for services they can't even enjoy. They think twice about riding the subway at night, or filling up their car with gas at the wrong place. Enough is enough. What are we doing. We are becoming a failed state in real time. We need law and discipline, not social politics.
I've heard liberal acquaintances say that they cant wait until everyone is just 1 mixed race so everyone can get along. How naive can they be?
This sounds like a reddit post from someone that has anxiety.
None, we've been fighting europe's wars since 1944 and propping up their pathetic economy.

Is Long Beach MS nice?

Posted by theliontamer on 4/7/26 at 8:46 am
Looking at properties. Is long beach cool? or should i stick to BSL or Ocean Springs. Interested in water access and restaurants.
"you can get just as good of an education at the public schools in town"
People underestimate how small some of these college towns are. You really cant go to ole miss from out of state and not join the greek system.
Yea, just the most sought after coaches who could get a payday anywhere.
