I agree wholeheartedly. It didn't help much that Jefferson had that "deer in the headlights" look about him from the first snap. The problems appear to be coaching-related and a need for personnel to fit the "system" designed by the OC instead of taking the strengths of those same personnel and tweaking the "system" so those players have a much greater chance at success. Frankly, I'm extremely disappointed at Crowton's play-calling. I can predict nearly 75% of what LSU is going to call; if I can, certainly any college football program can do the same. I would have expected some COMPLETELY NEW PLAYS which haven't been seen before this year: NOT! I would have expected safety valve receivers and hot-reads to counter the pass rush: NOT! I would have expected Shepard to fake a run and instead pass: NOT! I would have expected the offfense to send a message to Florida early with a Loooong pass just to keep them honest the rest of the game: NOT! The offensive game plan was, well .... OFFENSIVE to me! Lack of vision, poor planning to attack Florida's defense (which is QUITE GOOD, I must say). Crowton arrived with much fanfare but his vanilla play-calling and tiny playbook makes it easy for even Evangel High School to figure out what's likely coming next. Ah, but Miles had to approve this approach so ultimately it falls on him. I'm not saying throw the baby out with the bathwater but let's put the blame where it belongs. IMPROVISE; THROW A WRINKLE INTO *EVERY GAME*; QUIT BEING AFRAID TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS *DURING* the GAME; and for Pete's sake, design offensive plays we ARE capable of running with the personnel in the game!!!! Geeeezzzz .....
Well stated, couldn't agree more!

All year our DL has done nothing(again, with the exception of Mr. Alem who should have been starting all year).
Our LB's are lost and don't tackle well. But, we do have 2 new starters so you can understand that some.
Our secondary is in shambles. Our CB's are inexperienced, but don't seem to be improving. Our Safties don't know how to tackle and seem lost on most plays.
Honestly, outside of a few players, it's hard to see much good on this D.
But, the talent is there. So you have to look at coaching. This unit has been poorly coached. How else can you explain that the entire D looks lost this late in the season.

That article is nothing but analyzing the path to it.
I agree. It's one of the fun things about College Football. We analyzed our BCS asses off in 2003 and 2007 and fortunately the stars aligned and we got to the big game! Nothing wrong with anyone else's fans and media doing the same ....

Will the same be said of Alabama's win over UGA if LSU beats the Dawgs by say 14
Yes but not significantly ....

That Alabama and UF will play for the SEC championship
Hey, this could easily go either way as could any other SEC game. I guess Herbie forgot BAAma must come to play LSU at home? And that UGA playing UF isn't a 'gimme' either? He's hanging his hat on BAAma's win at Athens and GAAtors fortunate blowout of a 1A football team at home, no less. Our biggest hopes are to (a) run the table and (b) the GAAtors do the same so (c)we can dole out payback to the GAAtors in the SECCG; otherwise we have to wait until next year. No disrespect to UGA, you've assembled a fine football team. Frankly I think you're up to the GAAtors, should be a great game. Since your passing game is more mature than ours I suspect Stafford should be able to win this IFF he has no turnovers. Good luck this weekend ...

It is a sprain and Dr. Andrews said he will be out for about two weeks.
He's definitely an impact player, just seems to be able to gum up everything in the middle. Glad it isn't serious.

AJ Green is a beast
The best freshman WR in the SEC, making a helluva impact for UGA. Need Peterson on him like white on rice for the entire game ...

how did bama beat them (put aside turnovers and stupid penalties by UGA) ... played agressive d.
do the same. i'd rather be carried out on my shield.
Ditto's. Bama ALSO played very DISCIPLINED defense against UGA, one of Nicky-Boys trademarks. Few running lanes were open for Moreno. They tackled very well, especially LB's and DB's. They covered WR's exceedingly well. IFF we do the same thing, we win. If not, well .... it's wait until next year! Team with fewest mental mistakes wins this one.
No way. Helmet got across line but ball didn't (unless it was hidden inside his helmet)

You want good news...
... In a nutshell.
1. LSU is still very much in control of its own destiny.
2. LSU plays at South Carolina this weekend. This can be a good team building opportunity.
3. LSU will then have a FIVE GAME homestand.
4. Win out and LSU can play UF again.
5. Winner of that game plays in the National Championship Game.
Step off ledge. Plenty of football left to be played. Sometimes a good butt kicking is all you need to get it all going. It worked wonders for UF.
Thanks for adding sane reality to this board!

Everyone stay positive and forget about the game
To paraphrase a wiser man than I, "Ignorance of history makes one doomed to repeat it". The point is just burying your head in the sand for such a dismal performance doesn't make the next performance any better. We all learn from mistakes. Hopefully our CO-DC's will get THEIR heads out of the sand and at least get the alignments and personnel and plays called in enough time so we quit giving up HUGE chunks of real estate so often!

My entire game overview hinges with motivation. UF was motivated, and Tebow specifically, due to the trash talking.
I don't understand why players do it. Ours, yours, everybody's. It's totally unnecessary, and it's plain stupid.
I think this was a major factor in this game. I'm sure some on here would agree.
Hey I couldn't agree more Swampy! I've noticed Florida under Meyer plays BEST when they're emotionally MOTIVATED! Hell, it's like night and day! They were downright damn flat against Ole Miss and let a win slip away. If Florida has the same motivation against Rebs as they did against LSU it, too, would have been a blowout! Gotta remember these are young and mostly immature young men playing this game. Maturity and wisdom comes with experience and age and (gulp) coaching! Obviously someone forgot to tell RJF that you don't want to give the other team "bulletin board material".

I am very skeptical about these 2 young Co-Defensive co-ordinartos
Ditto. When I first heard Miles decision to have "CO-defensive coordinators", I had a gut feeling it wouldn't work. I didn't think much of Peveto when he did a miserable job as special teams coach. Mallory was a question mark to me. But NOT being able to pick ONE resulted in a poor coaching/management plan with no ONE person responsible for really really sloppy defense we've played all year. Florida exposed the massive weakness of our defensive decision-making, play-calling, confusion on the field, alignemnts, personnel, etc. A couple weeks back Miles said this already-identified confusion is "correctable", but it hasn't happened yet. We're waiting ...

Oh get a grip! He ain't my favorite opposition coach but running the ball and running out the clock didn't have to result in a score except we just couldn't STOP them! Hell they didn't even have their first team in the game. We sucked, they rocked, it happens. Hopefully we'll both run the table and we'll get a chance at redemption.

If we would have played hard and lost 31-21, the anger on the board would not be nearly as much
Amen! Offensive and defensive lines sucked. For all the domination they showed over us last night in EVERY phase of the game, the fact they HAD A RUNNING GAME and WE DIDN'T bothers me the most. Hey, I thought our offensive line was one of the best in the country? NOT! And a defensive line stingy on the run? NOT! Pressure the QB in passing situations? NOT! In short, NOT our year. We have lots of work to do.
It was a great play, never seen that thrown to the TE. We should steal it and use it against Florida when we play them -- a sort of poetic justice.
Florida 31-30. We should be able to score, but AU and MState showed chinks in defensive armor. Specifically, run defense adequate to win BUT pass defense leaves a lot to be desired! Backs and wide receivers catching passes at will against this defense so far this year. Best chance to win against Florida is to have long, sustained drives eating up a lot of clock ....
