re: Closing Reggio boat launch

I called the RV park this morning, and was told that they do not have a boat ramp which is open to the public.

Sorry for the necro-bump here, but has anyone launched out of Reggio recently? The new RV park have a ramp? Bait, ice, etc?

Looking to put a 16' flat in there this weekend.
Probably due to its relatively low capactiy.

Daryl Carpenter or Capt. Frank
Yeah, this is a tricky one. You said that the card expired, so I'd reckon that a decent enough attorney could argue that, at the time of filling out the 4473, you were indeed not unlawfully using marijuana.

OBLIGATORY DISCLAIMER: I am not a lawyer, and this is not legal advice.

You know, there's a guy in New Orleans, James Reeves. He's a lawyer, and also host of TFB TV on YouTube, and a concealed carry instructor. He'd be the first person I'd reach out to. Google him up, I've reached him via e-mail in the past.

EDIT: Worst case, snag an 80% lower and a jig and build your own rifle for personal use.

Modern-day 9mm defense rounds (Federal HST, Speer Gold Dot, etc) have been pretty proven to be sufficient at stopping a threat. I do like .45 AARP, especially in my USP, but prefer to carry 9mm for better concealability/capacity factor.

The recent micro 9 market provides plenty of great options:
1. Sig P365
2. Glock 43x
3. Shield Plus
4. Ruger Max
5. Hellcat

re: My Concealed Handgun Permit process

Approved today per an e-mail from LSP just now. That was quick!

They say 10-15 days to receive permit in mail.
I emailed them mid last week and they informed me that they are currently processing January paper applications. They did say that I could push an online application through and it should speed things up. Mind you I have already paid them via money order and did my prints, all in person at the LSP HQ in BR.

So, I pushed my online app through Friday night, and this morning I get an e-mail saying my app is pending review!
I also went to St. Bernard Indoor. No qualms at all with their class.
I dun' goof'd. I went to LSP HQ and did my prints in person, but I also handed in a paper (hard copy) application. I received an e-mail from them today saying that they're processing January paper apps right now. I figured that as long as I hand it directly to them, that I would be in the express lane, but, alas, no.

Good trout are showing up on the rocks. Just need some stable conditions to get out there. It will be real good real soon. Throw topwaters early and I wouldn't leave the dock without live shrimp. 3' under your favorite popping cork.

Please let me know how it works out. I have a very similar boat - 16.5' duracraft CC + 70hp Yamaha dream machine
I had to do this on my old flatboat. I bought it from a guy, who bought it from a guy, yada yada.
In Louisiana, it's called an affidavit of boat ownership. You have to file it with the justice of the peace. A judge signs it, they send it off to wildlife and fisheries.
Wildlife reviews it, and they either approve or deny it. Then if you're lucky, they award you the boat and you can then register it.

It's definitely a crap-shoot. No guarantee whatsoever here, but I was awarded ownership in my case. I had a notarized bill of sale from the guy I bought it from, and had a bunch of pics.

Best of luck

any with a foot control?

You could splice one in fairly easily.
The Ghost peppers have an awesome smokey flavor. Hot as frick though.
Soak a couple in vinegar and drizzle it on your bbq.
Kahle hooks FTW - always in the corner of the mouth which is more rigid than their upper/lower jaws where there are spots of soft skin.

With flounder - I find they have tough mouths, but i've heard that a lot of times they aren't even hooked - they just hold on to the bait until they see the boat. :dunno:

re: Carolina Skiff Help

Posted by cgnola on 12/21/15 at 3:09 pm to
I recently got a Duracraft 1660 Center Console. It was used, from 2001, but I got a steal of a deal. After taking it in the water about a dozen times now, the one feature that stands out about it time and time again is how wide it is (60"). Extremely stable and spacious for a 16'4" boat. Two people can jump up and down on the bow or stern decks simultaneously and the boat barely rocks. We fish 3 people consistently with no issues. Also, the slight V on the bow makes it surprisingly dry in a little chop.
I don't have much experience with Carolina Skiff, and I'm not sure what their widths are at various lengths, but if you're looking for a 16'ish boat I would recommend looking for width. It makes a huge difference IMO

re: Swing Back Tongue Trailer

Posted by cgnola on 12/21/15 at 11:33 am to
I recently bought a 16' duracraft CC and had to put one of these on the trailer to get it to fit in the garage.
I bought the Fulton kit off of Amazon. It's a great kit, comes with all of the hardware, even a center punch to start your pilot holes.
It uses 1/2" bolts so it's pretty heavy duty stuff.
I've had it since October so I can't give a long-term testimonial, but it's been excellent to me so far with about a dozen tows under it's belt.

Check out the video here: LINK

You'll need a reciprocating saw, QUALITY drill bits (be careful when those 1/2" bits catch, they'll torque your arm off - maybe get some drill grease), wrenches, and of course you will need to add to your safety chain so that it bolts on aft of the swing away.

re: Delacroix or Chalmette

Managed 12 pretty trout in Chalmette yesterday - most came on sliding corks by Boh Bros. That bite shut down and we bounced around picking a fish or two here and there and that's it.

Fished Pointe Fienne/Skippy/Oak River yesterday and caught 3 trout, 1 bass. Caught a 2-man limit last Tuesday in Point Fienne. It definitely wasn't on yesterday like it has been.
