Maine Black Bears 9 Mississippi State 7 (2004)

I don’t know if Maine was D 1-AA back then
I’m not saying it’s good or bad that Anderson is in the portal. Call me old fashioned it would be nice for some players to stay for longer than a cup of coffee

They just had to put A&M in there didn't they?

So Kendall it’s not even funny

who do we think our top 3 receivers will be next year

Every single one of these guys has had success at their previous stop. Nobody is going to go down without a fight. I’d buy a ticket to watch this shake out.
As stated, three years more. And I know it’s not in vogue to stick around anywhere for long, but it’s still fun to speculate on his development in this offense

That’s blazing for a return specialist, WR, DB, for anyone on the field

Am I not understanding things correctly, wasn’t he in a stable situation at Tennessee? His college career reads like The Grand Tour
quote:

He [Hilton] deserves a hat tip for that. He played his arse off on kick coverage. He had some really nice plays on that side this season. Considering how his career here didn’t go as I’m sure he hoped, I appreciate that he gave 100% there.

Nice to see a post thanking one of our own. Too much sh!t slung at former LSU players on this board
quote:

Blue Gay was on a visit to Alabama. Saban found out about him, he was not in DiNardo’s list. His HS coach Brady Perry called him and he left mid visit to come visit LSU

Thanks I had never heard that story
Cordell Landers, did he train under Willie Lyles?
quote:

so many left, even with the prospect of what most of us think will be better coaching? Is it money? Misplaced loyalty to BD ( who was, after all, a good recruiter)? Did the new staff not want to keep them?

All good questions. Adding to the bizarre nature of the situation is that their play was consistently not good enough here yet they’re good enough for the best programs in the toughest conference to fight over them. All I got is: looks like Tarzan plays like Jane

we have OL on roster already that can start

Uh if they couldn’t start last year then how good can they be? Think about it. We went 7-6 and there was no youth movement on the OL
quote:

these guys are legit

I get what you’re saying but little from what I saw last year screams top tier - and that’s where they’re off to. Did Wolford think they’re legit like big time SEC legit, or does he think they’re better suited for mid-major?
Was Brad Davis that bad? I seriously thought that in 2026 these guys would ply their trade in the Sun Belt or American Conference. Something is way off. Maybe measurables is what matters most? Curne, Adams, Echols, and Williams are miles away, aren’t they?
Curne, Williams, Adams and Echols: we play all three of their teams next season. Those matchups will be telling

Edit to add Adams
quote:

A lot of these "nobodies" are young and have been developing and not starting so we truthfully dont know what theyre capable of. Can't keep losing young talent though, especially not guys that have high potential

And I’ll add that from a process standpoint finding a replacement in the portal takes time, devoting scouting staff, energy, etc. from a results standpoint what you bring in may be just as big of a question mark as what we had in hand.

I’m not referencing Braker in particular just speaking in general
