Went with the wife and kids last week. It was indeed painful! Not sure if you had the same 'lead'/'singer'/'whatever you call it', but I couldn't get over the NY accent.

The only thing that made it semi-bearable was that the kids seemed to be loving it.
I hiked up to Arthurs Seat just outside of Edinburgh a few years ago, and bumped into a huge group of kids all wearing LSU gear. Turns out it was an LSU geology class on a "field trip" of sorts. Last thing I expected to see while over there, but was a welcome taste of home!
My final year at LSU! That was an awesome game as Miss St. had a good team that year. Tenn was amazing as well!
Ive worked offshore GoM as well as in the North Sea for both BP and Equinor and can say that the difference in safety protocol is immense. Granted there was about an 8 year gap between my work in the Gulf and what I was doing in the North Sea so some things may have changed. My experience was that the GoM was a "good ole boy" / wild west culture where as the NS was much more planned, controlled, and managed. Unless things changed dramatically, I wouldnt want to go back to work in the Gulf.
Thanks for the memories Stigley, and best of luck to you at the next level!

Great years to be a student! I remember having a 430 pm class. Me and a couple others would run over to the PMAC afterwards to watch em play.

Memory is a little foggy, but I dont remember paying for bball tickets....was it free for students back then or just dirt cheap?
wtf does "STR19ES EARNED" mean??

Have I unknowingly joined the ranks of parents and OT's who need an emoji and acronym cheat sheet?
I really feel like Tua is to Tiger Fans what LF7 was to other fan bases. An incredibly likable guy who just happens to play for the 'other' team.

Hard to find anyone who just doesn't like Tua OR LF7. They are both very high character kids.
$6 per game. Dinardo had started to 'Bring Back the Magic' and I graduated after Saban's first year with LSU. It was a great time to be a Tiger fan!!
There is one on Sirius/XM for some home security system, it goes a little like this.....

"Hi, thanks for calling IFORGETTHENAMECAUSEYOURCOMMERCIALSUCKS security, how can we help you"

"Yes, uh...we've just been broken into...and uh....we need a home security system"

First off, YOU weren't broken into; your home was (or I assume anyway). Secondly, you sound like someone has a gun to your head, or you just walked in and immediately made this phone call! Look around, take an inventory of whats missing, get someone with a spine to walk inside and make sure 'intruders' are long gone, and finally compose yourself and make that call.

All other commercials are unicorns and butterflies to me compared to this one!
2001, Tennessee and Moo St. I swear to God I thought the stadium was going to vibrate apart from all the noise and foot stomping!
I graduated in 2001 and was able to see every home game from 99-2001. It was an absolute blast to watch the Tigers emerge from darker times and begin the journey back to the top. Tiger stadium was loud, packed, and stayed that way through 4 quarters majority of the SEC games.

Nobody wants to lose, and I'm not saying I'm happy with how we played Saturday night. I want to see us win and I'd rather it be now than later, but the truth is winning isn't as exciting when it's 'expected' and believed to be a 'right'. I'm sure I'll be blasted for this, but I'm willing to bet Miss State fans enjoyed that win Saturday night more than Tiger fans would have had we won.

OP nailed it -

What was great about those years was that the fans were hungry and the stadium was electric and magical multiple times a year

That being said.....these guys better get their shite together or it's going to be a LONG few years!
Had to wait for everything to be 'set-up' before I could dig into the free ice cream they provided us at work today. Looking at a table full of ice cream toppings for 20 minutes was brutal....
Big Gulps, Big League Chew, MAD Magazine, those kites with eyes (the black ones were way cooler than those bunk white hawk looking ones!), balsa wood airplanes (with and w/o rubber band propeller), and of course whatever 2 video games were currently in store....... how I miss the 7-11! Solid post!
Was out there for a 2 week hitch a number of years ago. Depending on which accommodations you're staying in, it isn't too bad. I remember the showers being tiny but thats to be expected....food was good. I actually miss the 'roll' of the platform; made for a good nights/days sleep. Beats the hell out of some other places I've worked. Quite a few steps up to the rig floor though, so don't forget anything on your way up Be safe.
Two more LSU greats!! Hope they both go on to big things in the NFL and the rest if their lives.

So glad he came to LSU. I'm thrilled he will always be a representative for our university, he's a solid guy with good character. Best of luck to you young man, give em hell and never forget where you came from!

I am able to attend one game a year, and was fortunate enough to watch LF run wild against Ole Miss this year. It's a memory I will hold dear; the stadium was electric and I knew I was watching a Tiger that would be talked about for a long long time.

Leonard is a good guy, with character and humility that more often than not appears lacking in a lot of guys his age. I wish him well and only wish he could have stayed healthy this year and gone out on a higher note than this season ended up being.

Best of luck Leonard, and thanks for all the memories!
I had some type of Kabuki BMX bike I got from Capital Schwinn on Airline back in late 70's or early 80's. How many of you guys raced BMX there or at the other place in town (Dutches?) around that time period?
