re: Short passing game is the key

Formations and use of personell are what makes an offense "balanced" and keeps defenses honest. Bama makes use of personell and formation packages and stays away from major tendacies. That is, for example, a particular formation does not run strong side B or C gap 88% of the time. So in film study when your defense sees that formation they know and can cheat to anticipate that play. If you watch the LSU Bama game the lineman were anticipating LF7 play side and beating our linemen to the point of attack. You can get away with having tendacies when you are physically and talent wise superior to your opponent but not when equal.

Harris struggles were accuracy particulary in the Bama, Ole Miss and Arky games. I can only hope that 1. Sports Hernia injury contributed or 2. Harris becomes more confortable and gets the ball to our playmakers.
I remember a Les Miles quote years ago is that a play would not be run in a game unless it has been run to precision no less than 14 times in practice. This philosophy that is not uncommon and is coaching 101. From watching Les coach for the last 10 years his definition of precision must be literal because can not see QB play, for the lion share of his tenure, be precise 14 straight times.

Les would celebrate 110 Year anniversary of first American Football played on international soil with an exhibition Spring scrimmage with say... A U of Miami game?
Was at Arky game in south endzone and first few possessions were shotgun and 3 wide.
Harris was inaccurate on first down passes in most if not all of those possessions and that basically was that. Miles went back to running the ball as the only way to move ball consistently. We all know the end to that story.

Dillon Gordon timetable for ruling ?

Sorry if Germans but watching the games again he was a critical piece of the running game puzzle along with Moore. Nasty blocker and dominant at times. LF7 highlights he and Moore usually were the key blocks to second level. Is there a drop dead date on his eligibilty request ?

Sports heria injury is no joke. I am surprised he played at all enduring that pain. I respect him for his toughness and he looked much crisper in bowl game with 30 days rest. Expect him to become more balanced this year and look for check downs to LF7 and Guice to shore up short passing game.
