Wow. I stand corrected. Most of us referring to "on campus" really consider areas West of Highland and east of Nicholson as on campus. You know. Places where you actually went to class if you attended the university.

So YES. There is still free parking for LSU games. Actually, Parking spots at the Parker Agriculture center are still free, and the Parker lot is literally directly across Highland from where we currently tailgate. The TAF would like $11 thousand dollars in order to be able to purchase parking in lot 312 which (according to Google Maps) is .7 miles away from our gate in Tiger Stadium.
This has been in the works for the past 2 years. Last season they expanded the non-renewable parking to include every lot on campus. You had to get on the parking waiting list by March 31st this year to be eligible. The lot I wanted is a mile away from the stadium (on Tower Drive). TAF said I needed to be donating around $11 thousand a year to get a spot in that lot.

Amazing
How much does one have to donate to get a high enough priority point level to get any on campus, non renewable parking? I gave like a $100 on top of my tradition fund for two tickets in south endzone.

What should the student section prepare to chant if LSU is not smart enough to pull Perry's version of Eye of the Tiger off of the Big Video Screen system?
Also
What should the students prepare to chant when ESPN brings the topic up on Gameday this Saturday?

This could get really ugly?

Our thoughts and prayers for you and your family. Please update us when you get a chance.
The only real issue here is the inconvenience associated with buying the parking pass on the street. LSU should just add the charge to my season ticket invoice and give me a sticker or mirror tag. LSU would get the money in advance, and they can benefit from the interest income. Heck, they can even add a convenience charge to make more money. I will gladly pay it. Some of us working folks are too busy to deal with getting in line to buy anything.

tiger91 2011 Parking Situation Say you're a Tiger fan in another state that makes the trek to every home game ... they'll NEVER get here in time early enough on Friday to get a pass for parking. I mean, some people have JOBS ... and can't just take off every Friday during football season ... And no, I'm not in this category ... just making an observation.

tigert91, Your observation is correct. The out of towners are really getting screwed on this one.

Hey kevg33,
Do we want to be like Most Schools? Most schools don't tailgate anywhere near as Big as LSU!

Hey Bamaland....

If it is not us it will be someone else from Tower drive. Take a walk in that area for the Ole Miss Game on Saturday and look at how many folks are there that obviously will not be able to afford $40 for each game. The $20 spots are going to go FAST! They will be gone on Friday nights.

I predict that the Front Nine lot will likely be filled with overnighters. Could be a lot of fun.

I copied Joe Alleva and Herb Vincent last night on this message that I sent to my tailgate crew.

"We all knew that this was coming. An extra $320 to $360 bucks isn't that big of a deal, however they figured out a way to make this a cumbersome process.

Their decision to not sell the parking permit in advance is another example of potential lost revenue for the university. They could collect the parking fee at the same time that season tickets are due. That would produce additional revenue for the university while allowing the Fans to avoid the hassle of purchasing parking passes before every game.

Instead, we are stuck with a system that will ensure more traffic congestion during game day. Can you imagine the lines involved with 8,000 - 10,000 cars trying to pay cash for a parking space. The traffic jam on Highland road will likely extend to Burbank.

Our friend from Duke is too far removed from the common fan. He simply does not get it."

below is the link to lsusports regarding this development.

Hey Bamaland,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but...
Not only is it $20 per car, but (as FLTiga mentioned in the leading post) YOUR SPOT JUST BECAME MUCH HIGHER DEMAND. Where do you think all the folks on Tower Drive will be looking for cheaper parking? The size of your tailgate just got smaller, and you will have to take Friday off so you can be there at 5pm, or you may not get anything.
Our tailgate is currently on Tower and we can not afford $40, but we can deal with $20. We are looking seriously at the front nine. This is going to be a big ole mess! Thanks Alleva (the small thinker)!

It is a service provided by Guarantee Broadcasting through www.Nabbit.com. It was brilliant for Guarantee to have the foresight to take the key word baseball with the Nabbit service.

I think they are more likey to go with a deck type design in the end-zone rather than traditional staggerd setback bleachers. Check out the design for the new Texas Stadium. It will hold an additional 25,000 in the endzone deck.
