Dude you’re always quick to freak out about something. Take a deep breath
I trust the Trump administration and have been very pleased with handling of foreign issues up to this point. If we do end up doing something in all of this, I don’t see how it’s not within the next 24-48 hours. Feels like it’s nut crunching time

Yall hiring Cohen away from us was such a head scratcher. He’s terrible
quote:

He said he attends her church regularly, but she's only been to Mass with him once. I mean, I'm not sure why he has to just bend over to what she wants, either.

Thank you
quote:

I'm sure there a lot more to the story but this one statement kinda sounds like you're the one unwilling to compromise.

For instance, I will attend her church with her as often as she goes, but I will not be guilt tripped for attending Saturday night/Sunday night Mass in addition to going to her church on Sunday mornings.
quote:

am saying this as a friend and a brother in the faith - you need to really give some serious thought to whether you are being motivated by genuine faith which is of the Holy Spirit, or by spiritual pride which is of the evil one.

How so? I’m being motivated by where I feel closest to Christ—which for me happens to be the Catholic Church.
quote:

Is sounds like you are locked on religion and not Christianity. Both churches are Christian and they worship differently. But they both worship our Lord and Savior. Jesus was a Jew. When His disciples came to him and complained that others outside their group were preaching in His Name. He told them not to admonish them.

I’m not admonishing anybody
quote:

Convert Catholic much? Judge yourself hoss. Less is more, you are not a Doctor of the Church. You hear it “a lot” because a bunch of folks regularly reinforce the stereotype. Such as yourself.

Believing in one, Holy, Catholic and apostolic Church and then shaming people who convert to said Church is an interesting mix
quote:

Well, I was raised Catholic. What you are describing is communion in a Protestant church. The Eucharist is a step farther through transubstantiation.

No, communion in this particular church is strictly a symbol—according to them. If they believed it to be any more than that, they would offer it every time they gathered and not just a few times per year. They also wouldn’t instruct you to throw away your cup as you leave the building if they believed it held the true body and blood of Christ.
quote:

Ugh Cradle Catholics >>>>>>>> Convert Catholics IYKYK

This is such a ridiculous statement that I hear a lot. If you’re a Catholic you should be ashamed of yourself
quote:

Why? Even in a Protestant church, it's a representation of the body of Christ. While you may believe it actually becomes the body of Christ in your own church, why would you refuse to eat a wafer in a Protestant church to honor Jesus? That's pretty disrespectful to our Lord and Savior, IMO. What a ridiculous hill to kill a relationship on. You sound like a new Catholic who can't get over himself. Hint: Jesus wasn't a Catholic either...

You’re quick to throw accusations at someone you don’t know anything about. Refrain from that.

To answer your question, though, communion for Catholics is acknowledgement of the Church and its teachings, and an open expression that you practice the teachings of the Church (community=communion). If I truly believe in the true substance, which I do, I’m not going take communion at a place who very openly doesn’t believe what I do. It would make me a hypocrite
quote:

First question should be what faith are your kids going to be ?

As the spiritual shepherd of the household, the most important job I’ll ever have is raising my kids to follow Christ. You can follow Christ and be a Protestant, sure. It’s important to me that my future kids attend Mass with their father, at least until they are of age and sound mind to make their own decisions. But I do wonder if seeing dad go to mass and take communion, while mom doesn’t, and vice versa at her church, would be good for their faith development.
quote:

You’re going to have to come off of this. God doesn’t care about this and you shouldn’t care about what some nerds in Italy s

“Coming off of this” would be the equivalent of me demanding that she convert to Catholicism, which I’d never do
quote:

Does your girlfriend attend Mass with you?

She has once. I tell her when I’m going and she knows the invitation is always open. She never volunteers to
quote:

So your girlfriend is mad that you go to church to support her but also go to your own church? Does she want you to stop going to you mass and only go the non denominational?

She has a big problem with me not taking communion at her church. I’ve explained this in a peaceful way. I’ve stayed away from trying to make it an “I’m right, you’re wrong” thing. I’ve just told her it’s a strong conviction of mine and one I will not compromise on
The reason I ask is because I am currently in a relationship where it has become a big deal. I converted to Catholicism 2 years ago. I guess I could be labeled as a “devout” Catholic at this point.

I attend my girlfriend’s non denom church and do sometimes enjoy the sermons. I’m not just there to check it off the list. However, mass each Sunday is a must for me, and I will only take communion at the Catholic Church. These two things have become an issue
We probably have SEALS deployed all over the world so it might not mean anything whatsoever, but I know for 100% fact we have a full team of SEALS stationed in Taiwan

They’re the opposite of bitch made imo. Good for them
