Alabama makes the playoffs again and the rant turns to liquid
“which coincidentally matches the amount of points Alabama lost the Rose Bowl by”

This coming from a fan of a team that hasn’t beaten Bama since 2006 and can only wet dream about playing in the Rose Bowl.
Jax St is really good but I get what you’re saying.
Yessir. Without the portal and NIL the Big 10 would still be runners up in title games.

It’s why there’s no movement to change this from the government. Too many high ranking Big 10 folks in Washington. They talk about changes to our face and giggle when they walk out. This was setup by the very people I am talking about. Mountains of cash meeting open free agency. This isn’t changing anytime soon. The rest of the country will continue to be blown out in tournaments and playoffs and will like it. It was the only way the Big 10 could become dominant and they knew it. It’s why they pushed for the current setup.
With NIL and the portal currently as is no conference can beat the Big 10. If caps and transfer limits come around the Big 10 will be relegated to being the blown out opponents in national title games again.

The answer to your question is salary caps and transfer limits. Period.
It’s not that the B1G is just paying, they are paying ungodly amounts. Michigan just started 5 transfers and Indiana friggin Ana just won a title in football. This isn’t about paying a high schooler that you still have to develop to come to your school, this is paying professional salaries to players on current university rosters to borrow players for a year.
NIL and the B1G were a match made in heaven. Endless dollars meeting open free agency.

They will never admit it but if NIL and the portal hadn’t come along they would still be licking our boot heels.
Sooner or later these bought championships have to start ringing hollow.
I had no idea Bama was 8 in baseball. Did everybody else quit playing? I’m sure this won’t last.
AU finishing the season with a 69th place finish is quite the achievement
“They just hired Mike Malone per reports online. It would appear that the job is still very appealing.”

Yea, he was literally like the 4th or 5th pick. Fact is blueblood status isn’t what it was 20 years ago. Back in the day all schools offered a car. With everything being equal a kid chose the blueblood, the coach chose the blueblood. Now, the B1G is offering generational wealth that the SEC or the ACC just can’t hang with. It’s ALL about NIL now. A guy can coach football at Texas tech, have a comparable salary and unlimited NIL and win games he couldn’t have won before. He doesn’t have to coach at Bama or Notre Dame. Same with basketball. UNC isn’t a job you cant turn down now. The coach means little now. Indiana just won the title…in football FFS. All about the dollars now.

“If that’s what they want 2 do we should cancel all Conference Championship games . “

Nah, let the other conferences have to play that extra game. The first year the B1G doesnt win it all they’ll cancel their championship the next day.
If there’s ever a cap put on NIL the SEC will go back to owning you.
Gmac was born in L.A. not surprised by this.
Who are these high profile coaches?

Lane Kiffin-dude has won nothing and hasn’t even been interviewed when blueblood jobs came open outside of USC and I can promise you they would never entertain the thought of bringing him back.
Will wade- LOL
Kim Mulkey- isn’t she from right down the road in Hammond?
Baseball coach- yes, LSU is a better job. There are only a handful of programs in the national that actually invest in baseball with LSU being the most invested. With what they put into baseball they can get anybody.

it’s not like LSU landed Urban, Dan Hurley or Brad Stevens
Seriously, probably more than people would think
“They play a physical brand of football and basketball - the SEC does not. Nowadays, the SEC is more run and shoot, including the best teams in the league.

The B10 will line up and blow you off the ball. In both sports”

This. When the SEC played smash mouth nobody could touch us. It’s a bunch of idiots running 40yds to pick up 2 now. In basketball the BIG has low post players that rebound and are physical. The BIG kept the simple formula in sports while the SEC got cute.

" so I consent after letting the officer know where my loaded gun was located.“

So, did you say officer, I’d like to let you know sir that I have a weapon in the glove compartment that you are welcome to.
Or
Say nothing, open up the glove compartment and just tap on the handle while looking the officer in the eyes
“days of a single AD might be coming to an end”

I doubt it. Ego’s will get in the way. No way in hell the LSU AD is cool with what happened after he and the governor went and hired the fans choice for football and basketball only to be told now to sit over there and we’ll let u know if we need anything.
You can tell the obsession is starting to thankfully drop off. Saban going to Bama was more than they could take and now it’s just gonna settle back into another game. LSU fans will know how it was as they will have to deal with Ole Miss fans and the Kiffin thing now. I will go ahead and tell them it’s going to be a huge pain in the a$$ for many years.
Yea, today was not great but sometimes you just need to win. This isn’t the Dale Brown days when you hoped for a split over 4 years. Bama was playing a bad team that has very little talent and only won by single digits. Not gonna go far this year. Sorry my Bama brethren.
Eh, today wasnt the prettiest win but it works. Bama was a little sluggish today. I figured about a 20 point win but whatever.
