In Florida, there are too many bad driving incidents to remember what the worst one was.

I've accidentally opened a thread about women's sports once or twice before. I think I already said that earlier in the thread. That's the gayest thing I've ever done.
Have you ever accidentally clicked on a thread about women's sports?
I think I've accidentally done that once or twice before. And I think that's even more gay than a thread about soccer.

re: The 1987 WGN Hack
Posted by UFFan on 4/17/26 at 3:58 pm to Clyde Tipton
Some people theorize it really wasn't a hard hacking job, and it really might have just been some 20 year olds who were slightly more tech savvy than an average person. In fact, it's sometimes further theorized that this is precisely why the investigation was so opaque, because if the investigators were transparent than they'd have basically been telling everybody about how they could hack their local TV station with just $70 of equipment that you could buy at your local Sears.
They might be shopping for men's things too. On the rare occasions when men go to the mall, they usually bring their wives along, so that way the men won't be accused of being gay.
The 1987 WGN Hack

What I find to be weirdest about this is how nobody has taken credit for it. It seems like the hackers should have admitted who they were on the day after the 5 year statute of limitations expired. Then again, maybe part of the fun of the hacking was leaving people wondering for years who the hackers were.

Oh, tigerdroppings has an emoji to fit the thread, which looks exactly like the most infamous part of the hacking.

Spirit has been on the verge of bankruptcy for about 2 years now. Now the Iran War and the corresponding rise of oil prices will be the last nail in the coffin for them. The rise in oil prices basically sets a floor for how low an airline can charge for tickets and still be able to make a profit.

Some of Spirit's former clients will probably now be unable to afford to fly at all. But those that are able to stretch their saving and save up enough income from their low wage job to go on a vacation about once a year will unfortunately be on other flights.

Don't really care that much in a vaccuum, but it probably will bring up the prices of other flights a bit.
Plus now the trashy people who used to be on Spirit will now be on other flights.

There are some fringe people who almost seem pro-Islamic Republic, but I don’t think those people are very likely to be on tigerdroppings. If you want to see those people, look at some far left like literally communist subreddit or something. Those people’s support of Iran doesn’t really boil down to much more than “anybody who opposes Israel is good”, and the white western tankers either aren’t very knowledgeable of how Iran is (ie oppressing women, forcing sex change operations to make LGB people transgender, and how they treated socialists after the 1979 Revolution), or they are aware of those things but Iran’s anti-Israel stances trumps everything to the white Western tankies.
But although the Islamic Republic is certainly bad, there really was no reason for the US to get involved in this war. There are plenty of other bad governments that we don’t go to war to overthrow.

re: Homeless People with Pets
Posted by UFFan on 4/17/26 at 10:56 am to Hangover Haven
Yeah, some of them might have the dogs as an insurance against arrest, especially once you consider how the homeless guy getting arrested on even a minor charge would sometimes end up really harming the dog, and the police would likely be aware of this.
LINK
The dogs are usually kept in a temporary holding area after the owner gets arrested. But in some jurisdictions, they might move into the general dog pound population in just the period of time it takes the homeless person to get released on recognizance by a judge. (Which is the only way a homeless person can get released pre-trial, since they obviously won’t be able to afford to pay even a cheap monetary bail.)
Then the homeless person would be unable to afford to pay the $200 or so it takes to get the dog out of the pound. And at that point, the dog would be as likely as any other dog in the pound to eventually be euthanized.

re: Why are people so obsessed with Israel-Palestine?
Posted by UFFan on 4/17/26 at 10:36 am to MrBobDobalina
As I discussed in my post, we were funding the Saudi war on Yemen, which people like you never cared about or even knew was happening until Israel was forced to also join that. Really, we’re basically funding the Sudan War, but people like you don’t care about that either.

Posted by UFFan on 4/17/26 at 10:08 am
They never care about Sudan and Myanmar. I don't think they even have heard of those crises, let alone care about them. If you ask most Americans (especially the type of Americans who go to pro-Palestine protests) where Sudan and Myanmar even are, most of them would probably guess that Sudan is the country south of Mexico, and Myanmar is two countries south of Mexico. They also never cared about Yemen when that was just a Saudi-Yemen conflict and Israel hadn't entered yet. (They probably would have guessed that Yemen is the country 3 countries south of Mexico lol.) And the Saudi-Yemen conflict was every bit as funded by US taxpayers as the Gaza conflict was. And, actually, the Sudan conflict is basically funded by the US, due to our funding of the UAE which in turn funds the RSF.
Yeah, I get the greater concern about the Iran War due to the US' really direct involvement in that, but these people were obsessing on Israel-Palestine (and no other conflicts) even before the Iran War.

re: Top Blue Bloods of all time list
Posted by UFFan on 4/17/26 at 9:24 am to ukraine_rebel
Most lists would have ND, Alabama, Michigan and Ohio State as the top 4, with Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska and USC rounding out the top 8. I guess some lists might now rank Nebraska lower due to their suckage since 2001 and especially since Pelini's firing.
Miami at #4 is a joke. They aren't even the #4 team since the 1980s anymore, with their suckage for about 20 years prior to last year. And they were a total non-entity before the 1980s.

re: How many white people in Louisiana have Spanish last names?

I knew about how a lot of the Cubans here in Fla are descended from Canary Islanders, but I didn't know the same is true about the Spanish people in Louisiana.
Anyway, can you really describe people of Canarian descent as white? I mean, the Canary Islands are almost off the coast of sub-Saharan Africa, and the Spanish Canarians are supposed to have bred pretty heavily with the native Guanches there.

There's the famed Leander Perez. How many other white people from long time families in Louisiana have Spanish last names?
Providing the Hepatitis B Vaccine at Birth When the Mother Doesn't Have Hepatitis B

Can anybody explain this to me? Quite honestly, it sounds pedophilic to me.
Like unless the mother has Hep B, how is the baby going to get Hep B?
