They should honestly look into that. Supercars races 3x a weekend most of the year. I know road races and ovals are apples and oranges, but it can be done. Let teams increase car counts to 10 per number.

I mean I’d like to see a 40 race schedule. With several races being doubleheader weekends and a round overseas. I know how unlikely that is, but a man can dream.

I don’t see why not. Mexico City and Montreal are closer to Charlotte than California. What’s one date a year?

Going to Atlanta is a marketing ploy and nascar has admitted to that. I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

My 6 road/street races:
COTA 3rd race
Mexico late April
Street race early June
Canada late July/early August
Watkins mid-September
Sonoma 3rd to last race

If you wanted to limit border crossings, alternate Mexico and Canada and add a place like Portland or road America.

If Mexico gets cup then Canada gets O’Reilly and vice versa. That way it locks in that weekend for that track.

Take road courses off the schedule and you become irrelevant to the rest of the world. I know nascar is American, but people overseas do watch. The road courses present a link.

To quote the guys from apex hunters united in Australia. I came for the road courses, now I’m staying for the ovals.

How many road races is appropriate for the cup schedule? I still say 6 is the right number.

Brad Keselowski is bitching fresh off the first of FOUR saying we run too many.

Says he has a hard time selling sponsors for the road races. Don’t think Trackhouse has trouble. Brads issue might be his roster.

Hat tip to Reddick. Best road racer in nascar stalking him. Didn’t put a wheel wrong.

That 97 car seemed off all weekend and still nearly won the race. Shane drug that car to a 2nd place finish.

I’d love to see broc in a cup car.

Shout out to SVG with a p6. Drove from back to front 3 times and was a tight set of corners away from a top 5. Incredible

SVG doesn’t have to do anything. The self proclaimed goat took that risk when he tried to exit the interstate from 6 lanes over.

It would’ve been interesting if they could’ve had a longer run. SVG fell victim to restart shenanigans.

When did it start on Fox 8? I never saw it. And didn’t even try after halfway.

Least you were able to DVR it. Fox 8 fricked all of south Louisiana. Had to watch on the app. Will have to watch replay on YouTube once they upload.

That race reminded me of a Ron White line…

“We’re traveling at half the speed of smell. We got passed by a kite!”

frick you Fox 8 and Gayle! They had an option to show the NASCAR race or the local news and regular programing. They switched it over to bounce TV that you must have rabbit ears for I live in an area that I cannot pick up Baton Rouge or New Orleans stations via antenna very disappointed.

I came here to say this. They do not give a frick about nascar. Not a second of nascar on Fox 8 tonight. Judge Judy, local news, and jeopardy on instead.

frick this channel. Gayle can leave NOLA. Don’t care what she takes with her.

I got Blaney winning it all this year.

My Chase field:
Larson
Briscoe
Bell
Hamlin
Elliott
Byron
Reddick
Wallace
Logano
Buescher
Van Gisbergen
Preece
Chastain
Bowman
Hocevar
I’d rather the clash be on a local short track that nascar could build up. It’s an exhibition after all.

However, if they opted to kill it, I’d be fine too.
Eh. I don’t think street courses are gimmicks. They’re used all over the world. They’re relevant to the international audience. Plus I don’t know how many more purpose built road courses are getting built.

It’s a way to bring a track to an area that doesn’t have one. I think the lakefront airport would actually make a great race track.

I’d like both options. But I question whether Laguna Seca is wide enough. But trans am and imsa run there. So maybe?
I do too. Been wanting that to happen. I just don’t want to see the number of road races dwindle. I loathed the schedules growing up. Always liked the road races more.

Maybe I’m in the minority but why are road courses in nascar so polarizing? Those are my favorite events. I watch a ton of road racing, but still prefer nascar to stay an oval-dominated series. Why do people look at 5-6 road courses as too many? Hell some say 2 is too many. I don’t understand that.

I will die on the hill that 6 is the right number.
