Originally I was considering Indiana because they've never won a national championship in football.

However, as the week is going by I start seeing comments that this Hoosier team is just as good if not better than the 2019 LSU Tigers. Which is BS and a loss would end all that talk.

That along with Big 10 schools having won the National Championship the last two years and I don't want their fanbase spewing nonsense about their conference being the dominant one.

As much as I hate it I might want to pull for Miami.

What say you?

FYI , if you " don't care" , that's great , you don't need to answer, because frankly I don't care.

Drew Brees was 27 in 2006

Shough turned 26 this year and will turn 27 in week 4 of 2026

Rattler turned 25 this year and will turn 26 in week 4 of 2026

Chambliss will be 24 by the start of the 2026 season

I never understood why people were concerned about how old Shough was coming into the season?

To me his age was actually a benefit, especially for a position as important as quarterback. A little more mature and more focused.

Now if he played a different position like running back or wide receiver then yes his age would be a major concern.

Move :insert: to guard. This is like the rally cry on this board. It doesn't work like that.

I don’t get it either

A lot on here probably think that if they could do it on Madden, then it can probably work in real life too!!! ??
Best sport besides football

I would have to agree.

I'm a southern man , born and raised, but we have minor league hockey here and it's far more popular than any other sport they have tried here.

It's fast pace with the occasional fight breaking out.

IMO , better than running up and down the court with orange ball and doing the occasional dunk or hanging on the rim.

Only downside of hockey is the low scoring.
I say three.

That's including two Thursday night games ( one of them possibly Thanksgiving and possibly Detroit) and one Monday night game.

I see the Monday night game being either Chicago or the Giants

If we do Paris , I see us losing our home game to Vikings or Steelers

He is right. Rattler faced much harder opponents than Shough.

I’m not totally convinced on Shough beating the worst teams in the NFL. Rattler played decent. The team wasn’t as good early in the year and they played better teams then than Shough had to face.

We weren’t winning those early games either with Shough starting instead of Rattler.

Well to be fair, Rattler already had some starting experience from the previous season. A full season acclimating to the NFL

He had a full starting line, Kamara behind him, and two starting WRs to throw too.

Yet only one win? And that was the Giants having turnover after turnover.

That wasn't Rattler, that was our defense. That should have been an easy win for Rattler.

That was Rattler not f@cking up !!

I was right on our record being 6-11 or 7- 10 team.

I was right that we would win more on the back end of the season.

I was right that we were going to sweep at least one division team. And I guessed right on the Panthers.

As far as Shough ? I was neither right or wrong about him. On draft day I liked him better than any of the other quarterbacks except for Dart. I liked the size and I was not scared of his injury history. His age did not concern me one bit.
But I thought it'd take him at least 2 to 3 years and/or he might be a career backup.

I was wrong about Cam Jordan responding to this defense. I thought he wouldn't get a lot if sacks.

I was wrong about Kool-aid stepping up big as #1 corner.

I was wrong about Kamara blowing it up this year in Coach Moore's offense.

I was wrong about both guards stepping up this year.

A reminder the Falcons have no first round pick and a very unsettled QB situation.

Exactly how can they attract a decent GM and coach? ??
I imagine it's the same way that we feel about Saban.

I get why they are ticked, they are looking at NC and he left them high and dry
I get the whole better draft position and easier schedule thing.......

However I just cannot pull for the Saints to lose against the damn Falcons.

Couple of reasons

1) We lost to the Cardinals ( yes I know it was Rattler)

2) Never know what teams will be like the following year ( see Bears this year)

3) Never really know how a high draft pick is going to work out ( see Ryan Leaf, Jamarcus Russell, etc)

4) It's the damn Falcons!!!!

Losing to them , means they swept us, and are 2 games up on the overall record.

This season has not been great but little slivers of joy have come out of it.

It looks like we have our quarterback

And I would like to even the record against the damn Falcons at their house. End this season on high note, while irritating them.

It just goes against my nature to root for the Saints to lose, especially to the damn Falcons.
I thought they might lose, but to watch them get dismantled was a good time indeed.

_______________________________________

Yeah the only downside to them losing is listening to Big 10 fans circle jerking themselves on the strength of their conference compared to the SEC.

Other than that , I love it that they got blown out.
To make the playoffs next year the Saints might want to lose this week.

_________________________________________

I get what you are driving at, but I rather beat the damn Falcons and keep our overall record even with them ( plus I don't want to give their fan base any joy that they swept us going into the offseason)

Also I don't want the Buccaneers to win , giving them five straight years of an NFC South title

Besides we never know what teams are going to be like next year, so I wouldn't worry too much about their opponents.
Must suck
-------------------------------------------------------

Only matters if they're knocked out one game away from the Super Bowl.
But had we won some of those Rattler might still be the starter. I’m glad things have gone the way they have. Now just finish 1-1 and go into the offseason on a high note.

Agreed, had they won those games, we may have never known if Shough is good until next year.

Plus that time on bench probably helped him better than getting thrown into the deep right off the bat.

Not going to question it.

A win against the Jets at home will just do wonders for his confidence. Experience is experience whether it’s a win or a loss so that’s a dumbass statement to make.

So tell me, how does your colon look with your head so far up it ?

It's not a dumbass statement, just a loser mentality on your behalf.

A win at home vs the Jets gives you hope? So much that you would rather have a less talented player on your team next year to acquire this magical win?

________________________________________________

No idiot, it gives me hope that we have our QB and that he gets another win under his belt. Great for his confidence and experience

You always want to win, doesn't matter who you play.

Besides , you never know what you get with a high draft pick. You could get a bust like Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russell, Charles Rogers, or Tony Mandarich.

Never been a fan of Ross Tucker

So ?

Rather have the win and have hope for next season.

Plus be nice going into Christmas with a win
