I''' laughing at the OG about his whole split nation thing, but there was a lot of concern about Obama declaring martial law from a lot of people. He's leaving office because he has to, not willingly.

These cannons wouldn't be going off if our defense could tackle and stop committing penalties. With that said I expect a sh*t show from the defense, not the offense.

I want my money back...

Posted by GoCards83 on 12/11/16 at 4:00 pm
I''m at this game and this is BS. At least try to score offense, just pathetic.
I seriously doubt it, the SECCG is a huge event with many events leading up to it throughout the week. It would be a logistical nightmare to reschedule it this late. Plus is the Georgia Dome even available the following weekend?
I live in the Orlando area (Celebration) so I'm hoping I'm far enough inland to not have catastrophic damage. Hoping just to have some trees come down and at worse minor damage, hopefully nothing more.

God bless everyone else in the path of this storm.

It is already clear that there is no chance a game would be played outside of Gainesville.

There's no way it was going to be played outside of Gainesville this weekend. I can understand UF not wanting to lose a home game. If you make this proposition though with SEC approval I'm guessing Foley would be a lot more receptive to it. UF is losing a home game this year which is going to cost them a lot of money, this would help them get that money back next year. It also helps LSU make it a true home game atmosphere instead of just a makeshift home game atmosphere which would be lucky to be more than half full.
quote:

frick no. Maybe they can have it 17 and we get it back in 18 but not both.

That would be hypocritical considering LSU would've gotten it in both 15 and 16. Plus if you didn't do it this way the schedule would be thrown off every single year.

Just don't cry when you're sitting at home watching Bama win another SEC Championship.
LSU, out of their own arrogance they have just essentially forfeited the SEC West. They still had a chance to run the table and control their own destiny.

UF is very mediocre this year and loses to either UGA or Arkansas if not both.
Would you LSU fans go for this scenario?

UF comes to BR on 11/19 for the game. SEC buys out both the previously schedule LSU and UF games. LSU as well as the BR community lose no home game revenue.

LSU then has to play UF in Gainesville in 2017 AND 2018 before returning to the traditional rotation.

That might be LSU's solution right there if their AD is smart enough to even think about it.

This needs elaboration.

Simple, UF is offering to play on 11/19. And before you moan about LSU having to buy out the USA game, the SEC has already offered to pay the buy out. Never mind UF is willing to pay the buyout for their patsy game that weekend. UF most likely didn't want their players to have to worry about family and friends back home and have to play a football game. We've all seen those situations, the players are rarely into the game.

It was the right call not to have the game this weekend and LSU is coming off as extremely inflexible regarding the scheduling in a tough situation.

Agreed, from a neutral perspective I can tell you right now it's LSU, not UF, that's looking bad regarding this whole situation.

You must get punched a lot

You can shift the blame to LSU all you want, but it's UF's fault it got to this point

It doesn't matter who's fault it is at this point, the situation is what it is. But again, is your administration going to be so stubborn that they will screw your football players out of a chance at playing in Atlanta for an SEC title? If they don't reschedule that's exactly what's going to happen and you might as well end LSU football for the year.

Must be sad, in a month going from National Title contenders to being out of the SEC West race before you even play Alabama.

Are you going to be the one who has the guts to go into that locker room and tell the LSU players they have been eliminated from the SEC title race in early October because you all are too stubborn to reschedule the game on 11/19?

Whether you like it or not this is the situation and that is your choice. I'd put aside your hatred of UF and the situation and schedule the game on 11/19 for the sake of the players.

Very true. UF negotiated well.

Still cowards.

I never said UF handled this well, they didn't. With that said LSU fans seem like they are entitled to have this game at TS just because the USC game was moved to TS last year.

My guess is UF would've moved the game to TS if the game next year gets moved to Gainesville but I'm guessing you all wanted none of that either.

Again if you all actually beat Bama you will fold and do anything to play UF as you all need the game far more than UF does. Heck if I was Foley I would make LSU pay their own buyout for the USA game if you all want to play UF so badly. Or again just refuse the play and screw LSU out of a shot at going to Atlanta.

re: per Brett McMurphy..........

Haha LSU scared of UF.

Guess you LSU fans don't care about going to Atlanta this year for the SEC Championship. You all must be very excited to watch daddy, oops I mean Alabama, win another SEC title.

LSU fan behavior...

Posted by GoCards83 on 10/6/16 at 5:03 pm
After the way LSU fans have behaved regarding the LSU-UF game, if I was UF AD Foley I wouldn't even bother to reschedule the game. I'd do my best to stick it to LSU.

You LSU fans seem to be forgetting something very important in all of this. When it comes to rescheduling LSU needs the game far more than UF does. So all your conditions (it being played in BR, UF has to pay out USA and the loss of home game revenue) are laughable considering it is going to be a negotiation and UF is negotiating from a position of strength, while LSU is negotiating from a position of WEAKNESS.

What does UF gain by the game. UF lost the SEC East last Saturday when UT beat UGA. UT gets to play Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Missouri and South Carolina, those are all wins for the Vols. Yes they will probably lose to Bama and A&M will be a test but I think they beat A&M. Even if UT lost to both Bama and A&M the UF team would have to be perfect from here on out and UF has a tough schedule with UGA and Arkansas remaining.

LSU on the other hand still has a very realistic shot at the SEC Title Game, but not if they piss off UF. To you LSU fans who say don't reschedule unless you get all your ridiculous concessions, lets be honest, are you going to go in there and tell the LSU players that despite all their hard work, they did it for nothing because you all are going to hold a grudge. I seriously doubt that, at the end of the day LSU will cancel the USA game and go to Gainesville. Heck the SEC has said they would pay out the USA game contract, so that's not even out of the pockets of LSU.

The fact is if I was Jeremy Foley right now, I would say we're considering rescheduling. Then if LSU beats Bama, the very next day announce that UF is not interested in rescheduling and that the game will be cancelled. The melt on here would just be so tremendous.
We're not done yet!!! Damnit we're not done yet. TD MFs, we're winning this 52-28 and all of you will eat your words!! :)
It wouldn't surprise me if the Auburn game is the last time you ever see Fournette in an LSU uniform. Nothing to play for now, no NC, no playoffs and most likely no chance at even an SEC or SEC West title.

At this point he needs to shut it down, focus on the NFL draft, especially recovering and getting to 100% for the combine.
quote:

And they say Alabama fans have unrealistic expectations.

I'm no LSU fan but Alabama fans saying they have realistic expectations is just beyond absurd.

Newsflash to you Bama fans, if Les Miles had been your coach he would've been canned after the 2014 season at the latest.

re: Miles contract situation..

Posted by GoCards83 on 9/25/16 at 3:15 pm to
Haha recruiting wouldn't work as there would be differences in what players they would want. With that said though, I think it's a good idea. Miles is going to get his money anyway, why not make him at least earn it instead of just giving it to him?

Plus again he has always come to me as a genuinely good guy, a guy you would want representing your university. Just change how he represents it the rest of the season. I think it would work for both sides.

Miles contract situation..

Posted by GoCards83 on 9/25/16 at 3:04 pm
So to chime in on all the situation with LSU and Miles, I've heard a lot of you say that it would not be advantageous to fire him now due to his contract. While I obviously don't know specifics about his contract, it's still obvious that Miles is hurting the LSU program with his old outdated ways of thinking, especially on offense.

If I was LSU, why not just give Miles an honorary head coach position, some sort of Head Coach Emeritus position, similar to what UT gave Pat Summit at the end of her career and life, or similar to what Steve Spurrier is now at UF. Let him do some good for the university, he could fundraise, go to booster events and represent LSU in a positive manner, while letting Orgeron actually run the LSU football team on an interim basis.

Doing that, LSU could give Orgeron a trial run. They could keep him if he does well and they are unable to get Herman, Fisher, Kiffin or Kelly. If they do get one of those candidates than of course he's gone. Then at the end of the season Miles can either resign, retire or be fired. Who knows, if he does a really good job just keep him on in the Steve Spurrier type role, as a representative to the university. In the very least though it helps with not ending the contract early while still getting him out of the football program. It would most likely help to eliminate bad publicity for the university as well.

We had the #1 pass defense last year.... This has to be a troll alter.

And yet the UGA defense gave up 20 to a putrid South Carolina offense, 27 to a putrid Florida offense, 38 to Alabama, 38 to Tennessee, 17 to Georgia Southern and 14 to Louisiana Monroe. Not exactly a dominating defense.

Can you at least admit that you were wrong about Grantham in regards to UofL? When we hired Grantham all you UGA fans invaded our board laughing at us and saying our defense would get worse every year Grantham was here. Not only has that NOT happened but it's been the opposite, Grantham's defenses have gotten better each year here at UofL. This year's defense might be the best defense ever at UofL, even better than our defenses under Charlie Strong.
quote:

Yeah, I mean Grantham only had a defense full of guys who are starting on Sundays right now, but it wasn't his fault the defense played like trash under his watch.

And yet once again here at UofL he has created a defense that UGA could only dream of. Yet again the only variable is the program.
quote:

I still cry from time to time wishing he'd come back and give up more first downs on 3rd and 15

Funny how these 3rd down collapses kept happening at UGA after he left and how suddenly Grantham comes to UofL and 3rd down defense is no problem at all. The only logical variable there is the school.

Maybe your UGA players were just not as mentally tough as our UofL players.
quote:

Ok bud

Name the time and place, just make sure your UGA team has the guts to show up. Something tells me after our beatdown of FSU little UGA will want nothing to do with my Cards!

My guess is 56 - 24 with UGA scoring a late TD to try to make it more respectable. Make no doubt about it, your UGA team wants no part of our team this year and deep down you know it.
quote:

you act like you outbid us for that fat frick.

He's better than the defensive coordinator you replaced him with and our defense is far superior to the defense UGA has this year. Again I think it's becoming more obvious the problem wasn't Grantham, it was the UGA program.

Keep talking about 2 years ago, last time I checked we're in the National Championship hunt and you'll be lucky to win the SEC East. :)
No alter, I'm a diehard UofL fan, graduated from the business school in 2007. Was here a few years ago under a different UofL name but make no doubt, I am a UofL fan.
quote:

Shut up line beard

Haha a little chippy are we UGA fan? Still bitter that we poached Grantham away from you and that he has one of the best defenses in the nation? Maybe the problem wasn't Grantham but the UGA program.

And what's the deal with line beards, yeah sorry but I actually do like a good shaven line beard. I'm more of a full beard guy myself but I don't see anything wrong with line beards. At least our fans have all our teeth compared to most UGA fans.
I will say this too, Lamar Jackson and our offense would've already scored 28 on this putrid GT team.
Laugh at me if you want, but there are several things that do surprise me about this Clemson team. I'm just amazed how slow they look on offense compare to our offense and how inferior Deshaun Watson looks compared to Action Jackson!

Yes call me arrogant, call me overconfident, but watching the Clemson-GT game I'm getting more and more convinced that we'll beat them as bad as we beat FSU.
