re: LSUS Online MBA Reviews

Posted by bmcmil2 on 4/29/18 at 9:10 am to
Just finished up the program. Felt like I got a lot out of it and have recommended LSUS to several people thinking about getting their MBA. I had positive feedback on every course I took with some room for improvements except for ECON with white.. maybe the fact it was my last class and I was at a point I just wanted to get through it. My biggest complaint was the grammar and type of questions on the test. Seemed they were meant to confuse and multiple questions on the test just didn’t make sense. It also shows that half the students that started the course dropped it. I am not sure what the typical drop rate is and yes I like to see some sort of drop rate but half seems a bit much. Anyway.. good luck to everyone in the program, personally I think you made a good choice and i definitely came away with some useful information.

Anyone else bomb this last test for Econ with white?? I’ve done fine on the others... but completely blew this one. I felt she purposely was out to trick us on the questions..

I am also in White's class. There is a good bit of material and it can get quite confusing but the most disappointing part is the attitude of the professor in communications with the class. I am taking my final two courses of the program, I currently have a C in the course and made all A's and one B in the others....

I’m in fin 720 with Hseigh as well. I’m taking it along with Econ 705 for my final two classes! No info yet in Econ 705.

Got my score as well this afternoon.. By the score the other teachers must have been as ready to end this class as the students!

Anyone receive their MKT 701 part 2 grade back yet? I am waiting for my grade to see if I need to study for the last exam or not before I take it.

I ended up with a high A as well on project 1. Ive still yet to get half way on part 2. I wonder what the average on the paper was... I would be upset with the amount of work put into the paper if I didn’t come away with a decent grade.

I was thinking the same thing. I am about 10 pages in and have really just repeated the same information but used a few different terms to define the items. It really is just busy work. She spends more time on the course than we do though, there is so much information thrown our way constantly.

I received mine yesterday around 5 pm. I think I am in the last group and based on the forum post there are only about 15 of us. So, we may have a smaller group for the coach to score.

The MKT 701 work load is pretty heavy, but I do feel better after getting the grade on the application forum. I ended up with a 100 so the graded really isn't that hard if its consistent throughout the other assignments. I just went through, answered and explained each question that was asked with minimal changes and proof reading.

It may have not been the smartest move, but it was a rollover from a previous employer and wasn't that large. The penalty isn't that substantial because of the amount just wondering if I could avoid the penalty.

Can I claim exemption for early withdrawal penalty from an IRA to help with a home purchase due to a job transfer? This is not my first home purchase.

TIA!

I wouldn't say any of the ones I have taken are that hard. Some just require more effort. MADM 701 decent amount of work but I wouldn't call it hard didn't really get anything out of the course. Meeks in MADM 760 and 751 were my two favorites. Requires a little work but easy As and good reading choices. FIN 701 and 730 with Vines are easy as for as work loads and I enjoyed them. They are just learning the material which can take some effort but his zoom sessions help. ACCT 701 requires some effort but its mainly working through problems. ISDS 705 definitely the easiest of all and should be paired with something else.

My list of easiest to hardest would be - ISDS 705, MADM 751, MADM 760, FIN 730, ACCT 701, FIN 701, MADM 701(because of workload), and Im only a week and a half in but MKT 701 last.

What a tough transition after you take ISDS 705 to go to James MKT 701. Ive already put in twice as much effort in the first week and a half of MKT as I did the entire course for ISDS. MKT is really the first class in the course I am disappointed with and it is my seventh course. I feel it is too much information scattered and pulled from too many directions to come away with a feeling that I actually got something from the course.

One thought - MADM 760 is pretty easy. I would pair that with something instead of MADM 701. MADM 701 is alot of writing and busy work so far the most work load I have taken and im 75% of the way through - I would suggest putting that one by itself.

I will keep that similar plan. Put forth a good bit of effort on test one, at that point, I can gauge what I need to do on the final two tests. Most open book classes I just skim the material several times that way I kinda know in general where to look for things even though using search function.
Shouldn't defense be rated on how well they did in fantasy football like most other positions??? They scored 32 points in my league sooo A++ performance.

Yea felice williams never curved when I took her. I made Cs and low Bs on all the test... no matter how much effort i put forth. I just focused in the papers and discussions to boost my grade. I ended up with 90 in the class.

From what I am reading about MKT 701 and I would go with MADM 701. I have not taken MKT 701 but I have taken MADM 701. MADM was a little time consuming as there was a good a bit a writing each week, but I would say it wouldn't be too bad to pair with ACCT 701. I am in ACCT 701 and the first two weeks of assignments took about an hour each to complete.

Anyone taking ACCT 701 with Dr. Mcgee... Seems the instructions on the class are way more complicated than they should be. It is made to seem like there is alot of work but I worked about 12 activities on cengage, which took about 30 minutes. The way its laid out I feel I am missing something.

re: LSUS Online MBA Reviews

I thought the exams were harder than they should be. The questions are based on some wording directly from the text so they could be anything. I never did much reading of the text. My studying consisted of reading through the power points because there was so much busy work and the power points did help a little. I think I got low Bs and possibly Cs on the test but ended up with an A because of all the other assignments.

Lots of busy work and writing and several multiple choice tests. Grading is pretty inconsistent on the papers and weekly writing assignments. Make sure you hit the word counts, use some references on everything, graders seem to like that and use proper formatting on references. You should be able to make an A as long as you do the work. I got C's and B's on all the tests but got an A because of so many opportunities.

I work full time, spouse, and parent. So far the program hasn't taken a whole lot of time from me. If you are a prior business major and are exempt from the prereq courses the program is 10 classes. There are 6 sessions a year. So with the 12 months in mind you would have to double up every session or 4 of the sessions depending on the pre req. The program is going to take me 18 months. I only doubled up once and thats all I planned to, I picked the perfect classes for it too. Its definitely alot more time consuming doubling up. I would suggest only doubling up a few times and stretching the program a bit.

I took my FIN 730 test yesterday afternoon. Got my grade last night. I got the score i needed for an A. I enjoyed the 701 material a lot more but overall 730 was definitely an easier course. I would recommend both of those with vines though.

I doubled up FIN 730 and MADM 760 which wasnt bad and I would definitely recommend the combination. I enjoyed the layout and content of madm 760.

Next course is ACCT 701 with Mcgee.

I haven't taken it yet. I plan on taking it today, I am a little nervous to start. I need a 44/50 to get an A.. Hoping I can get that. I did very poorly on the first test, so didn't think an A was possible then I averaged a 97 on the next two.
