brent, when I took MADM 701 she told us to only submit the actual writing to turnitin (leave off your references) because if not you will get a higher percentage. Then just remember to add your references to the bottom of your forum post when you paste it over.

Looks like old MADM 701 hasn't changed much from a few sessions ago. Hopefully your GA grades the discussion forums fairly consistently. And the exams are pretty much the same the rest of the way. Was definitely my least favorite class of the program.

This past session ISDS 705 had test the Friday of the 7th week, the Thursday of the 5th week and Wednesday of the 3rd week, and I will agree with what was already said it was the easiest class in the course. Those of you looking at FIN Electives, anything Vines teaches will be good, I learned so much more in Vines class than in Hseih. And thats not just the bitterness talking about making a B in FIN 710 with him.

Officially finished, socal, brees, brent see you guys in December. The last 12 months have been tough, but will be extremely gratifying. Congrats to everyone finishing this session, and good luck to everyone continuing on. I plan to continue to check this board periodically so if you have any questions about the program feel free to ask.

Thanks for the info brent, I need to make a perfect on this FIN 710 test to pull out an A. Congrats on finishing up LSU, I took ISDS 705 Final yesterday and I will be taking FIN 710 later tonight to finish up the program as well. Thanks to everyone on the board for providing information, and just a place to vent. Now heres to hoping I can ace that 710 test to keep up with LSU and some of you others and finish the program with a 4.0

Agree, TRSL if I am not mistaken you get 2.5% per year of service credit of your highest 3 year average salary. (i.e 6 years of service x 2.5 = 15% of salary) with five years of service you can start collecting at age 60. I also believe you can covert sick leave into service credit. If it were me I would leave it in TRSL and take the guarantee payout as you would have to average pretty high ROI in other investment vehicles to match what the guarantee is.

IMO, regardless of undergrad a masters level student should not have any issues with the math in the program. I am in my last classes and really none of the math I have encountered has been much more than the basic maths taken as a freshman in college. I don't have an undergrad in business and enjoy the math heavy classes way more because they are much simpler.

jkdaven, I am taking FIN 710 with ISDS 705 right now. For FIN I read through each chapter twice, and then work through the problems in the back of the chapter twice. Then I go through and make my self a packet of the formulas. I write out the formula and explain what each variable means. I then also write other pertinent formulas.(For example, If I need to solve a certain formula but one of the variables isn't given I write the formula used for that specific variable and so on. Then when I take the test make sure to have the book nearby and use the search function for the true or false to try and make the correct choice. I've really had to slow down on the True or False to make sure I understand what he is saying cause he often times takes one word out or adds one word in that changes the answer. Good luck, I currently have a mid-high B and would need to pull a perfect on the last test to make an A in the class

I use a desktop computer with built in webcam and its the biggest hassle because the proctor wants to see all four walls and even under the desk, not exactly the easiest thing to do while not unplugging anything. Proctorio is so much more of an enjoyable experience than ProctorU

Yea, this is by far the easiest class of the program. One more test left. Now if I can just make it through the end of FIN 701 then hello graduation. Hope to meet up with some of you on December 17th

Wolf and Socal, thanks for the info on ISDS test 2. Did you put any effort into studying/prepping before hand?

Bobert_e, really just depends on the professor, sometimes its a couple weeks in advance, other times its not until the week off.
What time is everyone taking the ISDS 705 Test tomorrow? I go at 730PM

Agreed brent, I hope he sticks to more of the TVM stuff because thats really straight forward. I feel like things could get really difficult with the wording of the text and the wording of his questions with the forward, futures, put and options stuff.

re: Is Dr James Andrews really the best Orthopedic Surgeon?
Posted by MondayAMQB on 7/21/17 at 5:03 pm to MontyFranklyn
He is the best overall and most recognized surgeon. He does still do some of the operations. I agree there may be better orthos at knee specific or other specific areas but when talking elbow or overall he is the best. He does have a team that works for him now, but they were all taught by the man himself and he gets the best of the best

You are right LSU, I was mixing up what I had read from the syllabus from ISDS 705 which states "There are
three tests worth 100 points each. These will be based on all materials covered in class up to the time of the test"
On that note, when you make a PDF of the chapters covered for ISDS test you may want to include 2,3,4,5 as he may pull questions from these chapters according to the syllabus

Yea, same here. One of the three points I understood the problem and knew how to do it just rushed and typed it into my calculator wrong so when I compared the numbers I was off and got the wrong answer, and then one of the true or false I read it right in my head...one of the ones about the x axis is ___ and the question had them axis flipped but I guess I rushed and flipped them right in my head.
On his syllabus I understood test two can cover anything covered so far this session so any insight if you think he will put a question or two from exam one on there for "review"?

Definitely kicking myself after reviewing FIN 710 test. Simple stupid rushing mistakes and flipping things in my head.....hopefully can pick it up this week. These next few days will be rough trying to cram FIN in after just finishing up with ISDS

Thats a great idea, I didn't think about making a PDF of only those chapters. Search function is key. My video feed kept stopping during the test so the proctor would have to interrupt me and restart it while the time was still running. I wonder why the score isn't available immediately since it was all M/C or T/F?

Nolamom, how had you gone about prepping for the test? did you focus on reading the chapters, foucus on PPTs etc?
