Yes, those are the numbers,
We chose not to step up to the plate and make a big time hire.

That is the approx salary of the coach he is replacing. It is likely correct and compared to proven coaches, it is on the cheap.
We could have hired Kellie Harper. Missouri did. We could have gone after Sam Purcell. Instead, if this is true, we will get farther and farther behind our rivals.

If this is the best we can do, we should have just not made a change at all. His style of play won't translate to the SEC. We tried this with Terri Williams. You will win some games, but you will never be a top tier SEC program playing this style of press defense.
Teams with size and talent will simply drive to the basket collect fouls and kill you on the perimeter. You can beat smaller teams, but teams like South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas, among others, will toy with you on a regular basis.

The charges WILL be dropped by the DA. No doubt in my mind.

Based on recent events, can't argue that u are wrong.
There was no real cover up. There was an effort to not embarrass the young woman who had a consensual affair with Clint's son. But for the fact that she was on the team, there would have been nothing wrong with his actions (nothing that would warrant dismissal). Because she was a student and he was a coach, he was investigated and eventually removed from employment.
Clint was never disciplined whatsoever and the decision to step down was his own and not forced by the university.

To be clear, we did not "let Clint go"... he was not forced out. His son was fired for cause. Clint decided at that point to step down. That was his decision, not a university mandate.
Difference is that Reese doesn't know when to let it go. Instead, she just acts more and more disrespectful and in the end it is her reputation that takes the hit.
No coach with Kiffin's resume is worth that kind of money.
Why would it bother anyone? Tell your doctor not to wear one at the hospital either, being that you are smarter than he is.

People can talk about it all day, but it is what it is. I will ride with Bruce Pearl and trust him to get the job done. In a basketball tournament, you can lose one game to a team less talented very easily. Miami had a lot of experience on the floor. Their shots were dropping and they won the game. Congratulations and good luck.

No. The last thing we need is gambling on a college campus.

Next year will be a new year and that is that. Have fun imagining otherwise.

The arenas should be used for over 100 years and valued for their architecture. Instead, we treat them as though they were disposable steel and concrete.

There is no way I would buy in this market. If you must, go as far Northwest of the city as you can stand.
Appreciation of homes in the range of 30% plus is not something that will last. In fact, we are racing toward another collapse like we saw in 2008. That will be the best time to buy, but I understand that may not be feasible.

This is a long but accurate timeline of the whole Briles/Baylor situation. Decide for yourself.
That is the espn hit piece.
How is this different than Saban giving Jonathon Taylor a scholarship?
How does that change this?
1. 3 players total arrested for inappropriate behavior off campus. One found not guilty.
2. Only 1 of the two convicted of a crime actually played a snap for the Baylor football team.
3. Zero evidence that Briles did anything whatsoever to cover up any player conduct.
4. Cleared by NCAA
5. Cleared by Baylor and was paid full contract due to there being no evidence to warrant a firing for cause?

One bought whores for the team. The other provided female students
That didn't happen either.
Think about this... there is proof that "escorts" were provided for recruits at Louisville, but Pitino is still coaching and about to be in a Power 5 job again.

Appearance of rape. Are you serious? There was multiple gang rapes reported. One was a trainer and he was given names. Nothing happened to them but the trainer was removed from her duties. I am not talking about one dude here accused gang rape. 10 to 15 of his players were accused of gang rape in just one incident.
There were some convictions and he knew about it early on and did nothing. He was given details and players names. Scapegoat? Did they get everyone that covered it up? No, but he does not he gets a pass. frick him and anyone that belittles rape and what it does to its victims.
You don't have a clue of what you are talking about. Go ahead.... show where any of this is true.

Rape? What rape? Baylor found no cause existed and paid Briles his full contract. The NCAA cleared the man and found not even one instance where he had prior knowledge that a player had sexually assaulted someone at Baylor and did anything to suppress the information.
re: Auburn with Bruce Pearl
Posted by AU9377 on 2/24/22 at 12:24 pm to Aight is Enough
Bruce does still care about Tennessee. He is very genuine about that fact and says so often. That said, the same devotion and determination that causes him to have fond feelings toward the Tennessee program are the very same things that cause him to genuinely have ownership now in the Auburn program.
Bruce is by far the most powerful and well liked coach on campus. He has earned that right. He plays in a great Arena and has a practice facility approved that is about to be built adjacent to that Arena. The two best players on this year's team come from Newnan and Fairburn, Georgia. Those towns are approx an hour's drive from campus.
He has a new contract that makes him one of the top 5 paid coaches in the country. Add to that the fact that he has built a mini palace for a home and his son is one of his top assistants and you have a guy that has no interest in starting over again. Tennessee would be smart to go after Steven Pearl if the opportunity came open.

Play in the stadium you have. We waste so much money that it is obscene in this country and we treat structures as though they are disposable plates.
This is a massive mistake.

I despise the whole NIL deal but my point remains. AU can't "under recruit" and them coach 'em up and win in the SEC West.
This is FACT,

If he doesn't start doing the things expected, he will be fired and not paid the full amount of his buyout. That means attending events, holding clinics and other duties customarily done by other similar head coaches. The language in his contract on that is clear.

You are full of shite. He lost because they couldn't convert a 3rd and 1. He lost because over the course of the game the Bengals OL was under immense stress.
One thing with no impact on the game was the sunglasses and shoes he wore to the locker room. Get over yourself.

OLD NEWS.
Auburn will be just fine when a coaching change is made in order to get rid of the a-hole that is currently occupying the position. Why? Because we have millions to spend and a history of making men millionaires regardless of the end result.
And it doesn't hurt that Auburn also has a history wherein the past 4 coaches have won the SEC, had undefeated seasons and played for and won a national title.

The half court shots made me feel sorry for her.
As for Rane, any program would be blessed to have him on their side.
