Planting Trees on Property

Posted by Tiger328 on 1/14/26 at 9:44 am
I have about 3 acres with a pond in front of the house. I want to plant trees around the property to provide privacy from the road, privacy from neighbors, but also to be aesthetically pleasing. The entire part of property in the front with the pond is also fenced.

Only issue is I don’t want to plant trees Willy nilly and in 20 years it doesn’t look right, as I plan on this being where I live for the rest of my life. Are there companies or people to reach out to that can help me map out what kinda trees and where and how it will look in the future?

I used ChatGPT. We have a gym at work with all the equipment. I prompted it by telling it I wanted to workout 4 days a week, I wanted to build strength while losing fat, all of the equipment and machines we have, and I wanted it capped at 60 minutes. It took a few iterations but it gave me a daily lift plan, rest periods in between each set, and then what core and cardio to do on that day to match the type of lift I did. It then generated a PDF that I now have saved to my phone and can look back on
My heart sank with this topic but thankfully the one we use isn’t on here
What do they use on pipelines

What weed killer to spray in ditches?

Posted by Tiger328 on 1/13/26 at 1:05 pm
I live in Ascension parish and have about 220 feet of ditch frontage that is holding too much water to get lawnmower into. It’s a pain to keep weedeating. What is a good weed killer I can spray to keep it down for awhile. I used roundup and it clearly did nothing
The fact the “tough” part is complete with the ATS already installed and wired in and my natural gas has a tap and upsized regulator tells me it should be a very simple tie in with someone that knows what they’re doing but not for $6-$7k more than the generator is worth. Just that minimal work doesn’t scream $6-$7k to me, even though I personally don’t have the skill set to do it

I reached out to Lowe’s and gonna get a quote from their private installer. Curious what price they can come in at
He also helped Blake Sims make it to the Natty for Bama
Is the same generator that the dealers provide the same that Lowe’s provides? Or should I buy off the Generac site?

Only asking because I know like lawnmowers for instance, if you buy a John Deere at a dealer it’s better quality and better made than if you buy at Lowe’s

Whole Home Generator Installation

I purchased a home late last year. It already has a Generac ATS installed. I spoke with original builder and he hooked that up when he built in 2011 but didn’t get a generator installed for budget reasons at the time and just never did it.

I had someone come over today and quote me. $12k. I already have the ATS, and we’d be running 8 feet of wire/conduit, and 8 feet of gas pipe to the generator.

I can buy the same 24kW at Lowes for $6k. What specifically do these companies offer where I can’t just get a private electrician and plumber and buy it myself and get hooked up to save a few thousand? Or is the juice not worth the squeeze?

re: Lane in Knoxville?

Lane is leaving us for Tennessee I guess
That’s good to know! Another question, we are trying to go for Tuna, and I know that fuel costs are added to that on top of the trip costs. What would we be looking like? I know it’s dependent on how far out you go, but just a rough ball park. It’ll be split between 6 of us but curious nonetheless
My buddy planned a deep sea fishing trip in February and wound up picking Bent Rod Fishing Charter out of Grand Isle. Just not sure if anyone had any experience with them, whether good or bad, as I know charters can be hit or miss

You need to change your name to LSPussy cause all you do is complain. In Every. Single. Thread
When I got it into ACC mode, anytime I would try to shift it would say “conditions to shift are not met” or something like that.

Battery is not dead. It stalled on me and threw a code. Code reader says Fuel Control Module
I have a 2025 Silverado with the electronic shifter in the console. My truck died on me and I need to put it in neutral to get it out of the driveway to work on it and I cannot figure out how to get it to neutral. Chat GPT says to pop the trim under the shifter and there’s a manual release, but I can’t get the trim to pop open without fear of damaging it. Any help?
I received a note in the mail the other day from NOPD that my truck was recovered in McComb.

Apparently the truck was purchased by someone and he got rear ended by a drunk driver. When it was in the shop for repair, the VIN was ran and discovered the truck was stolen.

The valet company insurance did make me whole, but I certainly had expected the truck to be chopped up or in Mexico
