Maybe it's the model overlay or my amateur eyes but I sure don't like when that line segment looks like it goes more cellular vs linear between Baton Rouge and Hammond. IMO that would be something to watch and possibly lead toward more tornadic activity vs straight line wind.

at that height, I'd be gone. Knowing the damage that occurred from Katrina on the MS Gulf Coast with surge especially. It seems people really underestimate the power of that much water rolling in over a few hrs worth of time.

pretty much, with this storm specifically it's going to struggle the whole way through it seems which is going to stop it from getting it's act together rather quickly which is good.

This is the major concern for NO and the gulf coast in general, these early season storms are not prolific wind producers but, rain producers. With all the rain the area has been getting and under a flood watch just for general afternoon summer storms, the soil isn't gonna take a lot to flood rather quickly especially with a tropical system.

That graph Basically shows how strong the models "think" it'll get given atmospheric conditions, time of year, location etc. Not a total expert but I wouldn't put to much into the one generating a Cat 1 at landfall (anything is possible though) but, this won't explode into some huge major storm, just way to early for that imo.
