As a senior trying to navigate getting things to a point where my children are not overwhelmed with these matters, I appreciate you taking the the time to record this information in a succint manner.
My wife and I have a recent will and revocable trust and a POA for financial matters.
The only possible disagreement I might have with you is more a personal choice on my part: I do not have a living will or a Health POA. My reasoning: Having been in medicine for over 50 years as a physician and having watched decisions made by families and physicians be made based on discomfort and a need for closure rather than exhibiting patience and giving a potentially recoverable patient a chance to recover, I want TIME to recover; if that prolongs a hopeless situation, I'll risk that. But, again, that's a personal choice based on past observation and goes against the general advice of most attorneys.

1980–81 Mike Krzyzewski 17–13 6–8 T–5th NIT Quarterfinal
1981–82 Mike Krzyzewski 10–17 4–10 T–6th —
1982–83 Mike Krzyzewski 11–17 3–11 7th —
Coach K was in a better confernece to recruit, better area to recruit, and his record for the first three seasons was not only bad but appeared to be declining in quality. The next 11 seasons they were in the playoffs and had 7 final four appearances with 2 championships and two runner-up outcomes.
Different culture completely now, and no patience in fan bases. Probably needs at least one more season now that the Kiffin dust has settled.

Wait until your 74 and see how well that goes over with you. 25% of practiciing physiciians are over the age of 65--if they all retired, there would be a disastrous shortage of medical care availability in this country. Respect your elders, don't try to put them out to pasture. :geauxtigers:
I've been selling at about 5$ increases since it hit 35$. So I have lost quite a bit of value, but at some point there will be a correction. The curve is like straight up at this point, and any reversion to the mean will be a big fall.

Except he needed to study how LSU defended Johnny Football back in that era. Running QB's roasted us for the last two seasons.

re: Buying LEAPs on QQQ and SPY
Posted by kjacksonp on 10/27/25 at 3:55 pm to makersmark1
If you look at two year spans and stick to ETFs like SPY, QQQ, and some others, its very hard to find a period where there was a two year loss. If one buys out of the money but greater than two years out, I think there is a reasononable (greater than 50%) chance of gaining some appreciation in the price of the option. Not expecting to exercise it; that is, not expecting it to reach the call price frequently, but with some modest upward moves in the market the options can be sold at a profit and rolled into a later expiratioin date.
But what dio I know? I have risked about 20K doing this and have made aboiut 20K over all this year, BUT a major downturn would probably wipe most of that out. Not claiming to be an expert, just trying to see if others have looked at those long term curves and LEAPs.

For QQQ, when the ETF was in the 450 to 500 range I was buying Jan '27 740 calls; and for SPY (I forget the ETF price at the time) I have been buying December '27 calls at 900.
QQQ calls were 800l, now 2300
SPY calls were 402, now 1000
On the calendar year I am up about 13700 including some profits from puts that I bought after big run ups, and sold after correction.
I realize the risk of a downturn keeping them from ever reaching the strike, but more leverage this way and defined risk.
My primary funds are managed by investment folks so this is "hobby" investing.

Buying LEAPs on QQQ and SPY

I have been buying 2027 call options about 250 out of the money on both ETFs. Looking at their curves over 5 year periods, there is a strong trend to gain over 2+ years. Low, defined risk and substantial gain in a bull market, but can wait out dips and still profit.
Any thoughts on this approach from people who are actually knowledgeable and not an amateur like me?

re: If you could go back 20 years what would you do differently?

I would have begun to buy real estate outside of my personal residence back then. The combination of rental income and asset appreciation over 20 years would have greatly increased my net worth.
I put every dime I could into state retirement and then a 403B and that has been fine, but putting small amounts toward real estate would have been a wiser path.

It was 1959
Starting pitching is solid. Middle relief has been erratic with a poor K to W ratio. Our best relief pitcher is now a freshman starter, and the other relief pticher (Cowan) has been rung up of late.
That will work in a regional or a super most of the time.
At the CWS, if they were to lose early and have to play 4 or 5 games BEFORE the championship series, they will not do well.
And the offense is partt of the problem because it has not been nearly as productive agains SEC calibar pitching as in pre SEC.
If we make it to the CWS, I think LSU plays 2-4 games and is out.
Not their year. I hate that, but i cannot see them winning it all.

16. Good bats and fielding. Not yet confident that pitching is on the same level overall. Lot of young players--talented, but inexperience still shows up at times, usually the worst times.
re: What is the most tragic event in LSU history?

Bo Rein was my first thought, along with several others mentioned.
I guess, also, Pete Maravich dying so young from a congenital heart problem that should have kept him from ever playing.

My two sons and I: 29th to the 2nd. Venetian.
Celebrating 75th, 50th, and 45th birthdays. And hopefully the first opening day win in a while.

Billy Cannon, followed by Bert Jones and Casanova.
I met Cannon when I was about 10 years old at a church banquet at which he was the guest of honor (can you imagine that now).
I picked Bert Jones and his girlfriend up at the Shreveport airport in the early 70's because she was my (then) wife's former college roommate. He rode in the back seat of a '68 Camaro--knees were practically on the ceiling.
I met Casanova in Shreveport when he was interviewing for med school. Nice, almost shy, personality. He ended up dating the same girl that Bert had dated. {She eventually married Hank Williams, Jr. after his accident}

I had COVID in December for the first time. Very mild, back to normal exercise in 3 days, mild headache, low grade fever for two. That's it. BUT I tested myself until tested negative because of an elderly relative we were planning to visit when no longer shedding virus. 15 days later I tested negative for the first time (testing daily for the last 4 days).
They can change the recs, but you shed virus for 10+_ days, regardless of the CDC, and at levels that are infectious to others for most of that time. People are still having major morbidity, some young with pulmonary emboli, this week as this is released.

Home team twice vs. Wake
Posted by kjacksonp on 6/23/23 at 11:07 am
Can anyone explain the sequence of home vs. visitor in the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday games?
Is it alternating between two teams and then a coin flip in the third game?
