He's been almost 2 wins better than the next best position player in the NL
He's had a better season than Kershaw did the year he won N: MVP
Wins and Losses are something irrelevant to judging the value of one individual MLB player unlike in say the NBA

So far this year with 50 games played and over 220 PA, he's amassed 1.4 fWAR which is 49th among position players, he's proved 1/3 of the value of Mike Trouts and Mookie Betts individually. According to Baseball Reference, he's only been worth 0.8 bWAR. With this injury history and the fact that he's only had one complete superstar season (2015) and his underperformance this year, can we stop this talk that he has a chance to get $40 mil aav or $400 mil +? His age is a huge benefit but he's nowhere near good enough consistently to justify that level of investment

David Price : 7/$217 mil, He's had his moments but also had serious injury last year and too many clunkers for the amount he's being paid

his season is probably sunk already with the injuries to Mad Bum and Samardzija, they were gonna be a WC at best team who would sneak in and those two being out might cost them games early on that will bite them in the arse at the end
