Nah, I'd rather win a title in the odd years and completely miss the field in the even years than to be close every year and only squeak out 1 title...Ask Arkansas fans if they would trade all of their Omaha trips and great seasons for 1 title and 10 terrible years and they would all take the title! Same with aTm in basically any sport!
Even Skip only repeated once! Jay will be fine and will hang another flag before Mason Braun leaves!

Every one of those plays was routine with your infield playing straight up! The shift is stupid and hurts way more than it helps! Prove me wrong!

may have felt that way but it certainly isn't the case.
He got his callup in 2022 and hit .197 (73 games)
2023 hit .185 (90 games)
2024 hit .258 and won the AL silver slugger for the utility position (149 games)
2025 hit .251 as a utility guy (144 games)
2026 is the first time he's been able to lock into a single position and be "the guy" at 2B. We'll see how it goes but it's not like the Ranger just plugged him at a position and let him figure it out for years. He has started every position but P & C at the big league level and has a WS ring and a silver slugger going into year 4 to show for it.

He very well may, however do not think for a minute that Jay is locked in on him for good...think back to 2023. Jared Jones started 47 games (34 at 1B) and was eventually benched pretty much for good. He only ended up with 4 plate appearances in the entire NCAA tournament that year!
I trust Jay completely, if Yorke plays then he sees some value but I 100% believe there is definitely a point where he will cut bait! It worked out pretty well in 2023.

Except we have seen out catchers throw these balls to Jake Brown in the past! The correct play was to catch the pitch cleanly which was not difficult, however once dropped the correct play in this case was 100% to touch the plate on the way back to the 3B dugout!
Just cause it worked out doesn’t make it the right call!
It’s akin to starting Skenes vs Tulane in 2023, worked out but it still doesn’t make it right! Kinda like running across the interstate blindfolded, if you survive it doesn’t mean it was the right move!

We know they struggle to finish strikeouts, but how does Serna not know to just step on the plate there with the bases loaded? Luckily the throw down to 1B didn’t burn us but cmon…have some baseball IQ!
