re: Recommendations on outdoor refrigerators
Posted by FrizzleFry on 5/16/19 at 2:27 pm to DrewTheEngineer
I have a plain dorm fridge maybe $120-$150 bucks from Lowe's or Home Depot. It's been sitting on the patio for probably 7 years. I'll throw it away and get another when it dies. my only complaint is I have to adjust the cold settings for winter & summer weather, otherwise my beer freezes in the winter.

My people are from St Landry parish. Around there, if you've got a cinch hand, you play the highest card. Otherwise you've renegged. Rules may be different in other regions.

Try the Columbia Resturant in Ybor City for some traditional Cuban food. It's been open since 1905, lots of history in there.

We had one for Christmas. You can still find them around Ville Platte in several of the meat markets.

You're right Otis, what most people call andouille is quite different than the original version. Nothing went to waste in the older days. thats why some folks like myself grew up eating things like tounge, brains, bouee'(?sp), Paunche (?sp), etc.. (I guess old habits are hard to break, b/c I'm only 35,and I enjoy many of these dishes today. So this isn't something that only happened generations ago)
I think that during the cajun food popluarity explosion, Andouille, was a food that was re-invented as a glorified sausage twist on old-fashioned cajun smoked sausage and sold to the public who wanted to try anything "cajun". Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the product sold as Andouille today, It's just not what I grew up eating as andouille.

My people are from St. Landry Parish. Growing up for us, andouille was the intestines stuffed into another intestine and then smoked. It resembeled a sausage, but was quite different in taste/texture. It seems that definition over time that has changed. Now it seems to be a larger version of a sausage with coarser ground meat inside the casing.

Thanks for the prayers from everyone, I know the family is very appreciative of all who had a hand in pulling this together.

There's alot of negative talk & grumbling around here lately. Regardless of whats been happening, a lot of people at LSU took time yesterday to show a family a good time around the LSU campus, and brighten a little boy's day.

The Advocate pissed me off with their story... They could have just listed his name with the others who were arrested, yet they chose to use the bold extra large font to draw extra attention to it.

I know some guys who'd carry BB pistol & gallon ziploc bags in their backpack. Pop a squirrel or two between classes, and throw it in the bag. They'd clean them in their apartments after class. It allowed for lighter food bills and more beer money.

The wife & I ran into J Russel & D Bowe at Dillards one time. DB brought over shirt & pants combos to my wife to ask her if they matched. He like myself evidently has a hard time matching stuff.

I went last year for the first time, and enjoyed myself. I'll probably go again this year. I think tickets are $20 each. There are many restaurants and catering companies that set up booths, so I'm pretty sure that you could find something to your liking over there in the food department. Alcohol is "all you can drink" but there will be a hefty line at the beer booth, so that will limit your consumption somewhat. It was Bud products last year for the most part. I do remember some booths having alcohol of various types as well. All in all, I'd say it was a pretty good time.

I know that Riverbend has some very fine homes, but seriously, a major D-1 coach should be able to do better, no?
Hallman took over in 1991. At that time in college football, the crazy high salaries that we see as commonplace today were unheard of. I would definitely not consider the fact of our coach living in Riverbend in the early 90's was a sign of anything greater, certainly not anything to be ashamed of...

Most of those places sell IDs that are sufficient for allowing some guy to buy a pack of smokes or buy beer. I've been to clubs that wouldn't let someone in if they had a foreign I.D. or a passport.
So it is just a fake ID shop, only they use the ID's for beer & tobacco, and not for criminal purposes or to get government assistance they shouldn't qualify for. Gotcha
Back to the topic, I haven't tried their food yet, but I have been to the place on Sherwood. I think it is the same family. It wasn't the worst Mexican food I've eaten, but not good enough for me to go back.

Don't mean to hijack a thread, but does anybody know what this place is? Is it strictly a place to gain fake ID's for illegals, or does is serve a legitimate purpose?

The thing that grabs my interest is, statements made by some on here that RR supposedly gave Stoops a silent last Wed/Thur when he was in La for a in-home. Then Dmitch makes a post about interviewing & being offered a job on Thursday near a school that RR was considering. If RR does choose OU, and Dmitch takes a job in Oklahoma- Well that would smell just fishy...

I am one of the common men you are referencing. I am in TAF, yet I don't even have season tickets. I give what I can because I enjoy seeing the tigers do well and it takes money to do well in this day & age. Go far away & come back when you have a clue!
