re: Word around the football ops building regarding CLK
Posted by Tiger on the Rag on 1/14/26 at 1:34 pm to L5ut1g3r
CLK is what we needed at the right time. He is the one coach that understands and manages today's college football that has changed so much in a short period of time. Kiffin also changed not only his personal life but also changed and accepted the change in college football.

No he wouldn't. LSU would've sent him on his way because they realized very early he's not a QB at this level. Why you think they didn't try to retain him when he left?
You are correct partly because he is not an sec qb, my point was for the kid staying at lsu and he would have gotten playing time. He is better than van buren. Most importantly for the kid being a legacy kid, he would have had opportunities outside of football by staying. He was not processed.

There’s no denying that they had success without him
Refresh my memory please. I do remember when Freeze came in with a top 5 team and lost to a lesser ranked team. Their qb quit in the 4th quarter.
Also define success. For LSU success is winning natties. 3 in last 23 years and played for another.

At some point the Auburn fans on here stopped clinging tightly to their 2010 national championship, because enough time had passed.
LSU fans need to do this. 2019 was 7 seasons ago.
you need to learn math. That was 6 seasons ago. How much time had passed since your 80's championship till the next? You are good at math so I will trust your answer. By the way I have all the respect for the Georgia program. I think Kirby is one of the best in the country and love his approach to the culture thing. I also enjoyed all the tailgating with the georgia fans going back a decade or so. We had a lot of fun with the Georgia fans. Most of them did not want to go into the game and just party with us outside drinking and eating the good shite we cooked up. Those fans seem to have disappeard tho. Next to LSU and I am diehard tiger fan for 60 years I have alway like Georgia. So you guys need to get back to the way you were and respect good programs and most lsu fans really do respect Georgia's program and its coach. He was a coach at LSU on Sabans staff and you recall. All former coaches here are respected except Jimbo who was one of the worst Oc's I can remember in my long time as a tiger fan.

yea, thats how the portal works. Lane has been doing this for awhile. We also have the 27 qb in Peyton Houston who was also a top 10 qb and some had him rated as the top qb in highschool.

Howard should have never left LSU. He would have played last year some and would have been a good backup. Now with our qb room the way it is, he would have processed anyway.

The liberal sports media talking heads will now be exploding. I sure love being the villain. Wow this is great motivation for not only the staff, but the players as well.

They just finished their season and there is only 3 or 4 worthy of an lsu offer
re: Could 2019 LSU beat Indiana?

Of course 2019 would beat Indiana. 20 pt win. Fabio was supposed to unbeatable. I do think Mendoza and I diana are really good. Mendoza very intelligent and the culture seems to be great. They beat miami by 2 td’s

re: Knight, Lagway, Raiola, Longstreet. Who you taking?
Posted by Tiger on the Rag on 1/9/26 at 6:13 pm to tigerbait2019
I watched Raiola in one game last year and he looked awesome. If his head would be right i would like him. I also like Lagway with kiffin as coach.

So we were supposed to let all coaches go? Be thankful that LSU let the most important ones go to help. I am still pissed that any of them went back to coach. Your AD could have had all of them if he did not let his pride get in the way.

Hmmm. Do Ole miss players feel like they were treated dirty?
Well with all the negative publicity I wish he would have not let any coaches go back to help Ole Miss. It is hard to understand why the AD would let some coaches coach for playoffs but now the man who brought them to that point. LSU was letting Lane continue to coach Ole Miss but the AD said no for Lane but the others can coach. Like this would have made any difference for
recruiting their players. I am glad because it gave him a jump start in evaluations and portal time. So no sympathy for Ole Miss here.

Who Will Be LSU's Offensive Coordinator Next Year?
We are going to save money and just let the Master Lane MF Kiffin call the plays rather than trying to train someone again. Who will be the rebs OC?

The schedule we have with unknown qb I would take 8-4 now.

I think Deboer feels the same way about Bama. With all the liberal media and bad press Lane got in this transition we don't expect a miracle in the first year. Kinda like what Saban had to endure.
