World War Z

Tried to read this book back in high school, but wasn’t a fan of the interview style it was written In.
Started the audio book yesterday and finished it this afternoon. I really do not get the hype around the book. They had some really good stories in it, but a lot of the stories were a little boring.
I guess I enjoyed the actual zombie attacking stories than the political and scientific ones.

I always enjoyed the movie, but the book was nowhere near the movie.

I do think it would be a great mini series with each episode being a different interview/story
Big fan of Mumford and sons back in the day, but I think they are a fad band.

Bursted on the scene and blew up, the Americana scene was thriving for their first 2 albums.

Then they went and chased the indie pop rock with wilder mind. I remember people hating “believe” when it came out asking where the banjos are at (I actually liked that song a lot).

Then they took a long break and came back with delta and mixed their previous albums tones/genres into one.

Then the stuff happen with their guitar player and he left the band. (It kinda seemed like he voluntary left the band so his views didn’t affect the other guys).

Then they went all pop indie dookie

That ep with the African group/people was pretty interesting. I remember the single being pretty good

Tire repair kit

Posted by The Dunder Mifflin on 2/22/26 at 10:48 pm
My tire repair kit is just about done. Plug tools are stripped and handle cannot grip the plug anymore.

I will buy a new kit but I’m wondering if anyone used the new tire repair screws before. Do they actually work or is it just a gimmick
Got 4 whole chickens to do tomorrow on my Joetisserie and was wondering what is your go to brine.
In the past I just threw stuff all together, salt, sugar, onion, soy sauce, peppercorns, bay leaf. Basically everything I had in the spice cabinet.

3 chicken I think I’m gonna baste it with butter and rosemary and shove a butter, rosemary and garlic mixture under the Skin, maybe some lemons?

The 4th chicken I’m winging it. One of my friends said he had one that was brined in crab boil, lemon and oranges so I will try that.

What are your go to brines for chicken if you got a favorite one

Lawn care: granular or liquid

Posted by The Dunder Mifflin on 2/10/26 at 12:36 pm
I need to put out some pre emerge before the weekend. I’m just curious what everyone does for pre emerge, fertilizer, etc. do you just get the granular stuff or do you buy the actual chemicals and mix it yourself?

With that being said, do you live on a nice size lot or subdivision with close neighbors?

I usually mix my own pest control inside and outside, my own roundup and weed master. But usually spray it at dusk when there is no wind since I usually get strong chemicals.

Shallow Well jet pumps recs

Posted by The Dunder Mifflin on 2/8/26 at 4:22 pm
We got about 2-3 shallow well pumps and one of the pumps usually goes out once a year ( 2years if lucky).
In the past we always got the Everbuilt 3/4hp shallow well jet pumps from Home Depot. The prices have skyrocket and currently $530ish

Bought some in the past
July 2025- $400
Spring 2023- $300ish

Any recs on a cheaper pump you might be using?
The screws were the ones that were originally installed. I assume when the house was built. The house is about 10 years old, but I bought it six years ago.
I actually had him to install 2 new electrical outlets and fix those 3 lights
150
Update

Had an “electrician” come fix the boxes. One of the boxes had cracking in the sheet rock around the electrical box hole. So instead of replacing the broken electrical box and risking the Sheetrock cracking more or some breaking, he ended up putting some drywall screws into the Sheetrock to hold the lights up

Send help

I haven’t seen a post on this movie yet.
Saw it yesterday and was a little disappointed. I went in thinking it was going to be more of a horror/thriller. But it was almost like a dark comedy. Very much still enjoyed the movie, my biggest complaint…………………

Rachel McAdams mole is so damn distracting!!!

this is the answer
Saw it today and Really enjoyed this movie. I also enjoyed the first movie even though it had its problems.

I actually enjoyed the ending of part 1 because if you think about it, those people only ever watched power rangers and kid shows…… they never grew up so it kinda made sense.

But that scene really don’t connect to the actual jimmys in this movie. Except maybe the Teletubbies dancing scene.

I could also see people not enjoying this movie because there are very little infected in this movie. But I found myself much more Clinching up during this movie that part one. The jimmys are terrifying.
1. Dayseeker- Creature in the Black Night (craw back to my coffin)

2. Grayscale- The Hart (dance with your ghost)

3. Badflower- No place like home (paws)

4. Yellowcard- better days (better days)

5. Whiskey Myers- Whomp whack thunder (midnight women)
How the hell do you get your Christmas tree back into its original box.

Had to put my tree in two separate boxes

Something like this. The two screw holes keep snapping off that hold the light fixture
It’s not fans. It small two light bulb ceiling light that goes in a closet.
This is my 2nd electrical ceiling box that holds up a 2 lightbulb circular light since November.
3rd one that broke this year.

The holes in the electrical box that you screw your light fixture in broke off and I cannot rescrew the light fixture back in. Both lights are now hanging on by the wires.

The house is only about 9 years old, what is the life span of these boxes breaking? Are they more prone to break in “winter” (even though it’s hot as balls today).

Any easy way to replace the box or is it just easier to get an electrician? From quick glance I think it’s the old school ones that is nailed in from the attic
That’s what I read, I unplugged my Christmas lights and nothing changed. Might just wait till after Christmas to tackle this project
All 3 of my garage door remotes started to act up within the last couple of months. Outside of my garage, the remotes cannot open the door and has no range. If i can get it to work I need to be right infront of the door but only when I hold the open button down for a long time or multiple tries.

I tried changing the batteries and nothing helped.

Also the remotes for the most part work if I am in the garage for the most part. The wall opener that is in the garage (I assume it is hard wired to the unit) works every time without any hesitation.

What you think could be the problem?
My current desktop (HP Pavilion 23) just died on me and I need a new computer/laptop. The computer was about 11 years old and was for a former manager before me. So I did not pick the computer out, do not have any attachments to the current brand/model.

I mostly use the computer for quickbooks, spreadsheet and recording licenses/permits. I might use the computer 5-8 hours a week.

What kind of recommendations you got? Not looking to spend a fortune since I do not use it full time

Preferably windows program since my old computer is backed up on an external drive that ran windows
