re: At what point does a school just forego high school recruiting
Posted by TigerV on 1/17/26 at 8:54 am to Allthatfades
I think you may see more of what Lane did this year, go after high quality guys and not just numbers. You want to bring kids in that you think can compete early and help build depth and sustain the culture within the building. Having to replace half of the roster every year will be unsustainable, but I do see a world where we are bringing in 40ish new players a year (20 transfers and 20 recruits).
This Greenland thing is dumb. It’s not defendable the amount of rhetoric being thrown about by DJT.

Damn that’s terrible if true.
Yes, but it’s the natural progression of how this has to go. We all hate it, but these regimes will throw everything at the protest and revolutionaries. This is why international support is critical to keeping the people motivated through the death and hardship coming their way.
The colonist needed the support from the French during the American revolution, and these Persians need the support from the US to topple the Islamic regime. That doesn’t have to be boots on the ground, we have shown abilities to effectively attack Iranian military institutions through air power and I suspect we have more capabilities we have not shown yet.
Yea, I’m a huge Elon fan, but his timeframes are usually pretty far off. I don’t see it happening in 5 years, 15 maybe.
This is an unbelievable time to be living in. When Iran falls, most if not all of the funding to terrorist will cease. That regime has been a breading ground for so long, this is the only way to stop the scourge taking over Europe and slowly (not so slowly) coming to the US.
Trump cutting off the heads of the Islamic movement and the narco terrorist in the same week is insane.

About to say the same, I get it on my neck and upper traps for tension release. Amazing relief but the thought of that on my dick makes me squirm.
I mean, I would be upset with myself or anything, but not a marriage killer either

First I have ever heard that the toe can hit first but if the heel hits right away it’s not a toe tap

Moshiri was just on CNBC. He said the investment would be $5-6 Billion and wouldn’t take very long
I listened to this interview. He was propping up the current VP as well saying she is likely one of the few people who can lead the country. Sounded like a salesmen to me working to get his $2 billion in investments.

The TMS has oil and a lot of it, but the problem is the formation itself has very high clay content compared to more productive shales. This inhibits the ability to stimulate the rock and keep the hydraulic fracture open so that the oil can produce. The production trends bear this out with decent initial production numbers that quickly fall. A lot of drilling was done early there and companies saw the potential, but as more wells were drilled and the industry learned more about what makes these shale plays, the TMS began to fall out of favor. A few other issues with it as well, but that is the main one. Maybe someone gets an idea, cuts cost way back, or tries a new bit of technology that helps, but it will be high risk venture and good on them if they make it work.
Louisianas best bet for drilling is the Haynesville and other plays in the north that may be nearby to that activity, and then potential for an uplift in new drilling nearshore. There just isn’t much conventional exploration ongoing onshore in the US anymore which is a shame.

re: Will the venezuela news be pro or con for the market?

Yea, I think Chevron has the most upside of the majors followed by the service companies as those are the companies that can take advantage of a ramp up in activity the quickest.
re: What's going to happen with my Exxon stock tomorrow?

I don’t see anything popping tomorrow. Maybe a slight increase, but there is so much uncertainty that it will be months before anything can become concrete. Even if a US backed government gets installed.
On re-starting production, those facilities have been so mismanaged for so long it will take a while to get any meaningful increase in production.

Chevron still has operations in there and can easily ramp back up

Yea, this bold saying we will run the country in the meantime. I really hope that there are plans and groundwork in place and ready to roll out

I think we can help persuade Hezbollah

The arrival of the USS Gerald R. Ford gives the US Joint Task Force established in the region the option to launch a high volume of attacks against land targets, should Trump give the order. According to media reports, there are now 15,000 troops in the region, including marines on ships and some 5,000 personnel at bases in Puerto Rico.
Hope it’s true, but I would need to see this to believe it. If he does truly make that change then great, and we should all support them but I am certainly not flocking to cbs just yet. I’ll keep an ear to the ground and see if this guy reports differently though.
Jimmy Carter sanctioned that entire regime.

That's what's going to be interesting...the "now what".
I don’t disagree, but the situation in Venezuela is unique. There is already another leader that probably more than half the population believe is the true leader. The question will be how will the Venezuela military react and will the current leadership step down. Hopefully having an entire fleet off their coast gives the military enough of a scare to walk away and also give the public confidence that we aren’t going anywhere and are willing to have their back
I have met many ex-middle class Venezuelans over the years and they are amazing people, who would love to go back to their country. Some do go on visits, but they don’t bring their kids because it’s to dangerous. Maybe this will be the beginning of the end of this nightmare they have lived.

This and led him on pretty well too. Until she saw him and was like uhh, at that point she makes her choice in not leaving. That first time she felt he wasn’t good enough she did nothing to let him know it wasn’t happening. So, he didn’t stop. Creepy, probably especially after she told him no 3 times to anal, but it doesn’t sound at all like she resisted normal sex.

NIL is good for the game
NIL in concept is not bad for the game, the problem is there are zero boundaries and the current state is not sustainable. These college players have more control than any professional player or any other player in any league. There has to be some sort of contract or true commitment and not this leave after year.
