re: Ticketed for parking in my own driveway

Needed resurrection as I was just discussing the issue this morning, with someone who thinks blocking the sidewalk is no issue and police don’t ticket for that.
Well, you may not own the property the sidewalk sits on but I most definitely do (my lot pins are on the street side of the sidewalk). However ownership does not give me the right to block the 5 foot right of way in my front yard or the 7.5 ft right of way in the back yard. I get to own them and be taxed for them but I can’t block them. Additionally if you live in East Baton Rouge Parish you can not park on a street that does not have designated parking spaces for a period of greater than 8 hours unless you have out of state tags on your car. RV’s btw can park on the street for up too 72 hours.
