I am all for it. Curry has rug pulled the Pels numerous times. I had tickets for the kids twice when he did it. I'd at least had some credits to go along with the kids' disappointment.

There is a lot more to the process.. but the foundation is production over potential.

Cignetti's player evaluation process is meticulous, multifaceted and time-tested, and he is in the middle of every phase. Unlike most Power 4 programs, Indiana doesn't have a massive personnel department. At Big Ten media days in July, Cignetti declared, "I'm the GM and head coach." He makes the final call on players, as he has ever since leaving Nick Saban's side at Alabama to lead his first college program at Division II Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Anyone who has worked with Cignetti knows the phrase "production over potential," a mission statement for his evaluations. There are other Cignetti-isms in picking players, from football-specific traits to how they shake hands when you meet them.

There out of eligibility
Not sure anyone is out of eligibility with the amount of power the NCAA has at this point. Pretty sure everyone is a lawsuit away from being eligible.

Turns out illegals hire him to try to keep them from being deported.
My only assumption is if they are Illegal and hire a lawyer to get a judge (or some other authority) to declare them legal, then they are more than likely not a hardened criminal, so why not just move along and keep scooping up as many criminals as possible and not worry about the ones who are not criminals and can afford to hire an attorney ... disclaimer if they are actually criminals and the judges are overlooking it, I blame the judges as more than the lawyers

What colors players and coaches "bleed" is whichever school gives them the best opportunity.
And these days, opportunity and money are interchangeable, which is fine it is not the kids or the coaches faults honestly, at the end of the day the "fans" are the ones pumping money into college athletics

Saw an interview clip of Cignetti...stated he valued production over potential.

1. Grand Rapids, Michigan is NOT in the Bahamas
2. I would welcome any good player from the Bahamas
3. This is in contention for worst post of the year.

my gut told me then he'd never contribute in a big on a big stage.
And yet he went on to win starting jobs at 2 SEC schools.. how many other of those QBs at this June 7v7 accomplished that ? ..... yeah it did not pan out how the fans wanted here or how TJ wanted, but to act like he was a bum is inaccurate

How exactly does this work? What if another SEC OC has the same clause in their contract. Do both OCs get their contracts re-worked to infinity ?

I am afraid it is time for him to follow in his father's footsteps and start focusing on .... Pop A Shot !

Surely after he reflected on his last recommendation in a similar situation (Houston Nutt), he realized that may not be his forte, let the admin make the hire and just ride it with the 500k UA consulting role.
