We were getting conflicting information from 3 different high school AD's about eligibility. I sent an email to LHSAA asking for clarification. I didn't mention the schools but did spell out what we were told & the confusion

What is the situation, post it here and we can see if TD can provide the correct answer.

MMR Plane…Interesting

Flew into Raleigh this morning. They have an office there just something to keep an eye on.

 Nominee for Dumbest 1st post ever, a multibillion dollar company flying their plane to one of their offices qualifies as interesting ??

1 time transfer rule for High School Players in Louisiana
is being voted on today. There is momentum that it will pass.

Do attendance zones still matter ? where if you go from in zone to out of zone you still have to sit out ? if so , this will essentially only apply to kids transferring within the same attendance zone, is that accurate ?

LOL.. you think Shaq is a Will Wade fan ?.. remember when his son left LSU ?...Guess who was HC at LSU when he was not "taken care of" ?
quote:

“Wherever he decides I’m behind him,” Shaq said. “He’s a grown man making a decision and has kinda had a lot of basketball bad luck… We go to LSU where I thought they would take care of him but they didn’t, they have their own problem down there. I hope wherever he goes he gets a shot.

“I have a Giannis (Antetokounmpo) with a jump shot, that’s how I raised him… but people don’t know.”

I thought so too but also had to sit a year or apply for a hardship waiver a hope LHSAA approves it.

They will not have to sit out if they move to a new attendance zone and the private school is in that new zone. No hardship or waiver needed in that scenario.
quote:

Having said that I know of a kid that played varsity last season at a public school and is now playing varsity at a private school, did not sit. Not sure how they were able to get the waiver from LHSAA, but they did it.

Pretty sure the only way to do this "legitimately" is to meet the criteria for a bona fide move to a new residence into whatever attendance zone the private school is in

changing “select” and “nonselect” into “zoned” and “nonzoned”…

Isn't that the same thing? Any school that takes kids outside of their attendance zone is select and any school that only takes kids in their attendance zone is nonselect
Is it mostly lip syncing ? so many dates close to each other, don't see how any singer could pull it off

LOL.. how could they possibly enforce this... Are they going to monitor all exits and ask everyone who is leaving if they used a student ticket to get in ?... What would work is to make all the students scan their ID upon arrival and exit... but to just make the ones leaving early get exit scanned will not do anything, the students leaving early will just go out a different exit.

I hate Catholic because they have a different set of rules as everyone else.

Want to be “in district” is no problem, because you just need to be part of the diocese.

Let’s say there’s a kid that lives in Gonzales or Marepaus and goes to Catholic school for middle school. That kid is eligible immediately athletically at Catholic, but not at a school like Parkview.

It’s because of the “diocese”, which is bullshite.

So essentially, your eligibility is based on your religion.

frick that stupid shite.

Do you realize LHSAA changed that rule in 2023 ? Pretty sure it did not affect CHS much at all. Now it did hurt girls athletics and smaller team sports at smaller schools such as cross country, swimming, wrestling, tennis, and golf ... anyhow I have a sneaky suspicion you will have a new different reason to hate CHS.

Seems like threads are locked/anchored after a few weeks of inactivity. Would be great if the admins could unlock this one. Been a wild start to the league's regular season!

Something else is going on here.. strange.. BearTiger started this thread on the help board at Posted on 1/12/26 at 1:29 pm .. then there was a post on the actual thread on the MSB at Posted on 1/12/26 at 4:45 pm , so it looks like an admin unlocked it and then it got locked again...one of the best threads each year and pretty harmless, it never got off the rails

Have you checked what options are available when you try to do this online or in the Delta app? I usually find that a ton more options show up online for a change like this than a typical 20 minute delay

Thanks, I only travel a few times a year and normally not very far. I have never had to try and do this. I will look into it. Thanks.
Supposed to leave Sat 24th 130pm BTR to ATL, then 7p, ATL to Rome, Italy. Flying Delta, returning on the 31st

I can possibly leave a day earlier, but don't think we can figure out the work/vacation stuff to leave later and stay a week, would have to cut it short, which does not seem worth it at that point.

How strict are they on the origin airport ? I see a flight from MSY to JFK to FCO on Friday 1/23.

Any other options I am missing ?

Thanks

Doesn't look like they have started any real construction yet. A perimeter fence was installed but from what I can see not much more. I assume its a permit or historical tax credit hold up.

I am all for it. Curry has rug pulled the Pels numerous times. I had tickets for the kids twice when he did it. I'd at least had some credits to go along with the kids' disappointment.
