If Formby really got a million plus, he easily takes the crown for most overpaid.

you would have complained with any ending.

Probably true, as the declining quality of the writing from S5 made it almost inevitable that the ending would be less than what it could have been. I have said that I enjoyed it for what it was. I can't help but respond tongue in cheek to someone who is so overly invested. It's fine you liked it man. You don't need to convince other people something was great for it to be great in your mind. Others are going to disagree. They are entitled to their opinions too. I'm imagining you typing a rage response with Katre Bush's "Running Up That Hill" blaring. I'd suggest having a slight sense of humor over the whole thing.

Tell us how you would have ended so we could make fun of you. I'm sure you won't because you're just here to complain.

I am not a professional writer being paid millions of dollars. This is about as weak a criticism as one can make. Just because I am unable to accomplish something doesn't mean I am unable to recognize when someone else does poorly in attempting to do so.
The whole "that's what I thought" schtick is a little over the top, my man. It was a couple of hours later on a night with an NFL playoff game. Didn't see this til this morning. Happy to let you have the last word on this, as I am not at all that invested. For me Stranger Things is over, and I'll probably not give it much thought from here on. Since you are a true die hard, send us out with a bang, big guy.

They landed the fricking finale

quote:

If their name is entered into the portal by the 16th they can transfer to a new team whenever they want

Just as an example: let’s lay the Bama QB starter is pretty obvious coming out of Spring practice. What can the guy who came in 2nd do at that point if he wants to go find a starting job?

quote:

A player can transfer after the portal closes, but he won’t be eligible

Is that the old one year sitting out rule? Seems like a matter of time before someone sues over that.
Something I heard from a church friend here in Ttown: Evidently Formby to A&M has been in the works since November. Son of my friend was a classmate at Northridge, and they had all heard this was coming a couple of months ago. Said nobody believed the million plus number discussed until this past week. Just thought it was an interesting peek behind the curtain of how all this mess is going down.

quote:

I think we should just wait more guys will be in the portal

I know they made just one portal time, but a guy can still transfer after the Spring semester, right?

quote:

It’s an important point because the only thing enforceable is the contract

If I am a big money booster, and I pony up for the multimillion dollar recruit/transfer, I’d want to have some guarantee that the NIL I pay for isn’t associated with a school that would devalue my business by association in 12 months. Can those independent businesses not put some contract language that locks that in to some degree?
quote:

Stop believing all these clowns who just want media attention and clicks

I get what you are saying, BUT if a guy pulls out of the draft after getting a decent report from NFL people to go back to school, his bag must be pretty big.
quote:

That’s rich coming from an Alabama fan. They can’t handle the more level playing field

Half the posters are saying Bama is poor, but the other half is saying we were just better at paying before under the table. So now that things are above board, the playing field is level because some teams have more money? Is that your argument?
Like if a guy blows out an ACL in the Spring, is he still getting his bag? Are schools able to have any protective clauses at all? What if a guy is just a complete head case and has to be kicked off the team, is that the same as a guy who gets benched as far as paying out the dough? How can any team pay a HS guy NIL money and then let him sit for a year? That’s just going to be a complete sunk cost because the player is just going to walk or ask for more money having contributed nothing. This would probably be a fascinating case to study from the economic perspective.

Just this season you had guys like Nuss and RW not coming anywhere close to producing at the rate they were paid. Cam Coleman probably fits that description as well. Though the whole AU cluster F obviously contributed, he had some drops and alligator arms. I mean, only one team can win it all, and a whole lot of money is going to guys on teams that have little chance to actually compete for a CFP spot, much less a championship.

Micah DeBose

Potential. Never played for us as far as I recall but was highly ranked in recruiting

Cole Adams

He is a fairly good punt returner. Might be underselling him because our ST sucked and he was mostly a fairly catch machine. Has had some injury issues when playing WR. He’s not going to be a superstar at wideout, but he’ll be a good WR2 or 3. He’s got some speed.

What a backhand slap to the face to alabama sports

You cheer for the team Coleman left from, big guy.

Pretty good day for Chicago sports.

There’s been a couple of weak ones both ways. It’s pretty frustrating when the first half was allowed to be a rugby scrum. Just call the game consistently both halves.

re: Miami will beat Indiana

Posted by Crimson K on 1/9/26 at 8:03 pm to
I expect IU to win, but Miami probably has the best chance of any team in the playoff this year due to the line matchups. The Canes can play bully ball too. The issue is going to be that it comes down to QB. I can’t see Beck outplaying Mendoza.
This IU team is playing at such a high level.
quote:

In terms of starts this season by players they recruited out of hight school, 9 out of the 12 playoff teams were at least 50 percent

Now do the final 4. Every single one is starting a transfer QB. Ole Miss and Indiana are both over 60% of starters as transfers. 50% is a pretty low threshold to begin with.

Just because you thought something should have happened during that scene doesn't make it bad.

Again, WTH are you talking about? It’s not something I wanted one way or another. It’s something you claimed that the show runners specifically contradicted. I didn’t say it was bad, but I did point out that you were wrong according to the people who wrote it. I could accept the idea that the mind flayer body was made up of all the demos, but the idea was directly contradicted. Just because you wanted the explanation you provided to be right doesn’t mean it’s bad that you were wrong. BUT you are definitely wrong.
