this would be hilarious in 2024 with Trump winning the popular vote. They would have fought it like crazy with states like CA, NY, VA, WA, OR all having to put the EC votes to Trump.

Honestly have you read what Pope Leo has said about immigration? Most people dont know what he actually said about the church's stance.
Pope Leo has confirmed the Catholic church's stance that while countries have the right to control immigration and their borders. Once immigrants are here they should be treated as Jesus instructs us with kindness.

Pope Leo was not even nominated on the first 2 ballots. A big push for an American Pope was 2 things 1)he is from US and served in South America which are two of the biggest growing Catholic areas and 2) the hope that it would increase giving by American Catholics

I actually like what the Catholic Church say on tithing. All the charity work you do, all the donations you give, all the sacrifices you give to help others count as your giving and tithe.

Why he is the best Pope we have had since JP2, he has pushed conservative church teachings. He is also teaching the same Just War Theory the church has had for years.
Just because a war is not considered a Just & Holy War does not mean its the worst thing ever.
