Who do you fire first if you’re donati, tanner or Paris? I’d go with Paris first due to the revenue potential of an NCAA tournament basketball program vs college baseball which while it can turn a profit here vs other places its a drop in the bucket compared to BBall. Gotta make that bread to dump into football. Hate it for Lamont because I’ve met him in person and he seems like a stand up guy but we need wins not warm fuzzies. And marinara is a loser with the personality of a hot fart so if it was simply down to who I wanted to fire first it’d be him.

I myself am a sucker for the early 1990s aesthetic so I’m probably more fond of those than most. Would they look good on a helmet or something? frick no. Would it look good on a backwards baseball cap doing coke with strangers in the bathroom of a bar in Opelika? Debatable but I’d say yes. Yes it would.

Those logos, particularly 41 and 11 that look like the late 80s early 90s EA logo, are cool as hell. It’d be cool to find something similar for the gamecocks, what unused ideas they had cooking at one point.
Ray tanners tenure has to go down as one of if not the worst mismanagements of an athletic department in recent memory. Went from championship level baseball and SEC contenders in football to dumpster juice in all three men’s sports. It all starts with South Carolina nepotism/good old boy system shite whatever you wanna call it. Sucks.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again; gamecock fans are so fricking desperate for a winner they’ll convince themselves that this is fine. I mean sure I’d rather have a dominant women’s program than not and it was legit interesting to see dawn build the program from 2008-2015 but god damn man we used to hang our hat on baseball at least.
Sometimes I am reminded of why the gamecocks wander men’s sports purgatory. This is one of those times. We deserve this.

Looked it up, he saw some action in 2010, played in 8 games including the 4th quarter of the 2010 SECCG. which is odd because the first time I remember hearing about Shaw was his start against ECU in 2011 where we stunk it up. I remember my dad saying “if this is who we got behind Garcia we are in big trouble” and the rest is history

You’d have to imagine the current strategy is to hit the portal and hit it hard. OL and DBs, I’d try to nab that corner from Florida
Hey I wanted Beamer to keep him. The only bright spot on that last muschamp squad was Bobo’s rushing attack, Kevin Harris had like 1200 yards rushing that year. I think Bobo wanted like double his current salary and Beamer (foolishly) told him to kick rocks which led to our current situation of 4 OCs in 5 years since.
South Carolina isn’t much known for winning football or basketball games but we can and will secede from any sort of conference or union. Done it before and will do it again.
Considering we were ranked #13 coming into this year I’d say it was a pretty fricking big disappointment
double post but screw ray tanner, why couldn’t my dad have chosen any other team to get me into
The numbers I was able to come up with: in 2023-24 we made $52.6M from the SEC TV payout and reported a profit of around $35M which I’m guessing is from tickets and merch sales. I’m not absolutely sure if booster contributions / sales of luxury suites etc play into that number but I’m guessing they do. The financial situation is much like football recruiting here; top 20 nationally 12th in the conference so what good does it all do.
This has to be the way. The only constant in our history other than disappointment and unfulfilled potential is our unwavering fan support of a moribund football program. The only way the administration will listen is if their revenue stream is cut. Otherwise what’s the initiative to improve, they get paid the same wether we go 8-4 or 4-8.

have we ever had a more embarrassing coach

Posted by Freon on 11/17/25 at 5:48 am
Than Shane Beamer? Sure we’ve had plenty of losers lead our football team but I’m not sure if any of them have been nearly as embarrassing as Shane? Just about every other game there’s some kind of emotional blowout or tantrum, and now I’m hearing that Clayton White / Beamer almost got into a physical altercation and had to be separated. When will this end? The losing, I’m used to that and it’s embarrassing enough. But this last game has made me legit embarrassed to be a gamecock fan and I’m pretty sure that’s never happened before.
I’m out— he’s on year 5 with what should have been a national contender this year and has absolutely crapped the bed.

I really don’t get why he keeps trying to go NFL with the OCs, get a guy with a track record of success at the collegiate level for Christ’s sake. But if he were to leave my feelings on it would be dictated by who the replacement is honestly

I don’t hate it for him, he’s probably getting a fat severance. the offensive line is single-handedly why we aren’t 5-1 or 6-0 right now. Squandered what could have finally been an SEC title season for this team with all the pieces there. Sad stuff.
