re: Olave perspective related to contract

He's not a free agent. Cowboys have till March or whatever deadline. Then he WOULD become a FA if not franchised and cost the cowboys 28 million.
So he’s not a free agent, but his contract finished for the 2025 season? He’s a free agent. Even if he’s franchised, guess what, he can still sign with any team. So yes he’s a free agent. Seriously doubt the cowboys use an exclusive right free agent tag.

I remember a poster saying in here how relieved he was we hired Kelly and did not hire Lane. He was legit worried what Lsne would do at LSU

You wanted the rebuilding Saints to spend a high 3rd round pick on a one year rental for an extremely expensive receiver You also in the same breath wanted to “bottom out” and “tank” the season with said wasted 3rd round pick
I said if we were giving up a high 4th for a 28 year old receiver, I’d rather give up one round sooner for a younger receiver that has # 1 potential. I’ll go bump what I quoted if u like.
Extremely expensive? You do realize we paid more to cooks this year than what we woulda paid to Pickens….
Is about talent acquisition on a team that had none. You’d rather pay two first round picks for a number one like Chase or buy low and get similar production with a # 3 pick. That was what I was saying.

First year he’s had a decent qb and he had better numbers this year than half those receivers including Ceedee

So you wanted the Carr led cash strapped going no where Saints to out bid Jerry Jones for him. And him being a FA today. Wow
Not talking about salary. I’m talking about draft capital. Figuring our team was viewed as the worse in the league before the season, our third held much greater value than Dallas. It wasn’t about money to get him.
Now it’s about money since he’s a free agent. But we still could control him with the franchise tag.

For a one year rental
Why would he be a one year rental? If he leaves the cowboys, they’ll get a 3rd round comp pick back. So they didn’t lose much other than getting a year of all pro play.

Seems a weak field this year. But Pick on a 3-4 year deal hmmmmmm hell sign him up. Pick for 35 or Olave at 30 for 4 years..
Like I said months ago, the time to trade for him was in the offseason for a 3rd, Loomis chose to trade our 4th for Vele. Had our shot for a true #1 receiver for way below value.
You not getting him in free agency nor would I want to. That ship has sailed.
Ones a head case, the other a major injury liability….

When Olave plays fearless and with focus, he is an absolute WR1. His route running is elite, and he can excel at any route on any part of the field. I think the WR2 talk was more due to his unreliability for a while (drops, short arming catches), not his size. If people think size dictates WR1v2, they are wrong. Talent does
Damn, that’s quite the change in tune from what you said two short months ago lol

I tried this, wanted to pay all 30k on it. But they only let you charge the first 5k of it, then charge 4% fee for anything after, which makes doing that idiotic. This was at a Honda dealership.

That’s only on Amazon purchases. It 1% everywhere else.
My Sams card gets 5% at Sams, 5% at gas stations, and 3% for food at restaurants or take out. I have a different one that’s 2% everywhere. I use that one for everything else.

My logic was simple. Maybe Rattler is it, but probably not. If he isn’t, we enter a QB loaded draft with a top 3 pick. If he is it, we have our guy. He wasn’t it and this draft does not appear loaded at QB. Last year everyone thought this draft would have 5-7 QBs taken in the first, and most of them at the top of the draft.
This is exactly what I’m saying. And based on history and percentages, it was the safer, better bet. Shough was a Hail Mary throw that was caught. It is what it is. The team will be better b/c of it. I’m not arguing it wouldn’t be.
How many picks have the Saints ‘reached on’ the last few years that didnt pan out? Quite a few.

Explain Louis Riddick saying Shough is the “one to pay attention to” out of the first round potential QB’s and would be a “program builder” in the NFL. And his throws rivaled Mahomes
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5G8mFWa3fAU
Your boy Louis Riddick you claim as some expert was also saying the day after the first round, Sanders and Cam were neck and neck as the best qbs in the draft.
He just said in this video the Browns needed to take him with the first pick in the 2nd round. Not Shough. I wouldn’t have touched Sanders the first 4 rounds and said as much in the draft threads. I think the Browns got good value with him in the 5th tho.
So you still claiming him as an expert since he thought more highly of Sanders than Shough?
And you were also wrong about the Steelers possibly taking him in the 2nd. They didn’t even have a 2nd round pick lol.

Thank you. He’s definitely an outlier. Hindsight is 20/20 and I can’t remember anyone pounding their chest proclaiming he’d be a franchise qb. I know I was on record saying we shouldn’t draft a qb this year and he should get all next year to start to see what he was.
Yiu had people saying he was a great pick even if he only ended up a backup, which I think is stupid.

they’d prefer a 26 year old with intangibles and leadership over a 21 year old, yes that’s correct. If teams didn’t select him because of age they’re pretty stupid and as stupid as your take the 2 sack DE over Shough call
Complete bs. What team wants 5 years shaven off a prospects career they spent a high pick on before it even begins. If you really believe this, there’s no point in carrying on this conversation. Because you are truly an idiot.
