We don't need the largest ICE operation in the history of the country terrorizing a community to round up an illegal with no driver's license.
Is that your take on these operations?
You are something special

On a side note, I sat in on one of the federal trials by a person shot at Kent State who was paralyzed.
Was fascinating.
As for the insurrection act, I am not a fan of it right now. I think the blowback settles down with the freezing weather. I would focus on the fraud and enforce in another state for a week or so. Like someone else said...play wackamole and keep moving around.

Well that's difficult. The rational option was to avoid an overly aggressive policy with ICE that increased the risk of an incident like what we saw in MN from happening.
I am now sincerely curious: Did you ever post something similar when the feds raided the Trump home at Mar a Lago? That the policy was overly aggressive????

re: Ron DeSantis would be great in an AG role
Posted by dafif on 1/16/26 at 9:21 am to burger bearcat
He is not going to be AG - there is no scenario where that happens. Sorry.
I do not know what his next move/plan is at this time but he certainly has his handlers checking on what could be next.
Senate? maybe. Does he get out of politics? doubtful. President run? Big question as he would have to go against Vance and currently that is a huge loss but there are 2 more years to see what develops.
Heck, democrats have their own problem... what if Trump is impeached and convicted? Vance is Pres! He would (in my opinion) be better than Trump because less controversy and could continue the success for another election win.

I would believe in Florida there would not be any consequences if the officer(s) used a more aggressive force against her.
While I do and we all should realize there are limits, there are many sheriffs that would not blink twice at more force being used.
More importantly in Florida, law enforcement and cities are under orders to assist ICE in apprehension or lose state funds. Orlando (very liberal) was a perfect example. Mayor started to fight back and then came out and said it needed to assist or lose funding.

Other than the 2 options above, what is a 3rd specific rational alternative to solve the current issue in MN

It's more nuanced than that, like with any LEO. Just enforcing laws they're permitted to enforce doesn't absolutely insulate them from criminal prosecution, at the state or federal level.
I do not think the state gets to decide if the Fed is using "too much force" when they are apprehending an illegal alien for example.

Sure it can...the boiler plate language for this is in Ex Parte Robinson (U.S. 1874): “The power to punish for contempts is inherent in all courts; its existence is essential to the preservation of order in judicial proceedings, and to the enforcement of the judgments, orders, and writs of the courts, and consequently to the due administration of justice.”
I am sure you had to use some sort of Google AI or other AI to find this case from 1875 to support your position
However I do not disagree and never have that the court has the power to sanction somebody for disobeying a court order
First we do not have a court order yet
Second, I do not know that the court would be able to order compliance based on the lack of punishment contained within the statues and the ambiguity statue allowing or ratification and changes
I'm sure you would love some liberal judge to order compliance and then criminally sanctioned somebody based on your past posting but the court would have to enter an order first and then find noncompliance which will then be subject to appeal
However judge boasberg i'm sure we do all that in the same hearing or without a hearing after the complaint is filed
What is your point, actually. What are you trying to prevent or a while
Along the same lunes please explain to us what point does criminal activity reach too much because clearly criminal activity is allowed in your world

So what gives the court the authority to punish behavior that Congress specifically chose not to?
The court cannot just order compliance and then create its own punishment
If there are no rules violations which is what contempt is based on then the court cannot just create its own punishment when none exists

Under what authority could court order compliance if there is no penalty for noncompliance
As a practical matter there is a specific law in Florida that has no penalty for noncompliance and I have dealt with that and no court can order compliance because the law doesn't allow it
As an additional statement, I did not call you a sycophant I just said it was better for BBonds

You really ARE an unprincipled lout in discussions here.
Better than being a sycophant , but I digress
You have been asked multiple times "what is the penalty for non compliance"
You must know that a lae without a penalty is basically for show - we have some in Florida
A court cannot force legal compiance without a penalty - seems like it was all for show
