Does what George Lucas have to say really matter? He has so little to do with the success of the Star Wars franchise it's insane. I mean, he did shoot most of the footage for A New Hope, but the credit for that movie goes entirely to the editors. And then Empire was Irvin Kershner. Want to know what Star Wars would be if Lucas was entirely in charge? Go watch the holiday special.
As for Thor Ragnarok, some of the jokes may have fallen flat, but I bet you laughed a few times. It's not really asking to be taken seriously. It's a straight up buddy-comedy movie. Compare that to TLJ. Did you even crack a smile during the opening "comedy?" That phone call bullshite? Is being put on hold even a thing in the Star Wars universe? Because all I did was cringe for the first 10 minutes.
