Does anyone know the dimensions of the actual MBA degree?
The diploma is 8.5" x 11".

I will be finished with my last course on August 21st & I am wondering how long it will take to receive my degree in the mail?
I graduated in spring - took nearly 8 weeks for my diploma to arrive. Don't hold your breath and CONGRATS!
Spring AP 2 2020
Course: MKT701 w/ Si Chen
Difficulty: 1 out of 5
Time Required: 4-6 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: A
Notes: Spring AP 2 2020 – I put this class off, and arranged to take it by itself, due to reviews I read a year ago on Tigerdroppings. In reality, this was a SIMPLE course, with a great instructor. Chen gives weekly recorded zoom sessions, and quizzes come directly from the PowerPoints – feel free to skip the drier-than-melba-toast-textbook, I did after week 1 and relied on PowerPoint + quizlet study. Discussion posts required NO replies (hallelujah!!) and 3x papers were graded fairly. I had enough points that I could skip the final. Perhaps the easiest course in the program where I learned something. 10/10 highly recommend Chen with NO hesitation.

Fall AP 2 2019
Course: ISDS720 w/ Loughrin
Difficulty: 1 out of 5
Time Required: 8-10 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: A
Notes: Fall AP 2 2019 – Although a different course, a near carbon copy of learning materials from ISDS730. Same structure w/easier group project. Again, recommend the cert test and highly recommend the professor. Great course and concentration!
Spring AP 1 2020
Course: ISDS705 w/ Gherfal
Difficulty: 1 out of 5
Time Required: 4-6 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: A
Notes: Spring AP 1 2020 – What a waste of time and effort. Wildly outdated text that references blockbuster, myspace, and other legacy technology (think lessons on how great Tivo is…yea.). This course would have been relevant in 2010 but was a total waste of time/effort. No group work, plenty of writing, and plenty of extra credit. Tests were tricky, although I put in a serious lack of effort. Professor checks in a few times a semester but was self-paced and taught. If you earn less than an A in this class, drop the program. There must be better options, and I would not recommend this course/professor for anyone serious about learning. Total waste of my time and money. LSUS – do better.
Course: MADM760 w/ Wyatt
Difficulty: 3 out of 5
Time Required: 12-14 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: A
Notes: Spring AP 1 2020 – Tons of discussion posts and replies (Which are the worst, right?) with tricky exams. The textbook is a snoozefest, and tough to follow. Mercifully, the texts key areas are all over Quizlet, and a better approach for learning. No group work is a bonus as many MADM760 prof’s require, so I lightly recommend this course. If there are better options, take ‘em. This is a better 2nd choice setup I suspect.

Fall AP 1 2019
Course: FIN701 w/ Kendall
Difficulty: 5 out of 5
Time Required: 15-20 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: A
Notes: Fall AP 1 2019 – This was the hardest course in the program – Tests are difficult and require the mastery of the financial calculator. If you do not take the practice exams and use feedback, you will not ace this course. Keep taking practive exams until you commit to memory because they will show up word-for-word on the tests (with numbers changed, of course). This is an effort class and those that put in the effort, will be rewarded. I recommend this professor.
Course: ISDS730 w/ Loughrin
Difficulty: 2 out of 5
Time Required: 10-12 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: A
Notes: Fall AP 1 2019 – Group project that required multiple weekly meetings was actually fun – our semester was running a juice factory (into the ground…). I had a fun and attentive group that made the course work enjoyable. Tests were directly from reading material, and the $75 certification test at the end of the course was cake and great resume fodder – do it! I recommend the course, even though group work typically sucks.

Summer AP 2 2019
Course: MADM701 w/ Kungu
Difficulty: 1 out of 5
Time Required: 5-6 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: A
Notes: Summer AP 2 2019 – Kungu is an absent professor – no interaction with the class, no zoom/recorded sessions, and has academic coaches grading the discussion posts and papers. Old & outdated PDF textbook was an OK read, but left this course feeling that I wasted $1200. Do not recommend the professor.
Course: ISDS705 w/ Hennigan
Difficulty: 2 out of 5
Time Required: 6-8 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: B
Notes: Summer AP 2 2019 – I am a project Manager by trade, so this class was review. Although I earned a B (because I accidentally missed turning in an assignment), this was a simple course for anyone with a PM background. Good professor and up-to-date materials. Recommend the PM concentration for anyone looking to get into PM.

Hi all – I survived my year at LSUS! I decided to also memorializing courses and instructors and below are order of courses, difficulty, time required, and grade received. Overall, I was happy with the program and gradated Spring AP2 2020 with a 3.9 GPA. As with anything, there were good and bad professors, teaching styles, and course materials – but by in large, everything was what one would expect in a Masters program. I will lurk around for a few weeks to answer any questions – best of luck to all future students!
Summer AP 1 2019
Course: ACCT701 w/ Ambrosio
Difficulty: 2 out of 5
Time Required: 5-8 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: A
Notes: Summer AP 1 2019 – class was open book, but not a great reference. I was able to create excel shortcut sheets that saved my arse for use on quizzes. Be sure to attend zoom live and twist the professor's arm, he will give exact test questions (albeit with numbers changed). One of the best prof’s in the program, hands down.
Course: ECON705 w/ Shaughnessy
Difficulty: 4 out of 5
Time Required: 10-12 Hrs Per Week
Grade Received: A
Notes: Summer AP 1 2019 – class was difficult, even with an econ background from my undergrad. Professor uses recorded zoom sessions. His quizzes and materials are on coursehero, but changed for the exams, so be sure to understand concepts. This was a challenging course, but overall really enjoyed Shaughnessy and highly recommend.

Heya TigerTrainer! My two cents:
ISDS705 & MKT701 are probably the two easiest courses in this program -- at least for me -- a career project manager.
ACCT701 & FIN701 were the two toughest courses for me, based on very little accounting and finance background.
With that being said here is how I'd pair up:
Summer 20 AP1
ISDS 705: Management Information Systems
FIN 701: Financial Management
Fin701 with Kendall is a very challenging course that you can't fake/BS your way through, tests are tough, and the mult. choice contains common math errors, so you gotta know your shite and that f'n financial calulator - but ISDS705 is basically a no-show class (I took Gherfal...but Lin is easy from all accounts). Feel free to pair these with no concern.
Summer 20 AP2
ECON 705: Economic Analysis for Management Fawaz
MADM 701: Organizational Behavior Kungo
My advice here is to avoid Kungu - He's 100% absent, doesn't teach at all just gives reading assignments, relies on AC's to grade discussion posts and papers, you can do a lot better -- regardless, this is a manageable pair that I pulled off earlier.
Fall 20 AP1
ACCT 701: Managerial Use of Accounting Data Huang
MKT 701: Marketing Strategy
I'm currently in Si Chen's MKT 701 - Super easy class, try to get her as your prof (I'm sitting at 102% 5 weeks in -- cases are 6 discussion posts, NO REPLIES, 3 3 page case studies, and 3 quizzes that are NOT hard at all...)
Acct701 with Ambrosio is double-up-able, IF you can make the time to attend his zoom sessions. Dude is a great prof and will put in the work with you to get you the A -- if you don't attend the zoom sessions, its gonna be a bad time...
I'll let others review the specialization -- I took all 3 PM courses for mine...good luck and hit me with any questions!

Hey @tigertrainer1!
I didn't pair up these classes together but found both to be pretty simple to manage. I've got Si Chen for MKT701 this semester, and the classload is easy. 3x tests, 3x 3-5p papers, and 6x discussion posts with NO replies. AC seems to grade leniently, only marking down APA errors as best as I can tell so far...I'd say fo for it.

Awesome! I have added my 9 completed classes...Thanks for pulling this together!

is there a running Excel sheet/Google doc that has a list of each class and the preferred professor?
If it exists, I'm not aware of it. Some of the folks that frequented this board years ago (around page 250) started some pretty in-depth threads and reviews that are still relevant. If you use Google to search this forum, you can glean some good information, but the newer professors are not well reviewed here on TD.

Hey Crash!
I tool FIN701 with Kendall last semester AP1 -- This was not an easy class and I do have a business undergrad degree. The benefit to Kendall is that she lets you use a index card with hand-written notes and a financial calculator. The downside is that tests 1-5 are very difficult and require a lot of practice even with the tools she lets you use. I would advise against this pairing because MKT701 is not that tough, it is a writing intensive class with group work. My advice would be to break up this pair of courses.

who did you take for those isds 715-730 courses?
715: Hennigan
720 & 730: Loughrin
I already hold a PMP cert, so the intro to PM (715) course was review and really...really easy for me. The level of effort for someone without a business or PM background could be a challenge but any Business undergrads will breeze thru. 720 has a group project which is a (actually really fun...) project simulation. I had a really good team, but our results stunk, i think we finished in the bottom 1/4 of the class, but I still earned a 97%+, the instructor is great and lets you learn from mistake without penalty. 730 also has group work, but 15-30 minutes a week, tops and the work submitted weekly is less than one - pages between four people. Easy. Both 720 & 730 offer a certification (six sigma green belt & lean management) which is nearly identical to the class final for $75.

ISDS 705 with Gibbs seems much less effort
Cripes -- So Gibbs is only offered in AP2 this semester, I need 3 classes to graduate, so def want to double up ISDS705 against either MADM760 or MKT701. Of course Gibbs is full, so i added myself to the wait list and hopefully someone drops before Monday!
Thanks for the advice AA1!

Dr. Mary Lind is the professor with the 25-page paper and group presentation
Also ISDS 705 Darban has this insane deliverable. I dropped that class and grabbed Spring AP1 Gehrfal -- There are weekly writing assignments, but no group assignment/presentations. The Darban project certainly looks educational, but the requirements to interview a company *in person* + 3 followups is a complete non-starter. While some people might not mind the group work/paper + online presentation, for me this is an accelerated course, I work fulltime, travel often and would have a real hard time making this work.

Im down to my last pair of classes in the project management concentration -- my five easiest courses were:
ISDS 715
ISDS 720
ISDS 730
ACCT 701
ECON 705
Of course YMMV, but having a PM background made the electives a cake walk, and I didn't think the workload for ACCT and ECON were insurmountable. The MADM & MKT courses tend to be writing heavy -- depending on the instructor. My advice would be to search this forum, join the Facebook group (LINK and review syllabus as much as possible before committing. For example, ISDS 705 has a professor with a 25 page final paper with a recorded group presentation, and another professor with only 3 open note tests...good luck out there!

IS THESE TWO courses ARE TIME CONSUMING?
They are graduate level courses - of course they are time consuming. IMO this pairing is the most difficult since both courses are writing heavy with the professors requiring multiple discussion posts weekly and 3-5 page papers. My advice would be to split these courses and pair with less writing intense courses.

This made me laugh out loud. It is obvious to me that whoever wrote the PMBOK has little to no project management experience.
Why in the world is this being downvoted? New PM's that try to follow the PMBOK quickly find themselves drowning and I find that the PMBOK is only useful for guiding a project framework. Trying to manage to the PMBOK? You're gonna have a bad time.

Also, does anyone have any thoughts on signing up for Course Hero?
I used Course Hero to get my way through my undergrad degree. At LSUS I find Course Hero to be pretty useless honestly. Practically all the material is outdated and irrelevant to the discussions/essays/tests as currently constructed. I'd save the money myself.

This is the 1st good reason I've ever seen to file a grade appeal. It's clearly a mistake/oversight that the professor needs to correct. Have you considered filing the appeal after all the course work has been submitted -- perhaps remove any chance for retaliation?

did this class really get full in less than a day??
Yea -- get yourself on the email notification list when a seat opens. WITHOUT logging into compass (compass.lsus.edu) do the following:
* Click Course Schedules
* Change Search Terms to Spring 2020, enter course ID ISDS, click Search Now
* Click Add to Cart on ISDS 715, then click Register now on the next screen
* you should get a message on the next screen of "Click this link to be added to the Email Notification List." Do that.
You'll get an email every time this course is dropped. I find that I usually only have to wait a week or so for someone to drop. Good luck!
