re: Why pay 1300 dollars a night for a hotel room at Walt Disney World?

You pay a little more for the experience… it’s much more enjoyable
I don't know, man. I pay waaay less money for a VRBO time share condo and the kids have their own bedrooms, me and the wife have a king size bed and master bath, we can cook dinner and have snacks in the fridge. Vastly better than a hotel room with two queens. I stayed at the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian multiple times - the grounds are beautiful, the rooms may as well be a Quality Inn. Driving a car and parking is not hard, presumably most here have those skills. Disney and Universal have well designed parking lots with shuttles.

The Disney secret is to VRBO some sucker's time-share he doesn't use for pennies on the dollar. Get a multi-bedroom condo with kitchen at a resort with pools and water slides for a fraction of the price you pay to stay at a Disney property. Rent a car and you've got flexibility to hit Universal, Disney, Sea World, whatever.

We will end up with 1 of:
Caleb Downs
Sonny Styles
David Bailey
Jeremiah Love
Might be whoever falls to us but it will be a hard decision if it ends up a choice.
This is my wish list plus Arvell Reese. In theory, they could all be gone by 8. Need two OT and/or WR and/or Bain picked before us. Not a great OT or WR year for elite players, teams may wait to get later in draft, and Bain may slide due to length issues...

Can't imagine David Bailey falling out of the top 10.
re: Current cap space projection
Posted by Burt Macklin on 2/19/26 at 12:55 pm to lsufan0582
This number is meaningless. The vast majority of the cap hit from any free agents we sign now will hit next year and beyond (when our cap is wide open). The Saints can sign whoever they want starting right now and for the next couple years. This does not mean they can be stupid. Bad contracts (Carr, Taysom) or bad luck (Ramczyk, MT) will send us right back to cap hell.
Before you judge the Saints next payday, recall the worst contract in the NFL!

Exactly this. I would argue Sansa Stark and Jean Grey are more "prestigious" roles than a video game character.

Venison sauce piquante has been a hit at my house and uses up a lot of venison stew meat (I think this recipe needs nearly twice as much meat as it calls for). Pretty darn easy and not a lot of ingredients. Good over rice or mashed potatoes. Freezes well.
re: Klint Kubiak new HC of Raiders
Posted by Burt Macklin on 2/9/26 at 8:15 am to Xcalibur2017
He's a very similar hire to Kellen More. Young, respected offensive mind but not the stereotypical alpha head coach personality. So far so good with Kellen. We'll see how Kubiak does, but with Fernando Mendoza, Jeanty, and Brock Bowers his offense has a potentially good foundation.

re: Early polling finds Julia Letlow ahead of Bill Cassidy in upcoming Republican primary

If Cassidy loses the primary, is there anything to prevent him running against her as an independent? Sounds like he has plenty of money to spend. With his name recognition and some Democrat crossover, seems he'd have a real shot in the general.

I noticed it immediately and hated it. It's the Geaux font (which I generally like) but it looks awful on the yard line numbers.
I swear the numbers in those two photos look exactly the same to me. I feel like ya'll are messing with me.

quote:Well...
JSN led the FBS with 1600+ yards on 95 catches with 9 TDs his sophomore year. Playing next to Olave and Garrett Wilson 4.4 guy with elite testing in the athletic measures
Tate has put up 121 catches,1872 yards and 14 TDs in three seasons.
What makes him a better prospect? Tate’s a good WR in a bad WR draft
JSN draft profile:
quote:
Smith-Njigba is a possession slot receiver who lacks the shake to separate underneath and the speed to run past defenses. He’s tough in the middle of the defense and has proven he can make catches in congestion. Smith-Njigba will need to fine-tune his route running to give himself his best chance to succeed at the next level. It is impossible to ignore his monster finish to the 2021 season, and he has starting slot potential, but the speed concerns coupled with an injury-plagued 2022 season threaten to negatively impact his draft stock.
...and JSN was the 20th pick, as the FIRST WR (talk about a bad WR class!). I have seen zero projections of Tate that low.
Tate draft profile:
quote:. NFL.com
Ascending “Z” receiver who continues to step out from the shadow of Ohio State teammate Jeremiah Smith. Tate has good size but would benefit from more play strength. He builds momentum quickly on intermediate and deep routes, utilizing speed and tempo to pressure cornerbacks. He can win over the top on verticals or separate over the first two levels with route savvy and separation burst. Tate tracks throws at top speed and makes his adjustments to run under them. He combines timing, body control and catch radius to dominate air space and consistently lands on the winning side of contested catches. Pass catching comes effortlessly with soft, strong hands and he consistently works back on throws to keep ballhawks from hawking. Tate displays rare polish for a player his age and has the talent to become a heralded pro within his first three seasons.
Read those profiles - which sounds like the better draft prospect? The one with "starting slot potential", or the one with "the talent to be a heralded pro within his first three seasons"?

quote:That's what they said about Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Tate is a better draft prospect than him or Emeka Egbuka. I think Tate is also being underestimated because he's playing next to Jeremiah Smith.
Tate is high floor, but I’m not sure he’s high ceiling.

quote:Maybe, but he's got a contract that guarantees he'll be the highest paid OC in the SEC every year. As young as he is, he may take the Blake Baker route and wait on a big job.
I think Weis will almost certainly take either a P4 HC job or an NFL OC gif next offseason.

He was on his own as OC at FAU 2018-2019 and his offenses were at the bottom of the conference. Not to take shots at him, I like the guy, but anything he knows about good offense he learned after hooking up with Lane Kiffin.

Certainly not worried if he leaves LSU - he seems great, but his only success has been with Lane. CLK is the offense. Sounds like Lane is grooming Joe Cox to take over as OC when Weiss does leave.
