fair enough.

I guess for me it is simply hard to see a path to playing time for these guys. obviously I want to see them work their tail off, you never know if one of them can shoot up the depth chart, but it would appear they all have multiple players ahead of them.
And The Valley Shook is the SB Nation blog site.

This offseason, one of their writers has been posting little blurbs chronicling the history of LSU athletics.

This particular article covers the late 30s and speaks about the African-American team trainer. It is a great story and hopefully this article goes viral so this trainer can get the recognition he deserves.

Did I not say “maybe with the exception of Smith” ?

I think this boy's cheese has done slid off his cracker.
Yeah this was a very informative article and I had no idea about any of this and I have been an LSU fan for my whole life.

You know what they say:

A TIGER never changes its stripes LMAO.

EDIT: thanks for the heads up :)
I’m not sure what’s your point?

Just to provide some context in case you missed it, First Cut claimed that Miami wasn’t a bad team because their 3rd ranked defense.

I responded that 2014 LSU had a top 10 defense as well (#10). But I don’t think you’ll see anyone singing the praises of the 2014 team any time soon.
He was at the NOLA GOLD rugby game, I had the privilege to introduce myself to him and have some crawfish with him.

He is very knowledgeable about the sport of rugby. Gave me a newfound level of respect for him.
Let's let this season play out first, eh?

LSU is favored in 11 of 12 games.

Vegas put the O/U at 9, with the over being -110 (ie, the "favorite")

so theres no one doubting anymore, its now about going out and kicking butt this year!

Like I posted the 2013 class lost NINE 4-stars and above.

over how many seasons? 3? 4? weird how you would leave that out since you are trying to make an apples to apples comparison.

It is just a feeble attempt to bash the current head coach.

"and to O's credit, 2019 was top 5 and 2020 could be historically good. not just for LSU, but like 2018 UGA or one of those Meyer UF classes that I think is the highest ever."

You are correct here. singing the praises of O's 2019 and 2020 recruiting is in fact a feeble attempt to bash him. It actually looks like I am praising him.

Cheer Up Tiger Ree, it's only Tuesday

I will probably get drunk and piss off my girlfriend and end up passed out on the couch.

Ricky do you know there is an ocean of difference between singing praises and saying that teams suck? You said Miami sucked.

actually, YOU said Miami sucked. in your smarmy know it all way before dropping your A-HA moment about their defense.

heckuva defense I tell ya. gave up damn near 30 points to boston college. Fcking BOSTON COLLEGE.

a 4 game losing streak to UVA, Duke, the previously aforementioned Boston College, and Georgia Tech.

oh yeah, and that vaunted defense also showed up in the bowl game, when they got their freaking clocks cleaned 35-3 to finish the season unranked.

oh, and Richt fired himself.

yeah, that team was not good. sorry charlie.

quote:

Did 2014 LSU suck?

well they were the first team in what felt like a century to lose to Miss State...at home.

It was Miles' worst margin of defeat to an Auburn team that wasn't all that great.

oh and LSU was kind enough to give BIG BERT his first SEC win, ever. in a 17-0 shutout.

and lest we forget the Music City Bowl. ah yes, how could be forget the Music City Bowl, with all of its pomp and circumstance, only reserved for the elite teams at the end of the season.

yeah, dude, LSU in 2014 was not good. you just now figuring this out??
lol.

you and Tiger Ree are on one today.

Goin up, on a Tuesday!

let me get the forensic experts in here.

Because a true freshman had more starts

wide receiver starts are about as useful as a cock flavored lollipop. receptions, yards, catch rate, all much more useful stats.

but yeah, lets talk about how many "starts"

yall caught me!

Since it's clearly impossible for two people who don't know each other to agree online, the only logical conclusion is that we are the same person.

Miami totally sucked. They only finished third in the NCAA in total defense. fricking awful.

2014 LSU finished with a top 10 defense.

you about to start singing the praises of the 2014 LSU squad??

It’s hilarious that we’re using rediculously inaccurate preseason expectations

its objectively funny. but you are using it in an intentionally misleading way.

you know whats another word for "intentionally misleading"?

Lying.

I'm predicting a lot of excuses for him.

well if head to head is all that matters

then O is a better coach than Kirby Smart

but Les Miles is a better coach than O.

see how that works?

of course you don't, you admitted you are an "eaux fan" not an "LSU fan"

You can't be so naïve that you would even think this was going to happen immediately can you? I thought I was an Eaux fan.
the 2015 class is what really hurt.

You are still going to keep pushing that narrative about the 2016 class. kudos to you.

Stephen Sullivan WR - Contributor, but passed on depth chart by Jefferson and Chase
Dee Anderson WR - contributor, but has been passed on depth chart by Jefferson and Chase

Jefferson, I will give you, but how exactly did they get passed by Chase?

LINK

Sullivan and Chase have the same number of receptions. Chase had a whole 3 more catches than Anderson.

now Chase is the bonafide #2 behind Jefferson??

news to me. probably news to O,Ensminger and Joe Brady as well.

LOL!

It's funny, cuz its true. :(
quote:

I must admit though that when I saw LaCouture play every snap of the game against Mississippi State in 2017 I knew that LSU had the talent and depth to win it all that year.

And when two true freshmen - Charles and Ingram HAD to start on the Oline in 2017. I said the astonishing wealth of depth on the Dline doesn't even matter. When a team has to have 2 true freshmen on the Oline if they don't win the NC there is something wrong.

I'd imagine that there is a spectrum, like most things.

a spectrum of visible light (ROYGBIV)

a spectrum of political beliefs (liberal vs. conservative)

a spectrum of winning, with a national title one end, and going 0-12 on the other.

and I'd like to think that while not even the most diehard LSU fans (not Eaux fans, like you said in your post ) thought LSU was title contenders in 2017, I think LSU was expected to be on the part of the spectrum thats "higher" than losing to Troy, squeaking by Syracuse, and getting our brains bashed in vs. Ms State.

just my $0.02.

I think some teams don't recover well from early losses. Had they beaten us their season could've played out completely differently.

they played 3 different quarterbacks.

Richt abruptly fired himself.

that was not a good team. before the season there were talks of them going toe to toe with Clemson. Fcking CLEMSON lmao.
quote:

12 players outside the top 20 at their position

we had more players outside the top 50 at their position than bama had players outside the top 20 at their position

really? wow.

I mean, let's get one thing clear here: 15 is still objectively good. theres 130 FBS teams.
15 is just not what we are used to here. Saban and Miles spoiled us fans.

and to O's credit, 2019 was top 5 and 2020 could be historically good. not just for LSU, but like 2018 UGA or one of those Meyer UF classes that I think is the highest ever.
he was a second round pick but your point stands.

I think OP is getting unfairly treated. The facts speak for themselves. 33 attempted FGs was second in all of FBS.
quote:

JJ did have a much better third quarter vs Arkansas though

and he had a good second half in the SEC CG. gotta give credit where due.

But still doesn't excuse Miles doin Lee dirty like that SMH

It's may.

SEC media days isn't even for another 9 weeks.
Dandy Don hasn't even started his "100 day countdown".

I am just as excited as you, but let's enjoy summer first.
Well someone had to make the worst thread today.

congrats.
