Hello Everyone,

just starting MADM 701 with Dr Kungu this week and wanted to get some ideas how others have approached the class.
I understand there will be weekly reading (2 chapters from the assigned text) forum posts, papers and exams.

Can anyone please elaborate on how they managed the work and time?

Suggestions and comments are greatly appreciated.

Thomas

Hello All -
I just finished FIN 710 with Hseih and looking at the next 2 terms: either FIN 720 Spring AP2 with Hseih or FIN 730 with Choi in Summer AP1.

My schedule is a bit tight over April so I am hesitant to take any class, but wanted some feedback from anyone that has taken either of these from either professor. Having had Hseih now for 701 and 710, I know his style with the reading materials, practice exams, and Module exams...

So, for you that have had both 720 and 730 which class was more enjoyable? Which professor?

Thanks

Anyone have any comments about FIN 730 with Choi? Looking for specifics about how the materials are presented and tests are given. Proctor/ no proctor, open book etc.
Thanks in advance

Anyone currently in ACCT 701with Ambrosio please reply-

I have a question about how the Balance Sheet and Income data is presented for certain problems in the assessment tests. Due to a vision issue I see it one way and Dr Ambrosio sees it differently. Would like to know how it appears to you.

Many thanks

Thank you all so much for your summaries and comments.

We all come into these programs at a much different stage in life than when we entered undergrad. Many of us have families, jobs that require travel, military obligations, disabilities...it goes on and on.

Being able to ask questions about time required for a course in order to balance out that other significant part of your day is very helpful.

Best of luck and continued success to each and every one of you.

@baroqen,
thank you so much for your summaries -

first, does Huang use the 2 large pdfs from Accounting Principles for the reading assignment?
pdf 1 is Chapters 1-8
pdf 2 is chapter 9-18

second, to confirm, the weekly practice is open note and assessments are closed notes?

thanks,
Thomas

Acct 701
Well @zachtiger, I now know what you mean.
12 out of 12 on the practice. 10 out 12 on the Assessment. The two questions I missed were not to be found in the reading. I can only assume if I had an Accounting background, then maybe I would have known.

I am presently in ACCT 701 with Fabio Ambrosio. Took the first week practice exam and will take the end of week assessment tomorrow.

Can anyone shed any light on the difference between the two tests, other than the assessment being no open browser and Proctorio?

Thanks,
Thomas
