I mean, sometimes you get that in New Orleans East.
Pretty quiet here in Old Metairie today.

Old Metairie to Mandeville, I guess.
I just got 6 days for $132 and I’m 50 feet from the airport. It’s really not a bad deal. Especially if you’re traveling with kids.
Correct. I bought mine yesterday. I fly Monday at 09:00'ish. I started my parking for Monday at 07:00. I also set it to expire two hours after I land although I doubt that matters since it is daily parking.

You pay, you get a QR code to scan in. There will be a spot. It may be on the roof, but you'll have one. The lane will likely be blocked to get into long term by a sign that says FULL. Show the security person your parking receipt and QR.
See ya Monday!

Co-worker flew last week. He's A-list preferred. Was in Group 2 and had extra leg room seat. Said the boarding was seemingly slower but less chaotic. He also took a pic of leg room. He had enough room to cross his legs in front of him and not touch the seat.

Again, it's never ever going to change my user experience. I don't think I have been more that A 25 within the past five years. It will be nice not having to hold a seat for my wife and kids and get cursed out by some Karen. Now I can book them on my status and pick their seats.
We spend a little over $1M with SWA every year, so I got to go to a business town hall with them last February.
Their main goals were to recover the $MMMs lost in baggage fees. They did comprehensive analysis and people weren't picking flights with baggage fees in thought. People shop for the lowest priced flight and baggage fees are a thought when you check in. And if you think about that for a minute, you know they're right.
Second they wanted to enhance the user experience. So for those of you that claim you are loyal, you likely have some form of status. So now you are eligible for an enhanced user experience of priority group boarding (likely more overhead space), and in addition to that you might be eligible to get extra legroom.
Lastly, they even clowned on the miracle flights. They may have referred to them as hallelujah flights. But they knew they were a problem and wanted to address it. As I understood it, the pre-boarders will be gone as they will now have a group to which they are assigned based on status or ticket class.
I think it's a good move on their part. It will bolster rapid rewards users and increase the value for current, SWA loyalist. Plus, they'll make a shitload on those baggage fees now. That should help keep them competitive with pricing.

As A-List preferred, I'm excited to bypass the miracle fliers, gain priority group boarding, and get better seats than most.

re: Monarch Money Management
Posted by TheWiz on 1/27/26 at 2:33 pm to JohnnyKilroy
I ran an extended trial of Monarch and ultimately stayed with YNAB. Maybe it was familiarity, but I'm pretty hands on so I like that aspect of YNAB. Plus my shite is so dialed in, it was hard to dive into something else. Again, I've been using it since late 2016.
Monarch's Sankey Diagram was cool but that's about the only place it really trumped YNAB for me. I could probably export YNAB to Chat GPT and get the same Sankey Diagram.

Just made sure my 401k contributions were upped to $2,041.66 / month for 2026.
Oklahoma City Bombing for me.

Everyone in my neighborhood mostly has these new blacked out Escalades or Denalis that are 1-2 years old based on the new grill. I"m either the poorest or not living maxed out to the gills in car notes with my wittle ole Honda Passport.

We are basic arse Americans. $1 for drinks, $5 for breakfast buffet if they're speedy with coffees and getting my kids chocolate milks, etc.... $10 for lunch, and $20 for dinner.
Yes, I know I already paid for the service. It feels good to help people that are likely poor AF.
EDIT: $15-20 for driver, especially if overly helpful with bags and/or car seats.
Pro Tip: Have a $10 or $20 for the porter when you leave the airport. Those dudes will muscle you through the line and tote all your shite around so you don't have to.

Definitely got hacked. I have a stop transfer/payment order in with my bank through the end of the year.

My wife is a physician, for whatever that is worth but mostly irrelevant, and she has her DI policies with Ameritas.
