There’s no reason we can’t spend some money to get a coach that can motivate, evaluate, maximize talent and develop a roster. It just takes a little money, and it doesn’t seem to be in short supply.
If they don’t do it, it’s not because they can’t; it simply because they don’t care enough. And sadly that might be where we find ourselves

We’re seeing the difference between an effective coach (vandy’s) and one that, well, hasn’t been so effective.
The difference is clear and could be changed easily. And that change could have a quick and dramatic effect on the product on the floor. I hope lsu brass is learning… I don’t know what’s hindering them

Did gulkner visit? I believe he was scheduled to come in but instead committed to msu.
What sense does it make to commit without testing all the waters? Unless we rescinded the offer, which I doubt based on his tape… I was excited about this kid actually. Kinda sucks but I suppose we must move on

All we need is a coach. We don’t even really need great recruiters these days. Just bags. We can do that, can’t we?

It looked like king was handling the point ok, then Reese goes in at a pivotal possession to make a senseless turnover.
Reese might be a good player in time, but it’s fairly obvious that he’s not ready for sec ball at the moment. Why cant our coach see it when it’s so obvious? Actually, I can guess why…

When will we hear of a major change? All we need is a competent coach and a dedication to the program from the athletic department and we can get basketball rolling
If Indiana can turn around football quickly, I think we can do something similar for basketball. But we need a coach as priority number one

People love to mention that he was a 5-star, but let’s not forget that there was some discrepancies in his evaluation as a high school recruit One service said he was a 5 star player, another (probably more) disagreed.
Maybe he’ll play his way to being an elite lineman, but he’s got a long way to go

You’re right. He made two.
I suppose I’m upset that miller hasn’t gotten better since the end of last year. I think he could bring more to the table but he just seems timid offensively.

Why is tamba not getting any rest? He should barely be playing half the game as it is. 4 misses in 40 minutes.
He’s this year’s dji bailey, just taller and less offense-minded. People wonder why we struggle… is this guy a first-teamer, much less someone who is never taken out?

Same with Carter. He hasn’t played in a while I don’t think. He seems to be one-dimensional on offense as a perimeter player but his defense seems pretty good.
While I’m at it, Miller is mostly a no-show as well, which isn’t what i expected

We don’t have much to lose by playing miller over tamba and another guard, either king or possibly even zipper, over mackinnon.
Tamba isn’t a threat offensively and mackinnon can work in his hot and cold streaks from the bench

I think it’s more than just not winning the sec championship. It was how they lost but also how they played in other games this year, especially against LSU.
Bama I think has reason to be concerned. The two things they have going for them is they still are recruiting well and their dc is highly regarded. But we all know even that can and very likely will change pretty soon.
