You’re over thinking. Most of us are 4 drinks in watching the game.
re: Soccer field’s bright lights and alleged code violations divide Ascension neighbors

Agree with OldManRiver. Add to that at the same time BRSC and Ascension Flight have been out to get Robichaux for many years because he takes all the best players and whips their asses year in and out. BRSC has also always been paranoid about losing their monopoly on soccer in Baton Rouge. They have contracts with BREC that allow them to basically control all the soccer fields in EBR. Someone like Robichaux just over the parish line with a growing club puckers their collective sphincter.

Complete lazy arse error on a throw to first base. I get players have hitting slumps and stuff. But that error was pure laziness. Just a big lazy fat arse who didn’t reach far enough for the ball. Like it would tire him out to squeeze his glove.

Tonight. That’s about it. Let them celebrate. This was their Super Bowl.
re: Finding a toilet when you think you can’t make it…

Happened to me when I was on a road trip for work a few months ago. I pulled into the parking garage and realized that the shits were upon me. I quickly walked into the building where my meeting was being held which happened to also house a bank in the lobby. I see a sign for restrooms and think...thank you Jesus. But when I get there the door has a code to get in. I start to panic but then this old janitor comes walking down the hall. I ask if the bathroom is off limits and he tells me don't worry I'll punch in the code for you. As I thank him and enter the bathroom he says "hey, when you gotta go, you gotta go." Dude must have been my guardian angel that day or something.

Yes. As I navigate my way through my 40's this becomes more and more true with every passing day. Well said.
re: Cassidy or Letlow

Years ago when Cassidy was running for the U.S. House seat for the first time, my wife and I spotted him driving around the garden district in a white pick up truck handing out yard signs. We went up to his truck and asked for a sign and talked to him for about 10 minutes. He was very down to Earth and seemed genuine. Now I wouldn't vote for him in a million years. He has been completely corrupted by D.C.
re: Pain. The kind that comes from teen daughter growing up.
Posted by MaximillianPayne on 1/28/26 at 11:53 am to Tempratt
We have two daughters. The youngest one just went off to college last August making us official empty nesters. At times it is difficult. Sometimes on a weekend or after work I find myself just looking at their rooms. They are not there, but so much of their childhood is still there. Pictures with friends, awards from school, trophies from playing sports, their beds and other random things that remind me of certain times of their lives. I have random memories of things when they were babies, or 5 years old, or 15 years old and I think to myself....wow that seems like a different lifetime now. Was that even really my own life back then or just someone else?
Best thing I can tell younger parents is to learn to hold on to moments as they pass. We all think about the future way too much and miss the present.
It's not all bad though when they grow up. Not at all. My wife and I feel a deep sense of pride and accomplishment seeing them all grown up now. They are both well adjusted young women forging a great life for themselves. Somehow we did something right along the way. And that's a great feeling.

re: Can dry rot in tires cause tire sensor to go off?

I'm not a mechanic, but I would surmise that driving around on a tire with dry rot is probably a very bad idea.

I would like to have a meaningful comment on all the threads here tonight. But I timed my drinking around a 6:00 start time after work and now it’s 10:00 and my wife wont leave me alone.
