Interesting to hear that all 3 when talked about playing in hostile enviornements did not mention Alabama.
Pelicans 3 Point Percentage
Posted by JSRG123 on 12/10/19 at 11:04 am
Two weeks ago the pelicans were 5th in the league in 3 PT % at 38.2%
Today they rank 11th in the league at 36.3%. In their last 3 games they are shooting at a 25.2% clip. They are 11-70 in their last two games.
Who was the clown that said this was a good 3 point shooting team again? They are starting to come back down to earth.

Correct, since you have been in the huddle and all
lol this is such a bad thread. I mean what else do you want the man to say? Also, the NBA clearly has to cut out any tirades or cursing. This is such a reach
Correct, The wide open threes where we drive kick and make the extra pass are great.
The stand still and launch a 3 or the lets launch a 3 with 18 seconds left on the shot clock are an absolute joke. Lonzo cant shoot 10 3’s in a basketball game. How is that possible?

We actually have a top 10 offense in the league. We have no defense
MY GUY! here is a number for you, 11-41 from deep tonight. Lonzo went 2-10 from deep. Keep launching those threes and keep throwing out stats. This team doesn’t have good 3 point shooters
Do you realize that we don't have good 3 point shooters? We have one elite 3 point shooter and the rest are average. Lonzo his shooting 35% this year. That is average, meaning he misses 65% of his threes. Same with Jrue, Kenrich, Melli, Ingram, Hart and Jackson.
Yes let’s do that. In crunch time, meaning a game within 6 points with 5 mins left, this team shoots 24% from 3.
Anyone can launch 3’s down 20 every game. No crap we hit the most threes in the league because we are always trying to climb back into a game.

Yup, I started it. Unbelievable... Lonzo is shooting 33% JJ is at 46% on the year. Green light approach! And Lonzo actually shot well tonight, but anyone can just launch threes in this system.
re: Jrue Holiday

RIGHT now the Alpha is Brandon Ingram.
Down 1, Gentry draws up a play for Jrue. No chance in hell that play should be for Jrue. It should be BI on the block and either draw 2 defenders or go 1 on 1 8 feet from the goal.
Not a running floater

He has no clutch genes in him.
Against LA he misses a wide open dunk because AD was in the area.
Tonight he gets a running floater blocked by Adams. He is a good player but he never takes it to the next level. Meanwhile Brandon Ingram gets one touch in the final 2 minutes.

Zion will absolutely make him better on the court. Zion will make EVERYONE better on the court.

He actually drives a little more now, but when he does he gets glassed. It is ugly right now

This is at least the second time this season this has happened. The green light approach needs to be more of a yellow light approach.
When you are matched up against Melli and Okafor...
He once again attempted more 3 PT attempts than JJ Redick. The green light philosophy needs to go

Like what are they going to show? A couple of dunks but mostly footage of his sprained ankles and jammed fingers?

No Way right? David Griffin is always the bigger man, but if they do a tribute video I recommend the Looney Tunes sound track in the background. Frick you AD

You mean the Back to Back DPOY Gobert correct? Yea I don't think Hayes is there yet. We would be at a huge disadvantage with both of them on the court at the same time.
Favors against a 4 would not be beneficial on this team.

Yea, Favors is way to slow to guard a 4, and A smart team would just draw Hayes out to the perimeter and either ISO him or take him out of his rim protection.
On Offense, they would be pretty easy to guard as well, unless Favors decides he wants to start knocking down corner 3's at a regular rate.

That line up would never happen.
Offensively Hayes and Favor would clog up driving lines and it does not fit with the tempo style Gentry wants. Now Having Favors and Hayes at the 5 and giving each other breaks and having fresh legs will be nice to have.
Having them both on the court would not be good offensively or defensively.

100% agree, No chance Okafor plays over Hayes. Hayes brings a different type of skill set not only offensively but defensively as well.
Saw that stat too- He has also been way better at not fouling and being a great rim protector. Also, his rim running has been impressive.
So I am going to Bump this thread- Jaxson Hayes is a damn PROBLEM

Zion might not "fix" the team but he is going to help tremendously.
Stated earlier in this post, we need more drive and kicks and right now Lonzo is not doing that which is frustrating. He has never really attacked the rim since his UCLA days and I think once he starts doing that his game will get to the next level.
But to say Zion isn't going to "fix" this team is ridiculous. Once Zion steps on the floor he is going to make everyone else around him that much better because he will cause so much attention. The entire defense will be focused on stopping him which will lead to much easier shots for everyone else on the floor.

Same, I stated multiple times on the podcast I wanted him in the G league and I am glad I was wrong.
He does foul A TON, but that will get better with playing time. Having a rim protector and a guy that can finish on the rim and create so much havoc on offense and defense is such a plus for this team. The pick and roll game with him and Zion could be unstoppable with shooters on the perimeter. Oh and he is only 19....

Interested to see once Favors and Okafor are healthy will Hayes still get minutes?
You can see in about 3-4 weeks he is going to have some major posters. I just love his energy and how the opposing teams defense are going to have to really help on his rolls which will free up JJ, BI and Jrue. Even though we are off to a rough start, there are a ton of bright spots!

I don't think they see him as a stretch 5. He is a rim protector and a finisher at the rim. He will be fantastic in this Gentry style offense with hard rolls to the goal which will free up wide open shooters.
The help he will attract will cause wide open shots for our shooters.
