re: Car search for my son

Posted by cajundop on 1/5/26 at 7:38 pm to
I have 2 teenage boys (now 16 and 18) and both got a ‘99 jeep wrangler TJ around 15 years old. Decent deals can be found on Facebook marketplace. They are fairly easy to work on with plenty of room inside and manual transmission is common.

As for safety, you just can’t get these older jeeps going too fast and they have decent roll cages so your son should be safe. Granted my son doesn’t take his on the interstate as the mere idea of those jeeps at 70mph is scary but I’ve driven them both a that speed safely.

We’ve all 3 learned a lot with these jeeps and my oldest even repainted parts of his jeep after he was in a wreck. Great skills all around!

I should probably add that I am looking to put the 18 year old in something newer and safer for college in 8 months but the jeep was a great first car/ high school car.
Good luck!
George R R Martin must be leading the dev team.

The Land: Founding - CHaos Seeds Series by Aleron Kong

I am currently listening to Dawn of Wonder and am enjoying it immensely. The book is flying by and I find myself researching when book 2 comes out (spoiler: not soon.).

I just added The Land: Founding to my wishlist earlier today so I look forward to reading that one as well but cannot comment yet.

I love Mancour but agree with this thread that he can be a grind at times. I've devoured everything by Sullivan that I've listened to. I've read/listened through Journeymage and am waiting on the rest of the series to show up on Audible.

If you want a fun read try picking up something by Scott Meyer. His stuff is just funny, almost how Jim Butcher can be at times.

If want an epic fantasy that no one has heard of try David A Wells, Sovereign of the Seven Isles. It was a great series!

That ain't happening. EVERYONE knows we don't draft LSU and there are 2 LSU players and he has 2!!! (Quinn started there)

Sorry, complete bogus.
The environment here is crazy. We are staying in the UCLA host hotel and that is the ONLY place we are seeing ANY UCLA fans. But anywhere you walk or go in this town is a sea of purple and gold. It's gonna be a rockin' stadium tonight!

He should have picked up the blitz and prevented the fumble.

The standard definition feed here on Comcast is in Spanish yes but the HD feed is in English.
