I think Peterson is a totally different animal than your typical 1 and done recruit to be fair. I don't think I've ever seen another player just pull himself and sit the rest of the game because his legs were getting tired or he didn’t feel like playing anymore or whatever. I honestly have no clue why they don't just tell him to frick off and focus on his draft prep
I can't imagine being an NBA gm or owner and making Peterson a top pick. He has basically put every possible red flag out there that he is either a head case or he will straight up quit on his teammates. Then I hear experts say "oh he is just bored at the college level" as if that's a reasonable explanation. That makes zero logical sense. He is bored doing the job that you are about to pay him franchise money with???
From the standpoint of being a basketball player, I love his game though.

Portal has brought us Sears, Nelson, Trelly, Biz, Houston, Youngblood.
Estrada as well. 2nd leading scorer, 2nd leading Rebounder, and 1st in assists for the final four team. Oddly, had a lot of haters

Yeah. Theo Ratliff was a big Alabama football fan if you check his IG. Sucks we couldn’t pull that off. But bigs are one position you like them seasoned if you can get it. I can guarantee you there will be some very good bigs in the portal. We’ll have to pony up to get them.
I would love another Grant Nelson. He gets caught in the cross hairs of some hate because of his awkward shot, but the guy brought a lot of offensive and defensive weapons that you can see we miss this year. This will be considered blasphemy by some, but Nelson was paired with a fairly low motor center last year.
Cliff could do some special things, but I always felt like he was waiting on an invitation to turn up the energy. Cliff looked every bit the part and in brief flashes he would play the part, but I just really struggle to remember a game last year where Cliff's defense or rebounding or his ability to just hurt opponents with his athleticism was the only reason we won. Cliff was just kind of there. I thought he was going to be such an unbelievable difference maker and he just wasn't. Hopefully we find a big skilled forward to pair with a returning Sherrell. Not another Bol Bowen.

Well considering most one seeds win their conference tournament the odds were pretty high of that. But beyond that, I will gladly take conference tournament Champions and you take the field each year and history says the results would be very lopsided

Houston, Duke and UF all won their conference tournaments last year and played in the final four. These are college kids who are playing 3 games over a 3 day stretch in most cases and then get 4 days of rest. I have yet to see hard evidence that winning conference tournaments has any real ill impact on quality teams

Widely discussed or not, UConn, Duke, UF, etc are certainly attempting to win their conference tournaments every year

Interestingly, would prefer to dodge UConn, Az, UF, Duke, Mich and even Purdue. Would not mind Houston though

Honestly, since we’re probably locked into a 4 with a win on Sat, I wouldn’t hate a Friday or Saturday exit from the SECT (assuming Florida doesn’t get upset). I don’t really want us playing FL on Sunday and using a ton of energy trying to win that only to lose by double digits and not be rested for the NCAAT.
How much rest do you need before it's rust?
Playing on Sunday and then playing a game, at the earliest, 4 days later should be good to go

When I saw us win in Knoxville and have a Tuesday road game I knew we were in trouble

This was a coin flip game coming in. Uga has length and what beats them is they usually struggle shooting. Didn't happen tonight

Our basketball team bi-polar personality is expected for me. Been this way for years. Its Oats team for the good and bad.
Well they have won 8 in a row coming into this game. This Uga team isn't bad by any means and they played over their head

Mallette’s a warrior. Love that kid. Limited talent…plays hard all the time.
Missed a lot of wide open looks tonight though and has struggled with his assignment on defense...granted I will take all of that back if he will go back to back 3s here

Though replacing him with Bol Bowen is just about a lateral move

Williamson has played 9 minutes and has managed to have absolutely 0 recorded stats.
