Astoria, Oregon is one of my favorite cities in the US. I'd love to retire there one day. It's got a charming, walkable downtown but have this cool sort of haunted feel to it. Its beautiful. Stay there for a night or two - have a couple beers Ft. George Brewing and Buoy. Make sure to get breakfast at Blue Scorcher Cafe.

I think you've convinced us to drop a day in Forks and stay in Astoria. It sounds like it'd be a good fit.

I am still worried about trying to travel in from Port Angeles to Seattle the day of the game. The game is at noon, and I'm imagining Seattle will be a madhouse that day.
Current Plan:

Fly into Portland
Saturday Night in Florence
(Sand Dunes, Heceta Head, Sea Lions)
Sunday Night - Tillamook/Cannon Beach
Monday Night - Forks Area (Rialto Beach, explore)
Tuesday Night - Forks Area (Moh Rainforest)
Wednesday Night - Port Angeles Area
Thursday Night - Port Angeles Area
Friday Night - Seattle Area
Saturday Night - Seattle Area
Sunday - Fly back

Portland/Washington Coast Road Trip

Me and the GF are looking at flying into Portland middle of June, and spending a week or so driving up the coast, finally finishing off in the Seattle area for a WC game....

Anyone done something similar recently?

Any can't miss spots you loved?
The mass shooting was modeled almost exactly like the Las Vegas shooting from a few years ago.

Pretty sure some of the medical staff and MCI staff of that event consulted.

As far as authenticity, as someone else said, the medical aspect and pace of emergency medicine is better than anything I've ever seen on TV.

GCGV and Exxon/Sabic is the same thing.

So, I worked on both the GCGV/Exxon/Sabic project and the Tesla project.

Everyone local hates the desal idea for exactly the reasons listed. Will destroy the small bays and coastal areas via the discharge, not to mention they have already been dredging this area forever.

GCGV did a really good job as far as closed looped systems and repurposed any type of cooling/heating in the process units to make it one of the most "efficient" projects I've been a part of. They just need a ton of cooling water.

Tesla on the other hand, has a very " we do what we want" philosophy on all things.

Will be interesting to see what shakes out with all the industry in the area.
Chris started up US Fire Pump shortly after their non-compete expired. I've dealt mostly with his son Connor on things now but have seen Chris around at stuff from time to time.

And yes, sourcing an engine is almost impossible now days. Only way to get something halfway fast is to grab a demo truck from Industrial Apparatus or someone. But have to know a guy and be able to throw up money quick.

Price of lithium hydroxide is pretty terrible. Add that to a relatively crappy process and not producing til 2026 really puts them behind a good chunk of folks that'll be producing lithium hydroxide in 2024.

Cybertruck looks like complete and utter dog shite. I don't know why anyone would drive one.

While I am not a fan, they look 1,000 times better in person.
So I've been on it 3 months. Not obese. Just not in game shape anymore. 5'10, 39 years old and weighed 198lbs when I started. Shift work and Terrible eating habits. Was $450 for about 5 months worth. No side effects I've seen. Reduced appetite, no more sweet cravings, etc. I'm down to about 175lbs. Done thru the shot and much improved eating habits.

Let’s see what we’re rolling out today vs Ryan Reynolds. Completely different side should be interesting.

I picked up my 2022 Badlands Sasquatch in April. I drive alot. 12k miles, check engine light pops up for engine misfiring. Dropping it off at dealership in the morning. Fantastic start!
Lots of small breweries right next to the stadium. I'd recommend catching an uber to Hopsquad or Circle Brewing and have some drinks. Couple different food trucks hang around there as well. Then walk to stadium with supporters group and La Murga.
I paid about 350 a ticket for game 7 of Astros and Nats. Up top, but still, 350 in the door wasn't bad at all
Gotta love these folks. Good to see them getting love. I've known Zach for 100 years and is truly one of the greatest guys you'll ever meet.
