re: Do you take offense to being called "bud" or "buddy"?

Whatever you do, don't call a cop "buddy"...they don't seem to like that very much

My buddy and his wife are swingers. He is short, chubby and bald with a big arse beard. His wife is NOT attractive at all, like an OT 2(only because her boobs are somewhat large) but the way men fawn over her on Facebook just tells me that most men will stick their dick in anything.
He has a lot of swinger friend on his FB list(identified by "LS" at the end of their name). I went through it yesterday and not one of them were even remotely attractive.
When I worked at Wal-Mart years ago, one of our cart pushers found $8K in one of those planners left in a buggy far away from the store. He turned it in to his manager and they called the guy. He came back, parked his Mercedes in the fire lane in front of the store, hustled in and got his planner. The manager pointed out the employee that turned it in and he said "Huh....I guess you guys aren't low life's after all" and promptly walked out.

Certain denominations require you to send in W-2's and pay stubs. That way if you're slacking, they can call you out during Sunday service.
re: Do you think tithing (10%) to the church is a Biblical requirement?
Posted by Jenious on 4/10/26 at 12:31 pm to Harry Rex Vonner
I know that Non-Denominational pastors will tell you it's in the Bible. Also, according to them, when you do "tithe", it's 10% of your gross income. Not after any taxes are taken out, insurance, 401K, etc. So, if you make $120K per year, you tithe $1,000/month. God gets his before Uncle Sam.
Let's say you sell your home, you make $100K on the sale, $10K goes directly to the church. It's 10% of ALL household income. If your 13 year old babysits and makes $40 per night, you guess it, $4 of that goes to the church.

I have a friend who’s divorced and still takes communion.
This is the only reason my ex father in law wouldn't divorce his wife. He was too worried about being able to receive communion.
I dated this girl whose grandparents were married for over 50 years. Her grandpa died pretty suddenly and the grandma packed up all her belongings and moved a few states away and got remarried a week after his funeral.

They are not in high demand
I wanted to buy one the other day at my local WM but they were under lock and key and couldn't find an associate to help. They had about 5-6 behind the glass case. Went home and ordered one online for pickup about an hour later. Get a notification a few hours later that they canceled my order because they were now out of stock.
Amazon and eBay are selling them for double. No Wal-mart within a 100 miles has any. I would say they are a hot item right now.

Please say you were Army and not Air Force!
Yep, Army. But I worked with quite a few Air Force guys that weren't too bright either.
I was stationed in Germany during 9/11. We had a guy who was home on leave in Ohio when it happened. He called our boss to let him know he will be on the first flight back as soon as they allow flights. Our boss told him he needed to rent a car and drive back.
The guy was like "You want me to drive....to Germany".

re: Get ready to lose another convenience of a high trust society - e.g. hotel breakfast
Posted by Jenious on 3/15/26 at 6:15 pm to tiggerthetooth
I've done this once in my entire life. The hotel my brother and I were staying at, the breakfast wasn't ready yet so we walked next door and ate theirs.
re: Spinoff: how many traffic tickets have you gotten?
Posted by Jenious on 3/14/26 at 10:08 pm to Allthatfades
Three. One back in 2002 driving back to Colorado from Texas. Cop got me at 9 over. Ticket was only $90.
The other two were here in LA. Expired inspection sticker(yes, It happens) and doing 62 in a 55. Both of those were taken cared of and I didn't pay a dime.

Mine went up to $27 also, logged on to cancel and they offered $8/month. Told them no and they proceeded to cancel. I told them I changed my mind and $8 was good.

I just don’t want to get the gasket fixed so I’ll keep doing it this way. I’ve tried Stop Leak but not had much luck with it.
The oil pan gasket? That's a $500 repair at worst. You're paying $200 per year in just oil to top off. I would just bite the bullet and change it. It would drive me nuts to check my oil every single day.

Rees St. I would trust L&L tire as well. Herbert's Garage changed ownership and its called something else now.

They don't use impact wrenches. I know that for a fact.

The place I go to is family owned and I know them personally. They've all been working there forever. I'll never step foot in a Take 5 or any of those other chains.
