Is Vic’s better than Madi’s?

Decisively so. Madi has always had trouble with that vault, even at Denver

ETA: Vic keeps her legs glued together on the block and gets more height on the vault than Madi which helps her find the landing more easily

I didn’t really see anything that showed Haley deserving a 9.775. Maybe a short handstand but that was it. Anyone else see something?

She had bent elbows on her maloney catch, was short on the blind change handstand on the low bar and took multiple steps on the dismount after underrotating it
Looks like both Mustari and Jeffrey are in on bars today in place of Zeiss and Blackson respectively
i understand and respect that Haley has higher scoring potential than Alexis but Jeff has significantly more experience competing in general in college and especially on podium than Haley does. It can really throw off your swing if you’re not used to it
I think we should let Mustari or Jeffrey go in for her on bars, Put Coen and or Ulrich in on beam for someone and if her body is feeling ok, let Konnor do floor (or Ulrich who has a serviceable routine) Also if she’s competition ready, let Chase anchor vault to get the competition rust knocked off of her cuz we’re gonna need her come post season.
They’re a 2 event team. Vault and Floor are both less than mediocre for them every week, sometimes bars and sometimes beam too. I don’t want to say it’ll be an easy win for us but as long as we are normal, we’ll walk away with the win

That was 2 evenly matched teams. I had LSU slightly ahead but didn’t expect LSU to beat OU in their home gym. Even the head coach was telling the team to compete and not look at the scores, he knew that we would come up a little short due to the bias of the OU judges. The score should have been much closer. LSU outperformed OU in 2 of the events yet the judges had them behind in all 4 events.

Jay has always said that if you don’t win by more than .3 as the home team, you really haven’t won the meet at all because neutral site judges neutralize that gap with scoring. We were within .2 of them, WITHOUT our typical bar and floor anchors that typically score 9.925+ and without Konnor in the 5 spot on beam. Yes she has had some struggles so far this season but we know what she’s capable of when she’s ON. Not to mention, regardless of our ranking going into post season (which should have us as a number one seed for regionals regardless), we don’t have to travel for regionals so that puts us at a significant advantage over oklahoma before nationals in terms of training, rest and scoring
Does she have the ability to take one? I thought the NCAA voted to do away with fifth years in non-revenue sports
At least in the grand scheme of things when it comes to post season scoring and rankings, this score will end up getting dropped for them and we’ll get to count this road score
I wish the judges sat at an angle on every event because the way Oklahoma lands on every dismount with their feet shoulder width apart (not hip width apart) is supposed to be a .1 deduction every single time but they always seem to get away with the mile wide deep squatty potty feet landing
We could potentially chip away at their lead a little bit if we hit floor normally, even with no Kaliya anchoring

Lexi is low key so good. Leadoff in three events and basically taking one for the team signing up to be underscored on three events.

No offense but that mindset is bullshite and has the potential to lose us a national title every year we keep dwelling on it. The year we won, Sierra led us off with a 9.95 on beam (which one could argue for a ten on that routine). OU, Florida, UCLA, and Utah have found ways to win titles with their leadoff routines scoring 9.9+ on each event every week (sometimes going even as high as a 9.975 or a 10 in one case). If anyone is “signing up to be underscored in the leadoff spot” on any event, it’s because they showed a little bit of doubt and nerves and gave the judges a reason to put pen to paper and take a deduction, even if we know and believe it shouldn’t be taken
Personally I would love a win, but value the road score more heavily than a victory (though beating them on the road would keep us in the running for the regular season title once again)

Just noticed the Leo’s don’t have LSU or Tigers on them only an SEC logo

No specific reason for that other than these were the leos the team debuted for SEC Championships in 2025. Those don’t always have LSU, Tigers, or a Tiger on them (for example the wonder woman leo we wore in 2019 and the remake of it from 2024). Just depends on what our GK reps decide to do when designing it
I did the math correctly in my head: our average after tonight moves to 197.52 while Florida’s drops to 197.32. Alabama and UCLA will also move ahead of them. Not sure what other teams will as well but I’m sure a couple others will too
Even with just a 197.525, we should still move ahead of Florida in the rankings after this week, or closer to them at least
she landed noticeably short and stumbled out of her second pass
Wish he’d do his research before commenting a meet. 90% of the shite he says is not accurate (like saying Amari’s floor career high is now 9.95 when she scored 9.975 TWICE last year). You would think he would’ve learned a thing or two after commenting our non conference meets all these years
